Uh oh, did you eat it after 7pm?

No, no, it's midnight you have to worry about...

    I thought it was 6?

Yes you did, and the sad thing is that calories from the Burger King meals can never be burned off.

    mean
  • Due to the ridiculous sodium amounts and more ridiculous calories found so often in the majority of restaurant food, you probably did. I know with all the eating out that I've done the last several days, the number on the scale was up a couple pounds, however, I'm not overly concerned about it, as I know that it will be worked off AND the majority of it is water weight (only know this for my body because of past experiences). Don't fret, just keep pressing forward. :)

This is a good time to try science

Step 1. Weigh yourself and record in notebook
    Step 2. Eat burger king
Step 3. Reweigh yourself and record in notebook

    Draw conclusions

should one log the exercise calories from drawing conclusions? is that in the database?

One MUST wear a lab coat while performing any scientific hypothesis work otherwise they are already wrong.

For goodness' sake do not weigh wearing the lab coat though. It'll add lbs. And put the clipboard down...

You really will not know if you did or not, it's your overall eating habits for at least a week. So forgive yourself and start fresh with this program. Be diligent in accounting your food intake and exercise and I suggest weight yourself once a week same time and record it. I can guarantee that you will loss the weight if you do not go over your allotted calories in a day. Remember you earn calories also when you exercise, so if you want to eat cake or food with high calorie just earn more calories. Good luck! I myself already lost 15lbs since I joined myfitnesspal.com. It is not drastic weight loss which I like and I feel healthier doing it slowly without punishing myself for overeating in one day.

  • I don't think so hun. If you've been good for the whole week, one day shouldn't get you down - as long as you exercise and continue being healthy. :)
  • As long as you ordered it with onion rings and a milk shake you shouldn't have gained any weight.. The more you eat from fast food places the better your diet will work.. Yesterday I had 4 pizzas and then went to cold stone and I lost 7 pounds!! It's crazy I love food nom nom nom

    Best reply ever.

    OMG tooo funny!!!

my question is that did I gain weight from the meal yesterday?

First, I'm going to go with others - welcome aboard! Your weight this morning is your starting weight. Don't worry about what happened yesterday, because you're starting today and you only have to worry about today, tomorrow, and every other day you can control for the rest of your life. Yesterday, you can't control, so you forget about it right now and start working on today and tomorrow.

As to actual weight loss from a burger, the answer is "yes, you can gain weight", but the answer is also not as dire as you might think, because very little of that weight will be our common enemy, body fat.

Most of the weight you will have gained from that glorious repast is water. Why? Because fast food is very salty, and salt has sodium, and when you eat too much sodium your body is forced to dilute it in water to flush it out of the system, and the water is retained for a day or two in order to make it all happen. The answer is to drink a reasonable amount of extra water to accelerate this diluting/flushing process, and the water weight will go away on its own.

Of course, if you eat them big sandwiches every day and you have to start worrying about their calorie content, but as a one-time event, if it happens in the future - log it and learn from it, then move on.

  • Thats not true about not burning off burger calories, your body does not differentiate between a burger or an apple, calories are calories.

    Draw conclusions

Conclusions based on changes in scale weight from one day to the next is a horrible idea.

    *fail*

BUT IT IS SCIENCE AND THEREFORE IT IS RIGHT. #science
