I make a pumpkin smoothie every day.

    1/2 cup pumpkin
    1 small banana
    1/2 cup plain yogurt
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
    1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Sounds so good. Here's mine if nobody has posted yet:

    1 c Almond milk
    1 frozen banana (small)
    1 TB Creamy peanut butter
    1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    1/2 packet stevia
  • These sound good. I just ordered a "personal size blender" and some protein powder. This will give me a lot to try. Thanks!

I don't know how it's made, but it's banana, orange, and pineapple. I always just throw all kinds of random fruit in the blender and see what happens!

My AM smoothie is great because it gives me the caffeine boost without all the sugar:

1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
    1/2 a frozen banana
    1 tbsp psyillum whole husk
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
4 oz vanilla coffee concentrate (I buy Cool Brew, but you can make your own with really strong coffee and freeze into cubes.)
2 oz more of water and some ice cubes.

    196 calories.
  • All of these sound fantastic!

Totally stealing these ideas! I have a protein shake/smoothie I'm trying later today. If it is a success, I'll come back and share the recipe. :)

I am definitely not looking for a low calorie smoothie when I make them, but it delicious and filling when you are on the run and need a meal replacement:

A Bit of Sugar Free Maple Syrup
    1 Banana
    Tablespoon of Peanut Butter
    Cup of Soy Milk
    Hemp Protein Powder

I pretty much always make a shake with unsweetened almond milk, a banana, a tablespoon of natural peanut butter, a scoop of protein powder, a spoonful of unsweetened cocoa powder, and a bunch of ground cinnamon. Oh and a couple of ice cubes.
  • canned pumpkin? or ...?

    1 scoop chocolate protein powder
    4 oz cottage cheese
    1 cup cold brewed coffee
    Spends and ice to taste

    Cold brewed coffee
    1 pound coffee
    1 gallon water
Mix & put in frig for 24 hours
    Strain through cheese cloth.

This makes a really smooth coffee concentrate.
  • 1/8 cup fat free vanilla yogurt
    1/4 cup nonfat milk
    6-10 strawberries
    1 tbsp sugar
    ice

    simple and delicious!!!

Thanks for starting this topic so I could get all these great recipes!

My latest favorite is what I call an 'apple pie smoothie' and I got the recipe from one of my MFP pals.

    2 apples
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    5 pecans
    1 frozen banana
8 oz almond milk (I use unsweetened)

It has lots of calcium, potassium, iron and 3 grams of protein while being low in sodium and only 7 grams of fat. Yummy!

I have been using Pb2 in my smoothies and I am loving it. It is powdered peanut butter. Only 45 calories for 2 Tblsp, and it tastes yummy with half a banana, flavorless protein powder, 1 cup of almond coconut milk and some ice. You can also add a tsp of cocoa powder if you want. Only about 210 calories.

I like Rachael Ray's Green Machine Avocado Smoothie. Here's her recipe:

    1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
    1 ripe avocado, coarsely chopped
1 small bunch spinach (about 2 cups of leaves), coarsely chopped
1/2 small bunch watercress (about 1 cups of leaves), coarsely chopped
A handful of seedless green grapes (about 1/2 cup)
A handful of flat leaf parsley or kale, chopped (about 1/4 cup)
    1 cup ice cubes
3/4 to 1 cup water or orange juice
2-3 tablespoons agave syrup or honey, as needed

I have since modified her version to use Greek nonfat honey yogurt instead of plain yogurt and to add dandelions (about 1 cup). I don't use ice cubes or agave syrup/honey. A little water is necessary because it will be quite thick in consistency.
