Seriously. I am 2lbs heavier than I was on Saturday and it is Wednesday. I ate a bit more (probably maintenance), but not enough to gain 2lbs. lol. I went and worked out on Sunday as well and I was already a little heavier than I started. Is there anyone else who gains at this time?

Most woman do, it's just water retention and will go away when TOM is over.0

Lots of people (if not the majority) do, its just water weight. I don't weigh myself, but I can tell the difference in how my clothes fit.0

I jump an easy 5 pounds... one day I'm at goal weight, the next day I have 5 pounds to lose.
So I look in the mirror. If I'm happy with what I see and I haven't turned into a blimp overnight, I keep on.0 -
It's not just you. I tend to put on a few and get bloated big time...and kinda cranky and want to eat everything in sight too! Just enjoy your Thanksgiving. Maybe just watch your portions and chug the water.0

@tommygirl15 This is why your ID is named after him ! Lol jk I pray that is a coincidence hahaI jump an easy 5 pounds... one day I'm at goal weight, the next day I have 5 pounds to lose.

Not at all. I put on about 4 lbs. I just stop weighing myself during my TOM and move on with life. Chug water, exercise to prevent/get rid of cramps, and you'll come out the other side fine.0

PS... it's all in the flex... I swear I could post a before and after success story blog post with just letting my stomach relax and taking a pic and comparing it side by side... I should do that!0 -
I've decided to chart my weight daily so I can watch the patterns- there definitely is a give and take of about five pounds over the course of a month for me, and it isn't just once! I think it's water- it'll go!0

I gained 2 lbs once TOM hit last week. Yesterday I lost 2.3, Today I lost another 2.6. Im clearly not losing the weight, it's the TOM weight coming off and the 2 lbs I should have lost last week since I curbed my salt cravings.
I hate TOM. TOM needs to be much nicer to us ladies!!!!0 -
I have gained 10lbs just from TOM before, so no it's not just you. Now that I take blood pressure meds that have a diuretic in them, I don't gain nearly as much. Maybe 2lbs at the most now.0

5 pounds, there one day, and then gone 3 days later, literally overnight.0

I personally do because I haven't yet controled the hunger symptoms...0

Water retention and weight gain are common symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome. It's mentioned in all the Pamprin and Midol commercials.0

WHAT??? That can make you gain weight? I'm shocked and horrified. Please see a doctor.0

I often "gain" 5 lbs, right around my middle, due to TOM. Since I've increased my cardio time to an hour, minimum, 6 days a week, I no longer see that gain. I can't seem to completely stop the "Oh My Gosh, I Want To Eat EVERYTHING!!!" feelings, but I can moderate those at least.
You'll drop these off in a few days. Try to enjoy tomorrow, and not stress about gaining from one meal. You'll do fine! If you're really worried, go out for a nice walk or jog some time during the day tomorrow to help negate some of the calories you'll be enjoying.0 -
nope. Happens to me too.0

nope not just you, i gain a pound and a half to 2 lbs during, then about 3 or 4 days later back to the weight i was0

It is the only way I know when my wife is on hers. I have to butter the doorway from the hall to the ktichen so she can squeeze in to get to the cookies. Once I do that I hide in the basement until the screaming stops.0

Yep we all do. We usually retain water.
There are so many variables for the scale; water retention, digestion, hormones, allergies, sodium, carbs, water intake, DOMS, inflammation, the list goes on. People mistakenly think they lose or gain weight when they eat more or less because of these fluctuations.
Losing weight requires tremendous patience. You will not lose it when you want it or where you want it. The body does its thing. Some apparent plateaus can last a month or so. You cannot make it happen faster. You must focus on two things; calories and exercise. Nothing else matters. Scales and metrics don't matter. The day in and day out grind of exercise and calories are all that matters. It is not very exciting until things fall into place. You get your victories and you ride one victory to the next.
The scale is a trend tool. The scale is good but put it away and only check once a week and only use it as a trend tool. It will fluctuate, it does not matter. Take front side and back progress pictures at least once a month. You will see differences that the metrics won't tell you and it's that little bit of NSV that will keep you going until the next victory.0 -
its nothing for me to go up as much at 4 or 5 lbs.. the swelling and water retention is horrible. We will see how it is with drinking my water like I should etc...0
