Artificial Sweeteners. There MIGHT be some in my protein powder, I'd have to check, but as a rule I avoid them like the plague. OH.. and while not 'artificial' - I also gave up Truvia/Stevia recently due to a possible side effect.
I have my sugar, just in moderation.
Everything else - I eat if I reallly want it, just in moderation, and if it's really high calorie, I save it for my high calorie days so It's easier to fit in.0 -
Still trying to fully cut out soda and other drinks with sugar....so far Ive drank nothing but water and coffee for 3 days0

I've not given up anything really. The food I like is the food I like and I doubt I can live the rest of my life avoiding those. I do try to eat them in moderation.
I have however given up on food that is really processed and has lots of additives. I prefer to make things at home.0 -
None! It is a lifestyle change, everything in moderation. If I have a day I want fries and chocolate I have them, I count them and I exercise harder to burn them off!0

But, that's basically it. Everything else I enjoy in life I have every now and again. And 9 times outta 10 within my calorie allotment for the day.

I've gone totally vegan. This means no animal products at all (eggs, cheese, milk, etc). I am developing a plant based diet. I would recommend everyone to read Eat to Live by Dr.Furhman or watch Forks over Knives (available instant streaming on netflix).
I had originally hit a huge plateau and now the weight seems to be coming off quicker, I have more energy, and my skin even feels different! It's quite the change, but honestly one of the best I have ever made!0 -
Soda. Fast food. They're just garbage and there's no reason for me to eat them, even if I can work them in or am having a cheat day.0

Sweets, but just temporarily until I break the addiction. I'm a firm believer that you can have whatever you want in moderation. For me, life isn't worth it if I have to deny myself things constantly.0

Milk chocolate (mainly bc I am breastfeeding and makes the baby gassy!) So, milk chocolate and sodas. The only soda I drink on occasion is Sierra Mist Natural.0

I've never been a real drinker, but I don't touch alcohol now, can think of better things to use the calories on!
Pizza - can't remember the last time I had a piece, but it was always a treat anyway as hubby can't bear cheese so it's not something we ate often, only if I was out without him
Other than that, I haven't really given up anything, I just have it in moderation and include it into my daily allowance.0 -

Alcohol (unless a rare occasion)
Caffeine (unless from green tea)
Meat
Fried foods
White Sugar
Ice cream
Cake
Chocolate (unless 70% or more pure cocoa, or raw cocoa)
Reduced cheese intake dramatically (unless we're talking cottage cheese)
Anything processed (almost all the middle isles of the grocery store are mysteries to me)
The key is really to just walk in the grocery store and go through the produce section and fridge area... then leave. lol0 -
NONE! I am a happy vegetarian who has modified when and how much I eat. I don't sacrifice on anything... I just eat it less frequently or in lesser amounts0

For allergy reasons, I had to give up soy-based products and regular dairy due to the growth hormones and antibiotics (can tolerate regular cheeses in small amounts and yogurts).
I gave up regular peanut butter because it kicks in my cravings, something about the hydogenated oil, sugar, and salt as well as the texture. I substitute the natural Krema brand sold at Meijer.0 -

Not so sure if you count it as a food, but I completely gave up soda on April 16th, 2012. I thought it was impossible for me to ever give it up cold turkey, but I took a drink one day, got completely sick (I swear, I think I got a tainted Diet Coke!) and never looked back. I can't even drink carbonated drinks anymore, it hurts my stomach too bad. Nowadays I drink only water, juice or almond milk. Never felt better :-)0

Donuts as they all taste too sweet and doughy now - yuk!
Coffee/mocha/chocolate from the coffee shop with sugar and cream.
I have to walk 10 to 50 mins to get anything we don't have in the house as we don't have a car, so I walk to the Chinese takeaway, the bottle shop, McDonald's, KFC, Subway, supermarkets, etc. and just make sure I burn off st least some of the calories on those days. If I have Chinese I make sure it lasts for 2 meals, similar with fried chicken and Subway.
I have a subscription to a website called Harvest Box and they send me a box with 4 punnets of healthy snacks in them once a week. They are lower in calories than chips, and most are more filling. When I eat chips, I get a salad bowl, place it on the scales, and weigh out one serving. Then I only eat that bowl, whereas before I'd eat the whole big bag for dinner when I had PMS.0 -
I dont eat fast food in general anymore (with the exception of Subway) because its just not worth the calories!
And I don't buy my creamy peter pan peanut butter anymore. This is a matter of self control for me. Every time i go grocery shopping I stop in front of the peanut butter and read the label and think about how many of my calories i can afford to spend on peanut butter and how likely it is that ill stick to a serving size. But in reality, if i bring that delicious creamy goodness into my house, the whole jar will be gone in 2 days. I am learning to practice self control in the grocery store, instead of having to struggle every day when i open up the cupboard and really want just "one spoonful".
The same now goes for Nutella, because last week i bough a little jar and it was gone in 3 days...oops0
