Inappropriate work attire...*shudder*

So...there's a lady at work...she annoys me a little in the first place, but she's nice enough.

She's 50ish...probalby mid 50's. She (twice now) wears this sweater...it is low cut, first of all...and has a VERY open weave pattern at the top.

I do not want to seem mean...but honestly the sweater is borderline inappropriate. It shows off a large amount of cleavage...and then the weave pattern...I mean I can see what color bra she has on. And I do mean it reveals the entire bra...you can see more than I think is appropriate ouside the home let alone at the work place.

Anyone else get in this situation?I feel like I can't look in that direction...it's so awkward.

*edited because...:I should preface that this is a medical environment...not casual...even if it was....*

PS: not looking for advice on what to do about it...more seeing if anyone else has been in a simliar situation. THanks.

    I worked with a girl at an animal hospital who wore low rise jeans and always had plumber's crack. We typically wore scrub tops, but whatever bottoms we wanted. And it was a job that involved a lot of bending and stooping. It got so bad that the boss changed our dress code that we ALL had to only wear scrub pants. And she still managed to show *kitten*. :noway:

    I'm the only woman in an office of men but we've had a woman coming around as a guest-employee recently. She doesn't dress terribly but she always wears rubber flip flops and it drives me bonkers. Thong sandals are great for the beach or other casual settings, but not at the office. And she also will kick them off and walk around the office barefoot. Wtf.

    I mean, it's gross. But I'm not going to tattle on her because then I become the office snitch. If it's that big of a problem HR will probably notice and take care of it, KWIM? Also I'm kind of a terrible person in that if someone is going to make an *kitten* of themselves at the office - who am I to stop them. Let them look like a dill hole. Looks bad on them, not you.

    Coworkers sometimes do things to annoy me, but I never go to my boss about it, because I figure I want to be able to do what I want to do without being btched about, and they're just making me look good in comparison anyway.

    Act like she has spinach in her teeth. Take her aside and say, "Maybe you didn't realize, but that top is totally see through and everyone can see your underwear." Have a tank top or something available so that she has a graceful way to cover up.

    It not only makes her look bad, it makes the company look bad. People are very judgemental, especially clients/business partners. If I were in there, making a business deal, and saw that... It wouldn't bode well.

    i wear flip flops when im at my desk at work but anytime i get up i put my dress shoes back on. only cuz my shoes are uncomfortable. haha. i dont walk around in them though

Sure, her body was bangin' but it still didn't reflect appropriately on the company when she would come to work with leather pants that left nothing to the imagination, tops that showed the lower back tattoo, or in one case, white bell bottoms slit up the side to the thighs. Her supervisor eventually talked to her about it when he was done looking, I guess. It wasn't up to me to say anything to her at all, that would have just created an awkward situation.

    Really...a sweater bothers you so much that you are asking random strangers on a fitness site their advise....its a sweater! Who cares!
    Let HR/Management handle...if it's THAT inappropriate...surely they would have seen too.

    I agree. Don't go to HR over this. I (personally) don't think they would take you too seriously. Plus, unless something is harming myself or others, I don't want to be the one eveyone has to walk on egg shells around. Let someone else be that person.

    Yeah - as a general rule you should never be able to see one intimate garments at work! EWWW!!

    I couldn't see myself going to HR about it to complain though. That seems a bit extreme. I think the "maybe you didn't realize" method would work better

    Eh I would just keep my mouth shut. It is the managers/hr depertment job to decide what violates dress code and enforce it.

    I am frequently in this situation. I don't really care personally, because it's their body and I'm quite sure they know what they look like when they left the house.

    If her boobs were in my face all day though, that would be different. Otherwise I just ignore it.

    Next time she wears it Walk by her and say " Nice Bra" and walk off....

    Hopefully she will get the hint, We had a gal in our medical office who's scrubs were ripping out and would often wear them weeks in a row, they would begin to smell like rancid cooking oil,,,it was bad, and a very aqward conversation to have with someone,,, good thing I didnt have to do it!

    Yes, I have seen that happen in my work environment. I work at a Financial Institution so you need to be sort of conservative.

    I don't do anything because I really don't care what others wear. In my mind I might be making fun of them or thinking how innapropiate but it isn't any of my business.

    Going to HR is a bit too much IMO
