    The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I LOVE IT!! (I'm on Good Reads, Courtney Wachob)

    I'm a ninth grade English teacher and I teach this book. I cry every time we read the ending together...in front of my 30 fourteen year olds :)
    This is one of the most memorable books I've read in recent years - for another perspective on WWII, I also recommend Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford.

    Just finished The Invisible Ones by Stef Penney, just started Bloodline by Mark Billingham, couple of favourites are Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, Run by the same Author, and anything by Kate Atkinson or Michael Connolly/Connelly (can never remember how to spell it.
    Traps for Library users - getting settled on the train for the normal hourly commute, opening the book and starting to read, only to discover with horror after the first two pages that ... I've already read it! Very long trip.

    I've had that problem too - my memory is so bad though that it often takes 100 pages for me to realize it seems familiar. Coincidentally, I started reading Bloodline too but mine is by James Rollins. And I've enjoyed books by Michael Connelly and John Connolly :).

    I'm reading Scapegoats of the Empire (the memoir on which the movie Breaker Morant is based), but I'm having what seems to be my eternal crisis when it comes to books, I'm 4 chapters in and already want to start another one...I just bought Horse's Neck by Pete Townshend, should be a lot of fun to read. Usually I'll just put down the first and start the next (terrible! I know), but this time I'm really going to try to stick with it.

    This was one of my favorites. I've also recently enjoyed novels by Jonathan Coe & Mark Haddon. I guess I'm on a middle-aged British guy kick.

    I'm in the middle of reading Insurgent. It is going so fast. Read it while I'm on the elliptical, carpooling, at night. It will be done before I want it to be.

    I am reading the Coral Thief by Rebecca Stott - 1815 France a Scots student there to learn whilst working in the museum, his meeting with a French woman and the theft of a coral. Can highly recommend it.

    I have that book somewhere (I still haven't unpacked all my books from moving!) I am reading the Mackenzies boxed set by Liliana Hart. It's smut, but sometimes I like books I don't have to think much about. I haven't decided what to read next, but I think I'm in the mood for something more intellectual or historical. I do have a Goodreads account, message me and I'll give you my info! :)

    I just started reading the Illad after which I'll read teh Odyssey. Haven't read them since highschool and I'm enjoying them a lot. They seem to be one of those books you draw more out of if you revisit it later on when you are older.

    I recently discovered Daniel Suarez. His latest book, Kill Decision, is the best book I've read this year by far. It's of the suspense/action genre that nails the tech side of it.
    If you've ever rolled your eyes at 'magical technology' and lines like "We had to brute force his firewall!", than this book will come as welcome relief.

    Also just finished Sandman Slim, which I also highly recommend.

    Im supposed to be reading CISCO manuals for my degree :yawn: , but I have finished two Lee Child books in the last 48 hours.:happy:

    Jack Reacher is currently my favourite hero, and it galls me to know that the guy that is supposed to be playing him in the movies is Tom Cruise. :huh:

    Reacher is 6'5" 250lbs
    Cruise is 5'8" and I have boots heavier than him! :grumble:

    But the books are well written and there is some nice sarcastic humour in them (Fits in with the Brit in me) :tongue:
