Well, what worked for me was to drink a lot of water. It "filled" my stomach and bought me an extra hour or so. When I did snack, I ate protein.
I'm no doctor, but I also think a person's stomach "shrinks" to a certain extent. If you can make it through that first few weeks - which takes the most will power, you start to see results on the scale, and that adds fuel to the will power, which breeds more success.

Wow, your post has obviously inspired a lot of us! I just found MFP a few days ago, so I don't have a lot of experience with it yet. I'm curious if you ALWAYS tracked your food and exercise? I'm a little worried that my shiny new commitment to enter everything will fade and I will fall away from my goals entirely if I don't keep up each and every day. Any tips on what kept you on track for those weeks after the initial motivation died away??0
