What a wonderful day for black team Shuntae.....skinny minny!!!! Sara with a sponser and Bobbi with a princess!!:drinker:
Oh and it appears the procedure worked for me as I am 70% pain free:bigsmile:
:drinker: Cheers to good news!!:drinker:0 -
I just have to say that I have found a "diet" snack that I like and I think I can make it at home. There are no diet aids in it just puffed wheat and some other stuff. they are Full Bars.
I should have 2 wedding cakes and the first wedding cake bride/groom saw my Mets cake and said that they wanted me to make that too for his sisters birthday! I have a excel spreadsheet set up and I am giving them a great deal way lower then the spreadsheet says but they are friends of friends and her parents are both unemployeed so they don't have a ton of money for their wedding. Hope they decided yes.
Even MORE good news!! WOOT!
Word of mouth is the cheapest advertisement!0 -
Jeannie - YAY! that is so exciting for you! *hugs*
Marla - Oooooh! I wanna know! Prayers sent your way that it comes through!!!
Shuntae - Hilarious! Some people are just crazy.
Bobbi - a tiara! That is the cutest thing I've ever heard.0 -
Not sure if it would be prudent to tell you with whom right now-- but loreeb especially (and I think Mrs. Beans, if I remember correctly...or Sam? Shuntae?? Or all of the above-- can't remember all of you) will find it very interesting. You'll drool over it--
YAY fingers crossed for Sarah. But so not fair to not say if it is drool worthy!!!
Agreed.0 -
Jan, thank you for your timely story!! I got on the scale today and for the first time saw a real increase in my weight. I jumped on here to read the challenge for the week because I knew I have to be accountable. My friends here love me and will not judge..........but will whack me upside the head outta love too!!
So I read your story.......one of success and of regression..........and I remembered the times I lost weight only to gain it back and feel like crap about myself.
I really needed to hear that while it is 3 pounds and not 30!!
You WILL do this!!
As for the night time food....Andrew, do you have a camera in my house:huh:
Never night snacked before but have gotten into the habit of a bowl of sugar.....er I mean cereal now. I am snooping for snack cakes and candy bars.....WTH is this....
Tomorrow is a new day!!
Thanks Black Team!:flowerforyou:
Thanks Jeannie,
Sorry about the long story  I think we can all do this with eachothers help. The accountability is awesome here.0 -
Jan-- so glad to hear your story. And it's unreal how quick people are to notice and "tsk, tsk, what a shame" when we see people regain their weight. We were watching "Huckabee" the other night, and I hadn't seen the guy in forever. First thing I blurt out to my husband..."He's getting fat again-- what a shame."
I know those that don't understand will feel a sense of satisfaction seeing people regain their weight. I felt so sad for him. "Mike, old buddy, old friend-- I know how hard it was to lose that weight-- you took off 100 pounds, I've only taken off 40 and it was brutal-- buddy, don't gain it all back-- pleeeeeease!!!!!!!!"
But it happens-- so glad to have this group to hang with who will knock me, as Jeannie said-- love you all.
Tamara-- I guess it was hard for your "real life" friends to see you "brag" for lack of a better word about the calorie burn on facebook. They don't get it, and I'm sorry you got your feelings hurt. Doesn't mean they don't love you, but they're just not in that world-- they don't understand it.
I think you're wise to keep that here. Tell us-- we'll crow with you, cry with you, brag with you, encourage you, kick you, comfort you--
Andrew-- I'm not much of a nighttime snacker, but occasionally I will indulge-- this is good-- thanks.
Busy day today-- wow-- need to scoot.
12-16 inches of snow forecast-- go figure.
Love to all--
Marla,
I do need this group to "slap" some sense into me sometimes. Congrats on the 40 lbs off. I can't wait to be there...again.0 -
Good Evening everyone!
Jan - thanks for sharing your story. I get so inspired with everyone's stories. Would love to see that magazine cover. I bet it was great!:flowerforyou: Andrew, sorry for not posting to you. I'm ok with that though, it didn't move much.. It will look better next week.
Thanks Donna. Here is the magazine cover hope it comes thru..

Jan - I needed this right now. Thank you for your story! I was on MFP & lost 50 pounds...from 196 to 146. Stopped logging, thought I had it under control. Came back in January at 170.6. YIKES! But like you said, it is a life time journey. Some people are naturally skinny...the rest of us have to challenge ourselves & keep ourselves in check on a daily basis. Good luck to you reaching all of your goals!
I'm so glad to hear you were able to lose on MFP. I am sure you can do it again! I have been a member since last year but really did not follow a group. I am so thankful that the Black Team had openings and let me in. Now, I hope they don't change their minds later and kick me out (LOL)0 -
Jan...Thanks for sharing your story. It is so similar to mine. I have lost weight and gained it back more times than I can count. I hope to reach my goal and stay there and get off this crazy yo-yo ride.
Thanks Tamara for reading the loooong story and yes I agree with you I need off this this yo-yo ride. Kicking and screaming I want off.:laugh:0 -

Oh and Donna it was a true blessing to be able to do it. My husband got a kick out of telling people that he is married to a cover girl. :blushing:0 -

Loree-- I can't wait to tell you-- there are clues hidden in my message who it is.
If you figure it out, PM me.0 -
   ANY ONE HAVE AN IDEA HOW MANY CALORIES YOU BURN WHEN YOU SHOVEL SNOW???? I worked up a sweat . Richie
"Shoveling - snow
435 calories in 1 hr"
This is the calculation for a 160 lb person--

I hope everyone is having a good week. I feel like I can never keep up on all the posts! So much to talk about.
I am proud to say that I have gotten to 20 pounds lost so far. I'm pretty nervous because I have never been able to loose more than 15 pounds in all of my dieting history. It has always been 15 pounds or 1 month...which ever comes first and I quit.
Well, this time it has been 20 pounds and 1 month and 25 days so I'm hoping this may be the straw that broke the camels back. Maybe this will allow me to get past this and reach my first goal.
I'm sticking to it and doing everything I can to break my old pattern. :noway: I've worked out differently, ate differently and recieved support differently (that's where you all come in ...thanks). I have seen photos and heard stories from all of you which has motivated me to stay on that darn elliptical machine:ohwell: that I have learned to actually not hate so bad because the pain isn't so severe anymore.
All these things are little lessons along my way. So, I say, thank you for your stories and support.
I may be watching/reading/listening from the background but belive me I get the messages loud and clear.
Thank you...your Black Team Buddy.

Curse the girl scout cookie! :grumble: Ate a late supper so technically I'm still okay with our challenge this week.0

Tanya, hope your little guy is ok.
Beans- I would eat too after dinner if I ate at 4 or 5. It is a lifetime journey, something I realize more and more daily. I never understood why people say keeping it off is harder than losing it. I think I get it now. When you are losing, it’s new, it’s exciting to see the numbers change, etc. When you are maintaining you still work your *kitten* off and see nuttin’! Hard to keep the motivation there.
Kati- sometimes I wish I was a little bit more like you with projects. I start them and turn into maniac obsessed women to get them done. I will do hard physical labor from sunup to sundown. We have an outdoor kitchen, it was part of this house that caught our attention. The Girl Scout Cookies did me in last weekend. 3 boxes between 6 of us. In one night.
Tammy- we live in a subdivision too and I wish we had ½ an acre. I grew up in the country, this is hard to get used to. Our backyard is fairly private since it’s fenced in, but I would love a little more space of our own.
Bobbi- I can only imagine now the amount of pink you are gonna buy! Have fun.
Shuntae- way to show ‘em up at work!
Marla- best wishes to your daughter! Can’t wait to hear the hottie.
Sam- good luck with the cakes
Jeannie- so happy to hear the pain is better
Jan- that magazine cover is cool!
Sara- so proud of you, keep it up!0 -
Sara-- you make me cry-- every time it clicks for another new friend, it warms my heart.
Sooooo proud of you.......so thrilled.0 -
Bobbi- A GIRL! How wonderful. I love little girls. Congrats!:flowerforyou:
Jan - GREAT COVER!!!! Winning losses…..HERE WE COME!!! I’m going to tell everyone I’m friends with a Cover GIRL!!!
Tamara - I find that I just have to be quiet about what I’m “trying” to do. I get myself all psyched up to eat healthy and then WHAM something sugary, irresistible comes along and I eat it! I don’t feel so proud….but if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around….does it make a sound???? So I don’t tell people or help people because I don’t want to be that failure that they are going to talk about. It’s why I love you guys…no judging…lots of therapy (I don’t have to pay for)
Tanya – Hope Thomas is ok
Shuntae - Love your story. I love (and will love again) when I see people from my old firm in the cafeteria say to me “wow you look great!”
Marla – Lots of good sponsor vibes coming your way for Sara. So excited on the possibility…WOW. A hottie? Can't wait for official news.
Sam – Awesome on the cakes! Word gets out and there’s no stopping you!
Jeannie- Glad to hear you are pain free
Sara – 20 pounds! Wow. I told DH if I lose 20 pounds I’m gonna leave him! HAHA. He wishes he could get rid of me that easily.
Kati – Amen sister…..Curse the girl scout cookie!
Well the winds are starting to kick in here and the snow is still falling...I'm really getting tired of winter! Marla looks like you're getting more than us
Well I have to start really training. I'm signed up for the Cherry Blossom 10 miler in DC on April 11th!....Shuntae, do you do that one? Friend of mine can't go and is transferring her number to me. I'm excited but now I have to focus on being ready. AAAHHHH Wish me luck!
have a great night everyone!
my Black Team!0 -
Morning all, so much happens after I go to bed   , thank you all for sharing - sorry can't name you all.........
Thomas has a badly bruised little finger that I have strapped to the finger next to it, to minimise his movement of it. We never made it to A&E as he can use it and only occassionally remembers that it hurts - typical boy  , although have John off today - he keeps dirtying himself and has given himself a red raw bottom, that I can not and would not expect his school to deal with :indifferent:
Walked to school with the boys, as although John is off he is fine within himself, so I wanted to tire him out a bit - but as usual all I have done is work myself out and the boys have as much energy as usual
Didn't make the challenge last night, had a packet of crisps after tea, as I didn't think ahead and take my exercise into account and didn't want a calorie deficit so made it up......... will try harder - promise0 -
Just saying good morning for now folks...will try to stop in later and catch up! So much going on with you all right now, its so exciting!:happy:0
-
Morning. Popping in to catch up. I'm sleepy. I've woke up at exactly 5:19 for the last 3 mornings. Weird. I realized yesterday it was the second day and even thought about it last night. Was dreaming nice and deep this AM, realized I had to GO, woke up, looked at the clock, 5:19. That would be better had I not gone to bed at 11:00. 6.5 hours of sleep isn't cutting it!
Anyway, trying to map out my day. New dishwasher is getting installed between 9 and 12. Don't you love the times they give? The installer said closer to 9 because we are the first install.
What that means for me is that I drop the kids off at school at 7:55, usually at the gym by 8:00, I only have 45 minutes to work out before I need to bolt out the door to sit and wait for dishwasher dudes. I thought about waiting and going later, but it's not the same. Different people, different time, throws me 'off'.
I think I'll go, run a 5K on the treadmill and head out. Better than nothing, right? Funny to hear myself say I only have 45 minutes to work out in a complaining fashion. I remember when getting myself to work out for 45 minutes would have been a great accomplishment.
Oh how things change!
Have a wonderful Friday all.0 -
Sara - It's like an "ah-HA!" moment when you get past something that you've never been able to before. I lost weight in the past on weight watchers & gained it all back & then some, had baby after baby after baby & only saw the scale go up in between pregnancies. After my daughter was born, my best friend directed me to this site & I never looked back. I hope this is your place to do that, too. *hugs*
I have the worst cold I've had in a loooooong time. Tried hard to reach my calories yesterday even though canned peaches :noway: was the only thing that sounded &/or tasted good. I think I hit 1100 cals...and the scale was kind to me this morning. :smooched: Even with 3 pounds of snot in my head, the scale liked me. Fingers crossed that it sticks through the weekend & into net Wednesday!0 -
3babybeans-I love the "ah-HA!" moment. I hope you get better soon. Water, water, water drink a lot.
Sara- Congrats on the 20 lb loss. GOOOOOOOOOOO Girl!!!0 -
