I'd like to see you attempt that. Lol.

Is this a private showing or can anyone watch? lol

    This could be profitable..

  • Some friend, huh? Lol.

I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Haha...yeah. She redeems herself, though. We were discussing the books in front of her husband. He mentioned that a couple of his co-workers mentioned that their wives had been so turned on by those books. She replied, "I know those *****es. They're prudes. Of course, they were turned on by that crap." He just shrugged his shoulders and winked at her. (She and her husband are rather adventurous. But he probably doesn't know that I know that.)

I had a couple other books waiting to be read when the "phenomenon" hit.

Glad I stuck with them, because I've heard the writing is crap.

I haven't read it, nor Twilight :noway:
I made myself read Twilight because my teenaged daughter and niece were reading them. I barely got through the first book.
And then I read one of the True Blood books because a coworker lent it to me, saying "If you didn't like Twilight, try this one! You'll like it much better!"
No more for me, please. I'll go back to reading my non-fiction.

    never read it.

Doesn't everyone just skip over all the boring, poorly written parts and skip right to the secks anyway? =P

For the record I have not read it and I am not really interested either.

I have zero interest in reading this book. Ever. Even if it was the last book on earth. Just on principle.

The writing is so bad, I couldn't even skim through it without laughing my *kitten* off.

I've not read the twilight series...just saying...

    Nope.
I downloaded the first chapter (freebie) on my Kindle and decided that it was so badly written that I wasn't prepared to pay money for the whole book, although I am curious to know what all the hype is about.

Stay clueless, unless you feel your IQ needs to take the hit.

Worst thing I ever tried to read.

No I decided to boycott it because everyone I know and their mother was reading it. I am known for reading alot and its funny to say I havent read it and dont plan to when someone comes to me all excited and wanting to discuss the characters since they automatically assume ive read it. Hehe. Sounded funnier in my head. Lol. I like the JD Robb series for fluff reading and just finished The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Wanted to try Atlas Shrugged. Has anyone read that? Reviews? Or Lolita? Heard that one was a little mind blowing though.

I made it through about 100 pages out of sheer curiosity.

Cannot get those 100 pages back...

Also, this is pretty much what I thought about this book: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/340987215

It's like watching videos... do I REALLY need to see how the blonde cheerleader happened into the boy's locker room?

I haven't read it, nor Twilight :noway: Sacrifice me now, but truly and honestly I believe vampires should burn in sunlight, not sparkle and glitter. Just my opinion.

In total agreement! I think that vampires should be bloodthirsty villians. I have just never quite got used to the whole idea of vampires being romantic figures.

Oh and I have not read Fifty Shades of Gray nor do I intend to.
  • Oh dear god....RUN away from these books!! I skimmed them out of some morbid curiousity and apparent desire to annihilate my IQ......

Save yourself. Learn from my mistakes and don't cave to peer pressure!!! You'll never get those precious few hours of your life back.

I have not. (Simple and to the point.)

    I haven't read it either.

I have no desire to read it:)

Not me. I like to read things that give me different perspectives and make me think.

If I want to read something porn like, I'll just watch it instead ;P
  • Haven't read it and don't plan to. Apparently they are making a movie out of it too...AWWWWWKWARD

No. Have no intention of doing so, either. Don't even want to know what it's about.

I haven't and I heard it was absolutely awful. Plus I refuse to read fanfiction for Twilight unless its a) a crossover and/or b) makes fun of it. Are they seriously making a film version of this crap? My estimation of mankinds' collective IQ has dropped significantly.

Have no clue what it is, besides what you said in your intro...........or what ever you call these thingy's

I haven't either and never will. Not my cup of tea, but then again twighlight wasn't either and I've heard the main characters are largely based off of the main characters from that...but with bondage sex thrown in?

If you search Tonjes Reads 50 Shades of Grey on youtube, there is a hilarious video of a vlogger quasi reading the first chapter with some awesome commentary.

No you aren't. I downloaded the free first chapter or so not really knowing what it was and it wasn't the obvious erotica to come that turned me off. It just didn't interest me nor did it seem like a good book on any level to me.

Nope, I haven't read it and don't want to either - I'm not into "girly" books, and for that reason I haven't wanted to read Twilight either (or see the films for that matter - if I want to read about vampires, I'd read Interview with a Vampire or something along those lines), I'm happier reading about detectives and murder
  • Not into mindless romance. I mean, I've read romance books, but ones that are usually well written. I like to read sci-fi and fantasy, and educational, scholarly books. (I'm an english major, the scholarly books are just part of the territory).
I like stuff like The Hollow Kingdom Trilogy, The InkHeart Trilogy, Valiant and Iron Side by Holly Black
Stuff that's fantasy and faerie tale-ish.
Oh, and comic books. I LOVE comic books.
