  • Thanks for this, but is anyone else overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information included in the beginner stuff?? I tremble at the thought of doing further research as I get more advanced in my training. Perhaps I should shell out a bit of $$$ for a trainer

    Well this stuff is really for everyone. The only thing lacking is lifting routines for people beyond beginner stage. As far as a trainer, what I would do is first read the book Starting Strength. Then find a trainer that looks like he lifts and tell him you want him to help with form on the lifts and nothing more. Or, don't get one at all and video yourself doing lifts and post to the Exercises or Workouts subforums on the bodybuilding.com website.
