I can count how many real fruits and vegetables you've had this week on one hand. I'm surprised you poop at all after eating all that processed crap.
theres a ton of junk food in the dairy, where are the fruits and vegetables? No Fiber-No Poop. The End.
thank god someone said this...your diary is filled with crap! i hate to say it...but I'm not sure what part of "eating right" went wrong. eek. just the honest truth, sorry.0 -
I agree a cup of coffee works great. I also drink 100% Aloe juice and or adding some 2 tbsp flax a day sometimes both are added to my morning smoothies. Becareful with the Smooth Moves Tea though, it has Senna in it (which is an ingredient found in some of those popular name brand laxatives) and sometimes can cause stomach pains.0

everyone in my house eats crap & when I'm at work its hard. I do eat fruit, maybe not so much veggies, but compared to my old diet I think I've been doing pretty well.
Veggies veggies veggies...
Also, and I don't remember the source, but this issue in general seems to hit women more than men.0 -
These are all pretty good suggestions.. But if it's been a full a week with nothing at all, that could be cause for real concern. You probably should at least call your doctor.
If you are not passing gas, go to the ER because you likely have an obstruction. It's very unlikely you'll clear an obstruction without medical help.0 -

^^ this.... eat more real food. stop eating candy/junk and frozen or processed stuff everyday... eggs, veggies, fruit, nuts, legumes, brown rice, fish, whole wheat grains.... everyone eats junk at my house too... I live with my fiance and a male roomie who want pizza and big macs all the time... oh how nice you're treating me to supper... oh mcdonalds again? I'll have the grilled chicken salad please.... it can be done... oh and I work full time and a part time job... pre plan. I eat out quite a lot more than I should, but for the most part I try to get salads and stuff. and treat myself one or two times a week. I treat myself to chocolate a couple times a week, but not candy every day...0 -
The same thing happened to me when i first atrted and i was eating mostly raw fruit and veg, and drinking a gallon of water a day....it was weird! but psyllium husk has really helped me.0

My sister has this problem when she diets. You want to make sure your eating a lot of green stuff. The bread and the cheese are the worst! Add fiber to your diet! If you don't want to waste the calories on those fiber 1 bars (which are great) there are fiber supplements you can put in your drinks and they are tasteless and I am pretty sure they are 0 calories. They've helped my sister a lot. Also look into probiotic supplements or try a yogurt like activia that has the same stuff in it. Good luck!0

fiber and yogurt. No bananas...they are like buttputty.
OMG...dying laughing inside!! :laugh:0 -
A single cup of coffee first thing n the morning can also help. Sounds weird but it really does work.
Ditto ^ works for me!
Coffee is actually a diuretic, which is why it helps flush your system.
And one of the suspected causes of colon cancer is not pooping, because holding it and not going as often causes stress which they hypothesize leads to cancer. Its one of the reasons fiber, and anything that helps regulate the digestive system, is considered so good for you!
Anyone ever sit there long enough that their leg falls asleep and it feels like your walking with a peg leg afterwards?0 -
See. Dr. Immeadiately. People die frequently from bowel problems- Don't risk your life for a diet. Also- More liquids- Dr's will often recommend a liquid diet until you - you know- Get right.0

I'm just old-fashioned in many ways and to say something like that on a coed site is yuck in my opinion but I know some don't care or have been taught it's ok. Maybe I'm the one that's wrong. So maybe I'll just join in and say I hope you unload sooner then later.TMI, grief:noway:I have been on track with my eating & excersing but it seems like ever since I've started MFP I've been going A LOT less then I normally do. I feel bloated! HELP!
everyone poops. how is it TMI?
I'm sorry if this is a problem for you to see/read- this is a health/ diet site-- It has nothing to do with etiquette- Bowel problems and other things are often a problem with health/diet/life/weight changes- this is a topic that some people need help with. If you don't or won't discuss this with people to get help that's fine- move on.0 -
suprise buttseks.
works every time.
LOL- Zak and marie make a porno XDDDDD0 -

coffee and I also suggest Mcdonald's breakfast lol for reals0

I have a shot (or two) of peach Schnapps. Archers is my drink of choice. Sweet, and smooth.0

I have added Metamucel (smooth orange flavor) to my diet foods and it helps greatly. I take 1 tull tbsp w/8 oz of water twice a day. It will help you. I have less bloat than I have in my whole life. That stuff works! And it makes you feel full. I actually have no afternoon low cal/fat snack anymore.
GOOD LUCK.0 -
My advice is: more fiber, and a lot more water. Sometimes coffee can help move things through, but it doesn't work for everyone. After not pooping for a week it might be a hard and possibly a hurtful poop, so be prepared. Also drink a little bit more water the day your bowel finally moves itself. If you can't go by yourself don't by shamed to buy some helpful things. My go-to product every single time is Phillips. Do not take more than what's recommended on the package or you might end up having a wild time in your bathroom, including vomiting. I usually do a swallow or two before bed, and it does it's magic in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping. The next morning brings relief. I take Phillips because it helps your body digest the 'stuck' food without cramping or those "I gotta go NOW" moments. You might be missing an important nutrient out of your diet, so I'd look into that. Phillips has magnesuim which is what really helps me digest.
If this is a continuous problem, please don't be scared to see your doctor about it and discuss.0 -

bahahahah... this made me laaaaauuuuugh!!
I keep powdered metamucil for these occasions. You can also get a variety of OTC laxatives (you can talk the options out with a pharmacist). If the problem persists, see your Dr and bring a printout of your food diary with you.0 -
Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but you seem to eat a lot of cheese, which is known to make you feel bunged up. Maybe stop that for a couple of days and see if that helps?0
-
Take some Alli....That'll definitely dooo it.0
-
Well, thanks for everyones input! I'll try some of the suggestions. & when I hit the lotto, I'll make sure to hire a personal chef so I wont eat SmartOnes & Healthy Choice meals everyday0

The title to this post should of warned you, nimrod. .:grumble:0 -
You def need more fiber... try for 25 grams a day. More friut, veggies and whole grain bread products0
-
I'm so glad you posted this! I just started MFP last week and I use to go everyday and now I go like once every 2 days and it's not very much. It was starting to freak me out but I think it's because my body isn't use to not eating fast food all the time and the general cut down in calories.0

I'd like to clarify one point in that post (which is fabulous btw)
"(which I believe is akin to making your eyeballs look in different directions, i.e. impossible)"
Not true my friend I can do that0 -

I love cheese! LoL I can't enjoy it like I did before this diet (I did eat much more prior, like, every time I passed the fridge, I'd take a slice!)0
