I am so inspired by your story. I am a busy Mom of five little ones and never have time for exercise. My weight loss has been slow and discouraging, but now seeing your story has encouraged me to stop making excuses and start making it happen! With a few of the kids going to school in the Fall, I have a little more time to get my new routine in place. I checked out my local YMCA and they are offering FREE child-minding services for Mom's who stay in the building and workout! Hooray to the YMCA for finally understanding why a lot of Moms are home not exercising!!! Can't wait to hear more from you!0

I love your story. I have to admit that at first when I saw your starting weight I wasn't sure if I was even going to read your entire post since I have a lot of weight to lose, and figured I wouldn't be able to relate much to someone who had so little to lose. I was wrong, and boy am I glad I read on!
You look amazing and are an inspiration. You made me think about adding strength training/heavier lifting to my workout routine as I become more active and lose more weight. I am down about 38-39 lbs so far and still have 100+ to go. It's a long road ahead but one that I am absolutely capable of staying on (6 months 100% on plan so far, which has already proven something to myself).
For the first time in my life, I have the hopes of becoming ATHLETIC. That is not a word that I would have ever used to describe myself in the past, since I've been overweight since the age of 8 or so and have a history of injuries when trying to become more active. I now know that it is possible, and reading the success stories on MFP is a great way to keep that in focus as I continue along my journey.0 -
Just what I needed to read today. Im feeling hungry all the time and I am afraid to go over my calorie count at 1770. I have tried and failed on MFP numerous times do to tragic events in my family, depression and depression medication. I refuse to "diet" or give up food I love. I believe your story reveals the "secret" to me. I love cardio and will now strat weight training. Thank you for inspiring me.0

I really appreciate all your advice about ditching the scale and feeling accomplished through fitness goals.
I also grew up with an always dieting mom (she still is) so the messages are deeply rooted and hard to break away from (i.e. starve yourself to look skinny) I'm starting to get to a healthier more positive path to fitness, so thanks for sharing your awesome story and insights!0 -

Just awesome! I have seen you on a lot of the same forum thread that I am on, and you always inspire me! GREAT JOB! Can I ask, different people on here have different versions of "Lift heavy" and I am just curious about your story- when you started lifting, what did you start with, and how have you progressed since then? What would you consider "lifting heavy"? I have been doing Jillian's body revolution, and i know it is not heavy lifting but there is a LOT of body weight resistance strength training in there, as well as using 5s and 8s for isolated triceps and biceps, adding to the body weight resistance on some things, etc. I am thinking about doing Chalean Extreme, but not sure if I should do it or if so, how much weight i should start with.
