Frozen Yogurt Dots!

I found a recipe online today for frozen yogurt "dots".
Super simple and ultra yummy!
Step 1: Pick a yogurt. Mine was a mixed berry low calories yogurt from Kroger.
Step 2: Spoon yogurt into a Ziploc baggie.
Step 3: Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
Step 4: Cut a small hole in the corner of the bag.
Step 5: Pipe quarter sized dots onto the paper.
Step 6: Freeze. (Only takes about an hour! :D)

I'm currently working on a banana-peanut butter-vanilla yogurt one! I'll tell you all how it goes when they finish. :)

That actually sounds pretty yummy. And quick and easy to make! Thanks for sharing! :)
  • No problem! Just a hint, after 30 minutes, take them out of the freezer, and put them in a ziploc.bag. Then continue.freezing.
It helps keep that not freezer burnt taste.

I'll have to try this! As I am on a no dairy diet, hoping this works well with either my soy or coconut yogurts.

You could just spoon the yoghurt instead of wasting yet more plastics that will go straight to a landfill.

***Edited to sound less nasty. You could also put it in an old ketchup bottle or something you could keep so not to cause to much waste :D Every little helps. I also love the idea, I will be trying it tonight with lemon yoghurt.

This sounds VERY Yummy!!!! Thanks for the idea!
  • Yumm I will try this :)
  • The peanut butter banana ones really were the best. The yogurt was like ice cream!
Slice a banana thinly. Place on wax paper.
Cream together peanut butter and vanilla yogurt. Pipe (or spoon! :D) onto bananas.
Freeze. Once frozen, transfer to freezer safe container.
Seriously. Try these. I about died. :)

Interesting idea! I may do it using PB2 added to the yogurt. Thanks for sharing.

Do you just eat them as a snack? Or mix with something else?

    Love the idea!!
  • I just tried making these as well, I seen it on Dr. Oz just the other day! They have been a wonderful movie snack because they take as long to eat as a bowl of popcorn, it feels like your eating forever!

I tried mine with plain greek yogurt mixed with chocolate whey protein and a tiny bit of water because there is twice as much sugars in flavored greek yogurt.

    HIghly reccomended!

Coconut yogurts sound seriously, seriously gorgeous. Do you make or buy them?

So do you just like do a container of yogurt, and however many you get out of the tub is the calories?

I just don't wanna make these and then go crazy over the yumminess! lol

Precisely. I made over 30 quarter sized dots for around 80 calories. It takes longer to eat than regular yogurt and it may just be my imagination, but it tastes better!
  • Great idea! Thanks for sharing!

Hmm.... A couple tablespoons should do the trick. My mix was a light tan color.

Mine is in the freezer right now!

I hope they're better than non-frozen yogurt LOL (I'm really NOT a yogurt fan, everytime I eat it i get dizzy....haven't figured out which ingredient does it )
