When Do You Log your Food

I'm just wondering when everyone logs their food into their diary... immediately after you eat, just before you eat, or some other time?

I generally plan the day before and then tweak it if anything changes.0

I tend to do mine all at once in the evening when i have the time. I have on occasion logged it straiught after a meal, but im not usually fussed i'd rather just do it all in one go and get it over and done with0

At the end of the day, or straight after if i am near a computer0

I log it as I am eating it. Otherwise I may tend to forget something or end up at the end of the day with more calories than i thought.0
-
Throughout the day, unless I'm going out to eat, at which point I typically pre-plan and pre-track my meal0
-
All throughout the day. Sometimes I plan things into my day, and fill in the rest as I go.0

I log it right after I eat it or as I'm eating.0

I tend to log my breakfast, lunch and dinner in the morning (or the night before) as I tend to know what I'm eating (or leave some flexibility if I only know parts of what I'm eating)
Then I can look in the morning and know how many calories I have for snacking and then I tend to log my snacks either just before I eat them or just after if I can0 -
Generally speaking, I log the night before/in the morning and tweak throughout the day as needed.0

As I'm eating, or as I'm preparing a meal to see how many calories it's totalling. I use the recipe section a fair bit, put it all in, tweak it, and work out how much of it I can eat.
But definitely as I go along, or I'd never remember everything. There are so many little things I used to take for granted that I now realise tally up quickly, and I log absolutely everything down to the last herb.0 -
I try to log it right after I eat it but that is not always a choice I have....by the end of the day anyway. There have been times I log it before I eat with a plan to eat well and then don't ....then I have to change it. Same with the exercise.0

if not, i always end up over0 -
i do mine as i go! i am a firm believer of bite it write it!!! thats my motto0

If I know what I am having for dinner I will log it first thing in the morning. That way I know what I can have for the rest of the day. Other things, I will log right before I eat.0

I used to log when I was cooking it or as I sat down with my plate, but lately f I know exactly what I'm going to eat that day, I've been logging it when I wake up. Not like there are many surprises in my diet these days, which is convenient.0

I log in advance, so my meals are planned out for a few days. If something changes I tweak it.0
-
I also plan and pre-log my food and edit if there are changes. I prefer to do it this way because it gives me more time to find another snack if I need calories to reach my goals or to skip a snack if I'm over. I like knowing ahead of time what the day is going to be like.0

With the app throughout the day - so easy to 'forget' what I've eaten otherwise!0

Usually afte I eat it so I can keep track better and not forget something.0

As I eat it ---that way I do not forget anything.0

pretty much this. I tend to sit down to log dinner in the afternoon so see just how I might need to tweak foods to fit my day or to set myself up mentally to not snack while cooking etc.0 -
I usually plan my meals out the day before, then tweak as necessary and add snacks during the day.0

I log Breakfast, lunch and snacks first thing in the morning. I log dinner right before I eat. This way it helps me stay focused and I know exactly what I'm eating and how many calories I have left over if I need an extra snack. It also helps me feel less guilty about grabbing that snack after dinner- because I know my leftover calories already I don't feeling like I'm cheating.0

It's all different for me. Sometimes I log before I eat to stay on track, sometimes I log right after I eat in case I can't make up my mind, and sometimes I log everything at night before I go to bed if I'm having a busy day.0

A week in advance.0 -
i do it at LEAST a day in advance, but usually I'll sit down and plan up to 4 days to a week. It helps me stay on track and stick with my meal plans, and plus then I'll know what to buy at the grocery store already :-)0
-
I log my breakfast lunch and snacks in the morning and dinner before I eat it0

A week in advance too. I use this as my menu planner and shopping list. My week runs Saturday through Friday. Saturday mornings I pick up a produce basket at my produce co-op and then head to the grocery store with my list of items needed based on the menu for the next week.
I tweak daily, usually at the end of the day. Sometimes I forget to pack something for lunch (like a snack item) or I only ate half of what I thought I would, or I had something to eat that I didn't plan for, etc. So at the end of the day I log in and make adjustments to the preplanned menu so that it reflects what really happened that day.
For me, if I didn't plan out a week in advance, I'd make bad choices every day. And if I don't have meals planned in advance, I'd never stay under my calorie limits for the day; I'd exceed over and over. At least I finally recognize that about myself....0 -
First thing in the morning. I bring my breakfast, lunch, and snacks to work with me and usually know what we're having for dinner. I like to have a plan, it helps me stay focused. I will tweak things as I go along if I skip a snack or if my husband surprises me with dinner or something.
I also log my exercise in the morning as it makes me feel like I HAVE to do it. I makes me too guilty to go in and remove it if I skip.0
