    First - as a former Little League All Star (I caught for the better part of 15 seasons from age 5 to 22), and second as a parent of 4 active boys - let me Thank You from the bottom of my heart for all your time, energy, coaching, and teaching sportsmanship, respect of others, and mostly self-respect for our youth. Not every kid is a team sports kid, and that is ok. But, I do think team sports is one of the BEST life skills teaching tools we have.

    Lastly - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! What an awesome achievement. I know you will have MANY other successes as you progress to meet your health and fitness goals.

    Way to go! And from a parent who has spent many, many hours at legal league ballfields watching my son, who is now 15 and still playing ball at the high school level, thank you for what you do!

    Awesome post!!! It must be really freeing to tell the truth about your shin guards! It reminds me of the story that I have carried with me about trying to get my jeans zipped when first putting them on..............having to lay down on the bed in order to get them zipped! I haven't lost nearly as much as you have, but I have lost, nonetheless and not only can I zip those jeans standing up, I can overlap them when they are unzipped about 3 inches! Unfortunately, I am now battling pre-diabetes which has slowed my progress, but I am still determined to reach my goal weight, no matter how long it takes!
