What the EFF are the lyrics?!

Ok...I"m sure everyone out there has thought lyrics of a song were different...and then someone called you out on them?

For example...my most notorious one is Whitesnake's "Here I go Again"...I always sang "Like a TWISTER, I was born to walk alone!".. until hubs told me "twisters don't walk".

The next best one is The Offspring's "Pretty Fly (for a white guy)"...there is a line that goes "In his own mind, he's the dopest trick!"....I always sang "He's the jumbo shrimp!" Thanks to my bestie for reminding me that aint right... lol...

Are there songs YOU always sang wrong and never really noticed until someone pointed it out?

Greased Lightening. I always said, "and chicks agree" when it's really "and chicks will cream". Thanks, mom.

it's probably the most notorious misheard lyric of all time.

Also, I thought it was "coffeebean queen,...now we're sharing the same cream" lolol

  • My mom loves the Bee Gees and used to always play "More than a Woman" when I was younger. I was convinced it was "Bald-Headed Woman" :noway:

I always thought it was "Secret Asian Man" instead of Secret Agent Man. :(

A friend of mine interpreted ACDC's "Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap" as "Thunder Chief with the dirty knees". He would sing it that way in all seriousness, and couldn't understand why we were laughing so hard we were bawling.

When I was young and Kenny Rogers sang Lucille, he said "Four hungry children and the crops in the field" and I always pictured four hundred kids standing in a corn field...but in my defense, i was six!!! lol

    This song... So hard.

And Bennie and the Jets. The only reason I know ALL the lyrics is because my mom covered it in her band and I helped her practice the lyrics before a show.

Creedence Clearwater Revival. Almost their entire catalogue, Fogerty can't enunciate anything. My favorite...

The funniest one I can think of right off the top of my head.....

My daughter, not too long ago, heard "Livin' on Tulsa Time" and sang it over and over and over as "Livin' on Toaster Time" I still laugh thinking about it.
  • In the song "Margaritaville", for the longest time, I thought "Stepped on a pop-top" was "Stepped on a pop tart."

In the song "Margaritaville", for the longest time, I thought "Stepped on a pop-top" was "Stepped on a pop tart."

That could be because pop-tops were obsolete by - oh- 1975  You wouldn't even have that as a reference unless you're over 37.

"Wrapped up like a douche" yep. The next line, to me was "another moaner in the night".....not...correct .....

In the Manfred Mann version, he totally says "douche", repeatedly. You can tell on the Springsteen version that it's "deuce".

My favorite is "My *kitten* is the center hole" instead of "my angel is the centerfold".
