I LOVE competition - bring it on baby! And now I'm going to friend you cause I like your attitude and it'll keep me motivated!
Uh oh!!!! Eeeeek. Okay....... as they say in my FAV movie of all time "Bring it on!"
Starting weight is (gulp) 159 ..... But the only way is down.
Question, I havent been to the gym for a month and find that when I start exercising my weight goes UP to start off with... Has anyone else found this?
(p.s making excuses already?! Surely not.......)0 -
This thread is kinda quiet so I thought I would check-in and post a little question for anyone who wants a little chatter.
How's your week going? What's one thing you're doing that you feel will make you successful on your journey and you want to keep up?0 -

My answer: I've started a 2 week "ultimate frisbee bootcamp" with some friends (3-4 days a week for 2 weeks, plus our ultimate games). It's super hard, and I'm still sore after 2 days, but I know it's going to bring amazing changes to my body, I can already feel it. After the 2 weeks is up, some of us are going to continue with the workouts 1 day a week0 -

To finally finish the entire c25k and be able to run/jog for 30 minutes 3x4 times per week. Today is week6 day2 ---- it feels great when I finally got dressed and after the 5- 6 minute warm up. However, I am still have trouble motivating to get up and "go". You know what I mean?0 -

i'm also doing couch to 5k. just did w4d3 yesterday. the 5 minute run intervals were challenging and scary at first, but now i can do them! hoping i can keep up my progress and reach my 5k goal0 -
Am I the only person that weighs in on Mondays?0
-
Lol I'd like to say I only weigh in once a week but I think I have a new addiction...my scale! I need to give it up cause its really good at disappointing me :laugh:0

That's why I leave it alone and only weigh in Mondays. My progress is good when I stay motivated and do what needs to be done, but that scale is my enemy. It's the one thing that can tear my motivation down in a heartbeat. If I even weigh every 2 days I get discouraged.0 -
Am I the only person that weighs in on Mondays?
no, you're not! i also weigh in on mondays. early in the morning, right after i wake up & go pee, i check my weight--before eating breakfast or drinking any coffee or water.0 -

That's a great story. You're so close to finishing the c25k and you have hit on something that plagues many runners (including myself). The get up and go is so hard, but then you're right once you're into it, it feels so good. And eventually you will surprise yourself cause you'll find that you are craving a run and can't wait to get on those running shoes. Oh and be sure to "cross train" to avoid those common running injuries!0 -

I weigh everyday and before you all give me a hard time .... I have found that when I don't I can be really disappointed because I've worked so hard and a little thing like water retention, lactic acid from a hard workout, or a big meal the night before can appear as though I've not lost when actually I have. When I weigh everyday I can keep tabs on where I'm at and I never beat myself up when I'm up a little one day to the next, I usually know why. IDK for some reason seeing the number everyday keeps me motivated0 -

I like Fridays as my official weigh day. That way if I stray on the weekend I have time to get back on track. However, I do like to weigh everyday as well. I like to see progress to keep me motivated. Although I do hate on days that I know I did well and the scale doesn't reflect it.0 -

alright another 1.5 down! This is going great. had 2 big nights out this weekend, but had extra big burn yesterday to make up for it. it worked well. my "mini goal" this week is to stay on track all week and not go crazy on the weekend. I have some intense sporting/workouts this week and I really want to see some stellar results from all this work!0
