Tried it and liked it except the yogurt is a little tart for me...anyway to reduce that?

You can use regular plain yogurt. I did this for my husband and he liked it better than using the greek yogurt. It doesn't end up as thick as with the greek yogurt

Thanks for sharing this, I had to mix up a breakfast last night just to try it today. Didn't have much to work with, but I used what I had, old fashioned oats, yoplait light FF Banana Cream Pie, and 1/2 of a banana....Sweet but oh so yummy and I loved the texture-just right. Now I will shop with ON oatmeal in mind-Thanks again!

fell back to old behaviors and put it back on, back on track a week now and have been looking for a dessert that might burn more calories to digest that a typical dessert, sounds like this may be it. it is a dessert right, not a breakfast thing ?

It is a breakfast thing that you can easily make into a delicious dessert. The basic recipe (1/3 cup milk, 1/4 cup oats, 1/4 cup yogurt) isn't sweet. But you add items like fruit, peanut butter, coffee, and cocoa for your flavors; sugar, honey, maple syrup, agave, molasses, or some substitute for sweetener; chia and/or flaxseed for thicker consistency . . . and once it's chilled you have a very nice dessert somewhere between 200 and 500 calories depending on your desire.

It's very versatile, great for any meal, snack or dessert.

EDIT: but don't put a lot of stock in the "burn calories through digestion" concept. Even counting your celery and cucumbers that way is misleading. :-)

This isn't about overnight oats but I had to share- the BEST oatmeal recipe I've ever tasted was Sweet Potato Oatmeal Breakfast Casserole (with crunchy pecan topping) off of Oh She Glows. It is SO good! mmmm...

So you eat these without ever heating up the oatmeal? Sounds different, not sure in a good or bad way yet. :flowerforyou:

The sugar is probably not neccessary and the Slimfast can be lessened. There is a lot of flavor to the above recipe. I ended up having 1/3 of this with 6 cherries, 1/3 for a snack with 1/2 a stick of celery with 1/2 Tbsp of peanut butter and 6 cherries. After a half day of work, I ate the other 1/3 with water.
