goal weight for 5'8"

Curious what others have set their goal weight that are about 5'8"
Mine is 145 and maybe a bit more when I start adding some more muscle hopefully

    I always thought I had a medium frame at 5'7" almost 5'8", but after finding out I lean towards a large frame I set my goal to 165.

    I am 5'9" and my goal weight was 140, I'm currently 138 (and trying to maintain).
  • I'm 5'7 and some change and my goal is between 170 and 180. I have a big build and that's where I'm most comfortable. I miss my size 9 pants ans medium t- shirts lol. Can't wait to get back there.

    I'm 5'9" with a large build. My goal is 165, but I've never been even close to that as an adult. As I get closer I'll adjust it up or down to what looks good on me.:happy:
  • I am 5'8 with a large frame. My goal is 150-155. Will see how I look and feel when I get there and

  • I'm a large frame and have set mine at 165 or so. If i get lower, great but I was always comfy at that weight, so it's where I am aiming for.

    5'9", medium-large frame, at 148 and happy, but would ultimately like to get to 20% body fat.

    5'8" ish, small frame, going for 140 to be smack in the middle of the BMI, with a good % of weight being muscle
  • I met with a personal trainer yesterday and he told me because I have a very small frame that I should shoot for 135 instead of 145. He said I was the first Guy he has ever met with a 26" waist.

    I am 5'9 and currently 145....want to lose another 5lbs and then do some more building! I love heavy lifting and it makes all the difference!

    I'm 5'8 and 160 is my goal.

    That might change though.

    It's been a long time, but the last time I was at 180 I was thin.

    I'm a large frame person (thumb/finger just barely touches) and have a goal of 175. However, at 188, my clothes are fitting in the size I want (32/34 waist), I have greater flexibility and endurance, I just feel better, and, oddly enough, I'm starting to look just a tad gaunt (according to my wife). I may reset my goal to around 180, depending on how I feel and look when I get there. And that's the best indicator, if you ask me. Charts and graphs and all that are "interesting", but how you feel about the body you'll inhabit is way more important.
  • When setting your goal I suggest you consider your lean to fat ratio. Find out how much lean body weight (muscle, bone) you have verses actual fat. Then you can decide how much fat you need to lose. You don't want to lose any lean body mass trying to get a number that might not be best for YOUR body!

    I'm 5'9 and my goal weight was about 145, but I think I'm more focused on inches now. I'd just like to lose a few inches everywhere! If only I could get some rehab for this scale addiction!

    5'8 with a large frame. I'm aiming for 150, but I'm open to reevaluating my goal as I get closer to it. I was decently skinny at 169 in high school, but I still wore a size 10-12 pants. I still had the budda belly at this weight (that I have a larger version of now! lol), so I could have been smaller.

    I'm just a hair under 5'9"... goal weight is 135-ish. That's where I've been most comfortable. For a woman I think it's not too thin.
