I desperately want to lose weight. but it's so hard! because with the calorie limit MFP gives me (to lose 1 lb per week) no matter how much protein I eat, water I drink or veggies I eat I'm STARVING.
I woke up this morning and I was so hungry it actually hurt. and I already ate around 1100 calories today because I was just so so hungry I kept having hunger pangs.
we're having sushi tonight at a local resteraunt (all food is cooked and served 100% fresh) and I have no idea what to do...
my calorie limit is 1290. I'm a female at 5'3 inches and 151 lbs. I'm 20.
I feel like I'll never reach my goal weight

Don't eat until you get to the sushi restaurant. that's if you can last that long. that way you can splurge all you want on sushi!! Also look up "ghrelin" It's probably that is the cause of your hunger. Fight it and win! GL0

You've been at it less than a month. Don't inspect instant results. If that calorie limit is too low, set it at TDEE-20% or exercise more and eat up your exercise calories.0

Open up your diary so we can get an idea of what your eating. 1290 maybe too low for you.0

I've lost 50 lbs last year but every since then losing weight has been hopeless. and everytime it's asked here people say "don't eat your exercise calories"0

As I read last week about a similar post......no, life isn't fair. Yes, losing weight is hard. If losing weight was easy, everyone would be fit and healthy.
Open your diary for more suggestions. You've implied you eat a lot of protein...at 1290 cal you should be getting over 100g protein a day. How are your fats? Don't avoid fats (from healthy foods), they will keep you feeling full. For me, nuts are the best snack ever. They ALWAYS make me feel full.0 -

I don't think it's tortue, I think it's discipline! It takes time so take baby steps. Just snack on something light for now until it's time to hit up the restaurant.0 -

Stop being dramatic, you don't have to starve yourself. Maybe you're making poor food choices, not getting enough protein, not eating back your exercise calories and once again 1290 is too low.

I know - it feels like you could eat your shoe! Except... suddenly... it doesn't. You need to deal with this for a little while - but your body does adjust. Exercise is a GREAT appetite suppressant, too - do a little light cardio when you think you're hungry (a nice brisk walk) and then have a big glass of water. You'll be amazed - and then you'll see some results and you will realize how much effort YOU really are worth!0

I eat all day. Once every 2 hours. You just have to figure out how to space it out and what to eat0 -

eat your calories and you wont starve...the TWO days you have logged in the last week have you low. you have room to eat more.0 -
I looked at your diary...your protein and your fat are both too low. Both are things your body needs...and they are what will make you feel full. The carbs are a bonus only for energy. Keep those carbs down around 100g, up your protein to 100g, and get your fats in (from healthy foods). Bet you won't be feeling so hungry all the time.0

Exercise more.
You can eat an extra 1000 calories of you burn it off. The funny thing is on the days I burn 500 or more...I'm not even hungry.
And it might help to work on a weekly deficit instead. Exercise off 500 today to use tomorrow for dinner out...etc.0 -
1290cals. is not much to eat all! Maybe you can decrease your carbs, increase your protein and increase your calories to 1300-1400 range,and eat back half of your exercise calories.0

You're being a tad bit dramatic. But for an honest opinion on what you can do. Work out more so you can eat back exercise calories like everyone suggests. Get on a regular eating schedule. Plan out small meals through out the day. Up your fiber and protein. Snack on veggies with out dressing and stuff. Just eat them raw. You can practically eat that to your hearts content. Eat fruit. Drink more water. Soup is also not very filling, especially if it's mainly broth.0

I have the same problem as you. I simply cannot survive on less then 1800 calories without being starving ALL THE TIME, miserable, and wanting to quit. If you feel that horrible, DON'T DO IT!! You cannot possibly stick with it when it's that hard! Increase you calories to something you think you can handle, like 1600, and eat good, balanced meals, not 100% protein. I myself find if I do not have a significant component of whole grain carbs in my meals I am hungry in an hour or less. It may not be the same for you, but that is what I have found with myself. You have to listen to your body. You may just have a really high metabolism and require more fuel then the average girl. Adjust your intake and find your balance, just don't use the extra calories eat a bunch of crap. Add me if you want support from someone who can't do the 1200 calorie thing0
