    Yep, old school metalhead here. I also had a punk phase and dig rockabilly stuff as well, but metal is my love.

    Okay I must chime in.....I love most any genre of music, but my heart is overflowing with yummy metal goodness!! I am friends with quite a few local Charlotte, NC area bands that you should check out if you are into the "cookie monster" music lol. I love that description now! They are A Vision Grotesque, Your Chance To Die, Shaokahn and Skincage. As far as popular music goes I'm just going to list a few:

    If you are free and available let me suggest going Carolina Rebellion 2012 at Rockingham Speedway in NC. Last year it was PHENOMENAL!!! They just announced yesterday that it will be May 5th this year and they are going to announce the lineup on Monday! Last year was the 1st year with 18 bands on 3 stages headlined by Avenged Sevenfold and Godsmack (which sucked live by the way) This year has to be even better!!

    Hey all, cool topic here! I am into old school punk (Ramones, ****ies, Swingin' Utters, Clash, Minor Threat), Rockabilly and Cowpunk (Cramps, Social D, X, Supersuckers, Deadbolt, Deke ****erson), Hardcore (DKs, Circle Jerks, Agnostic Front), and some emo too (Dag Nasty, Verbal Assault). Anyone else into these bands?

    Favourite band of all time is Tool! Also very fond of A Perfect Circle, Slipknot, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Deftones, Soulfly, Dimmur Borgir and so on.

    I'm also a big fan of symphonic metal and absolutely love Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation & Nightwish (Tarja days).

    Good to see a good bunch of fellow metal fans on here :)

    I personally would love an exercise DVD with eighties rock band music! I would love working out to the music of Slaughter,Vixen,Tesla ect. Come to think of it what I would really love is a "Just Dance eighties rock".

    Testament, Gamma Ray, Symphony X, Exodus, and Sonata Arctica are my favorite metal bands.

    The Doors, Pearl Jam, Rush, REO Speedwagon, The Who, and Heart are my favorite non-metal bands.
