Elk meat. Years ago, a good friend had invited my husband and me over for a dinner of elk burger. The friend was pretty proud that he was serving us a meal that he'd hunted, bagged, butchered and froze himself. As I took a bite, I smelled something. Not sure what it was, or where it came from. I wasn't real impressed with the flavor of the elk ( I'd had elk plenty of times before this). Anyway, I chewed it up. Went to take my next bite...same smell. Awful. Like something rotten. Then I had a hunch. I made sure the friend wasn't looking, and then I sniffed my burger. Yep, that's where that awful, rotten smell was coming from. At this point, I HAD to say something, because it was obvious to me that this meat was spoiled. And once I said something, the guys smelled their burgers, and we were all pretty grossed out. I have not been able to eat elk meat since then. That was over 30 years ago.0

I choke on PB2. But I still eat it.
I can't eat Roasted Red Pepper Hummus anymore after getting sick afterward. I just associate it with vomit.0 -
I never choke...NEVER0

Taco Bell. Had a very unfortunate night following Taco Bell two years ago, haven't touched it since.
When I was a kid I had a hard time chewing cuts of meat, like chuck steak, pork chops. My parents would make me take the grisely chewed up piece of meat out of my mouth and break it into smaller bites so I could swallow it. I REALLY have an adversion to pork chops now.0 -
Southern Comfort.
Thanks... I think I just had a flash back :sick:0 -
Corn Dogs, blech ... When I was 7 I tore into a corn dog because I was so hungry. Turns out it was spotted and spoiled. Vomited immediately.0

Jack Daniels.
When I was 16, I went to a "party" and we were doing shots of jack and jumping on the trampoline.
I got hungry and ate a tuna fish sandwich I found in the fridge.
Afterwords, I had to go home to meet my girlfriend but, I wasely decided I was too drunk to drive so, I took the go-cart that was in the garage.
Once I got home I was in BAD shape.
My Mother told me to go lay down in the bathroom and, as long as I had my head tilted JUST right, the room stopped spinning.
Well, my girlfriend came over and gave me a playful kick to the ribs to get me up. Three hours of food and drink reappeared.
For YEARS I could not even stand ther SMELL of wiskey.
Even today, at 42, I still cannot drink American wiskey. I was able to drink a little bit of Irish wiskey and some home made stuff but, the Jack Daniels kills me.0 -
I've thrown up twice at TGI Fridays... actually, I still eat there, lol.
I've also choked many a time on a mozzarella stick... again, I still eat them.
I guess I just love food too much.0 -

As a kid, I choked on a huge piece of cabbage. I don't avoid it, but I am very careful and stressed when I eat it. Same with mozzarella cheese in cheese sticks. It's so stringy!0

Choked on tomato soup when I was like 6. Can't stand to look at it, smell it or even talk about it and it makes me gag! Bleck!0

None! I have the throat muscles of a snake. I've had stuff stuck in my throat but I could always some how just like make it come out...?
Hahaha perverts.0 -
I f*cking HATE sprinkles because my mom used to open up my pills as a child & mix the little ball thingies into applesauce to get me to take my meds (pneumonia + bronchitis). Nothing like crunchy *kitten* in your MF applesauce. Thanks Mom. I guess that kinda ruined applesauce for me too.0

canned peas... they make me vomit....lol0

Those Brach's butterscotch candies. You know, they're round discs, the perfect size for getting stuck in a child's esophagus. Almost choked to death on one when I was about 9 years old. I'm still too scared to eat them.
I also almost choked on a tortilla chip, but that's just because I'm a gluttonous piglet. I was mowing down the chips so fast I didn't chew them well enough, and when I swallowed, a jagged chip got stuck in my throat. It wasn't completely obstructing my airway, but I could feel it stuck there and it was so sharp that it hurt. I tried drinking water, then tried eating more to try to push it down, and then started to have an anxiety attack and felt like I couldn't breathe (from the panic more than the chip itself). It FINALLY went down. I don't avoid chips (I'm not insane!) but I do CHEW my food slower and more thoroughly before I swallow it.0 -
Honey buns and butterfingers...I am gagging just thinking about them. The only thing I ever choked on as a kid was a nickel and those really aren't a part of my regular diet.0

I once spent the night of a bad break up with a cheap bottle of tequila and now I'm pretty selective about my tequila.0

I nearly choked to death on a piece of meat when I was about 3 but I don't remember it. Then I nearly choked to death on a tootsie roll when I was 9 months pregnant. I still fear tootsie rolls but I still eat them.0

Sweet-tarts. I love em but I almost choked to death on one when I was a teenager. Felt like it was going to take forever to get the thing to melt.0

Does shots of pineapple upside down cake, count? Let's just say I partied a little too hard the day I graduated college...

Th isn't a food, but, psyllium husks capsules. Last month I bought this for the first time for digestive purposes. So the first time I took it, fine, the second time, the pill just kind of lodged there, and no amounts of water would flush it down. And all I could keep reading was warning, drink with plenty of water, pill may enlarge in esophagus and cause choking :noway:
So no more. Now I break those capsules open and stir them into my water.0 -
The last shot of Jameson I took made me literally wheeze afterward. Like I said, it was my last shot.0
-
Water chestnuts. The crunch of them sound like when you accidentally step on a junebug or a snail. BLARGHHH.
My mom sneaks them into her pancit, and if I accidentally bite into one, I gag.0 -
Jaeger. *shudder*0
