Amy S (bahamom87) - You must be doing something right, even with the non-healthy calorie choices. That's amazing. I'm in the same boat. Need to make healthier choices. But those vanilla meringues are SOOOO good
izzypup.- I have seriously upped my water intake, and have found that I'm actually craving it now over diet sodas oddly enough. I think I'm burning more calories from just having to get up and go to the bathroom more.
Kristin (kistinbee) - I think weather change is going to see improvements in all of us. Kadence is probably loving the outdoors. Perfect age too. That extra hour of daylight is going to make a huge difference in our weight loss challenges.
Verda (vhuber) - Awesome on the weight loss. I'm in on that challenge. Weekends are where it gets hard for me, but with nice weather, who is to say I can't just walk outside for an hour. Kids and I are starting their C25K today. Thanks for the inspiration.
Amy (amypyr) - Keep up the progress. Those circuits are really kicking butt
Lauryn (Phoenix_Rising) - I know what you mean about choices. Something I started about 3 weeks ago, which actually helped was I got a calendar and started writing my thoughts every time I found myself starting to binge. It has made a HUGE difference. I began to realize that every time things got stressful with my DH, I would start binging. Now, I write down what is frustrating me and drink two bottles of water at the same time, and it has made a huge difference for me. Keep talking it out. You'll win this battle.
B (its_B) - Your pics have inspired me. Up until now, I ignored the backside. I took my DH word for it. Of course, he is legally blind. Silly me. I love your courage and your bathing suit. Keep posting with that weight loss. Great incentive.
Heidi(orangeoldies88) - You are an inspiration. Amazing weight loss.
For anyone I might have missed, I apologize, but I'm thinking about you.

I have decided I am going to weigh on Wednesday mornings. It gives me time to get the salt out of my system from the weekend. Even though I ate within my calories this past weekend, eating with my DH means I eat more salty food and it shows up on the scale.
You guys are totally the ShamROCKIN' Sixers. Great job to everyone who is still hanging in there and making changes. Next week will see even greater results.
How is this for team effort ladies? As a group, for those who have checked in, we have averaged a 1.5 lb weight loss a person (this week) so far in this challenge. Not too shabby0 -
trainer and i are working on changing and finding the right balance of my goals for food. as in carb, protein, fats. we have the area of calories narrowed. i think i might miss his insight when this ends next week. i don't have the money to pay for another 6 weeks. that's why i want this done now.
time for treadmill, than off to the shower and store for DH's batteries.

Good morning gals!
Last night was good and bad...good because I got in a half hour run on the treadmill when I got home and had a wonderfully healthy chicken and vegetable dinner, bad because I totally indulged later in the evening on sweets! But it's a start! I'm thrilled that I got another night of exercise in this week! Hoping to do the same tonight!!0 -

Good morning sixer sisters!
I had a great day yesterday! Got my walking in to pick up kids. Got my shred in last night after they went to bed. Got a little bit more in since I was able to actually make it through more of the cardio in circuit 1. I ate within my cals, but unfortunately, I ate some junk as well. It's my own fault for not grabbing something for breakfast before leaving for work. Instead, I ended up eating my snack crackers as breakfast and having left over mini powdered donuts mid morning. :grumble: Didn't get all my water in either. So...

Today is the beginning of a new week! I asked that we challenge ourselves to 64 or MORE oz. of water per day everyday for this week and I also asked you to challenge yourself to one hour of exercise everyday this week. I got some of you to commit to both with some of ya to just the water. My question is: Is the HOUR to much? Then PLEASE commit to at LEAST a 1/2 hour EVERYDAY! It will make you feel better!!!! Or like I mentioned to chipper, when doing an hour per day you can break it down to two half hour segments or three twenty minutes sesions or whatever! You girls can commit to this, come onnnnnnnn!!!! Get up a little earlier or pencil it in your daily planner whatever you gotta do to make YOU get to YOUR goal! Please do not go to bed tonite with regrets of weightloss woes!

I could use some motivation... i cant seem to get my butt to the gym so far today
I burned 834 calories last night!!! then went to my best friends and stayed the night with her. however while there i ate like a 1/4 of a bag of potato chips with dip.. Which i obviously had enough cals for! i just didn't want to eat so much sodium and such... So when i got up this morning I went to class, drank my first 24 oz of water, then came home... Well I want to see my friends on my favorite holiday!!!!!!!!!!! And the only time i have to do that is during this break in between classes.... But I committed to the hour work out challenge Verda presented!

Whew! Just got my 64 oz in! I forgot to take my water bottle with me to choir practice tonight.
I am just under my calories, but I didn't get my exercise in today. Wednesday's are usually too busy for me to have time to exercise. The kids have piano lessons right after school, then it's home to do homework and fix dinner, then on to choir practice. And I usually do my grocery shopping after choir practice. It's my "alone" time. :laugh:
I'll get that exercise in tomorrow! :happy:
I think I may have actually gotten the motivation that I've so desperately needed the past several years. I didn't get to exercise Saturday or today and I felt just a little guilty about not doing it. :noway: I used to not worry about it. Guilty isn't quite the right word, but that's the best one I can think of at almost 1 a.m.! :laugh:

dam body doing it's crap again. eat less move more and it gains weight. need to find the right combination. so frustrating.
i will prevail. DH tells me to just chill about the whole thing and be happy do what i know is right and move on. i really need to do that.
trainer today. i hope we flip tires again. finger still in splint. don't want to take a chance at breaking it open again in a dirty warehouse where we work out.

I did an hour at the gym, drank my 64 ounces, and stayed within my calories today. This week has seemed a bit hard with getting to the gym, but I still went everyday, so I feel good about that! Thanks for the challenge Verda. These challenges really help me.

Late checking in - it's been a weird week around here. Gained 1 lb - TOM and well - pizza last night. I've been without my car for a week now which is driving me nuts. DH was working late, DD and I wanted pizza and our fave pizza place doesn't deliver. So we walked 3 miles to the pizza place. For me, that's a lot of walking in one day. Had salad then 2 slices (and I ordered thin crust instead of thick). DH met us so we didn't have to walk back home - I really don't think I could've done it. But it felt great to walk and the muscles behind my knees are quite sore today. Tuesday was our first truly beautiful warm spring day. We went for a 2 mile bike ride that day. Good start on Verda's challenge. I just read about it tonight so I'll be sure to get my water and exercise in tomorrow. Anyway - it's really late and I'm beat. I'll come back tomorrow to do personals.0 -
checking in for the last couple days, I have been checking in briefly but haven't had time!!!
So each day i have gotten over 80 oz of water in, each day i have stayed within my calories, but i havent been to the gym since tuesday :grumble: It is now friday and it doesnt look like i will be able to go until sunday! :sad:
To explain I didn't read Verda's motivating post until later that night after i had spent the day hanging out and being a DD for friends. And then spent the night at a friends, went to class all day, followed with a minor hang out with the same group of friends, went home, and pretty much passed out... So I had the oportunity to work out both days and didnt :sick: I am bad... very very very very bad. and If i had set an alarm this morning I could have gone this morning too... :explode: I am stupid... GRRR , I am proud of myself for sticking with the water and monitoring my calories so well tho! But i failed the second part of your challenge Verda :sad: I will do EVERYTHING for next weeks challege though! I swears it!!!
So tonight I am working for my mom, she is hosting a gallery showing for a local artist. Hopefully we get a HUGE turn out... my mom could really use for something to go right in her life right now... Speaking of right, I need to keep myself from snacking tonight!!! SERIOUSLY going to test my food issues... I am not eating all day today just in case... well thats a lie, I am going to have an unwhich for lunch, but besides that i am not going to eat all day...
Sixers I can feel me falling into my old ways. Help me out!!!! The pictures are certainly helping but I can see if i dont push myself I am just going to fall right into my old ways!

Lauryn, Hey girl, you are doing just fine! Take one day and that one EXTRA step at a time! Fitness is something we must ease into or we hurt ourselves, stress ourselves, bore ourselves or just burn out! Change things up but try to keep your heart rate to where it is at least a little hard to breathe and do that for at least a half an hour then do some conditioning exercises. It does not have to be a all you got workout, you do your best and forget the rest!!!!! Hang in there sweetie, your STILL beautiful!!!0 -
Shoot! I forgot to post my daily report: I started this challenge because I needed to be accountable and I know my body needs this structure to achieve my goal!!!

I only have 400 cals left and I want buttered popcorn:devil: !!!! We will see if I cave in, I will tell you tomorrow!

I'm still alive guys. And hopefully finally turning the corner on this illness. I'm very busy and won't have internet til Tuesday. But I'll do as much as I can although this asthma attack has been a doozy.0

So, I remembered a couple hours ago that I'm supposed to be drinking water today. Ugh - got A LOT of water to drink to catch up. I might not make the full goal, but I can get at least 50 oz in I think. It is so nice to have beautiful weather. I have missed it so much that I will probably keep mentioning it for a while. DH and I just went for a little bike ride - just up and down our street for half an hour. I'll be pushing myself to jump on the treadmill tonight to get my hour of exercise in. I missed Lost last week so that's good motivation since I'll watch it on my laptop while I walk.

Tiffany (tbear358) - Welcome to the group. I'm not sure if anyone answered you but we do 6 week challenges and we just started Week 3 on Tuesday.
Amypyr - good snack choice - I like to have cereal when I have the munchies since it keeps me from eating too many calories and fills me up. Way to go on the water and exercise!! And darn pizza - it got me this week too.
Alison, Cathy, AmyS, Sandy, Verda, B, Heidi, Lorna, AmyLou and anyone else I missed - great job at being losers this week.
Kristin - It's only a pound. Not to worry. My pizza escapade the other night caused me a one pound gain at weigh-in, but most of it was gone the next day. Sounds like you are getting some good exercise in. Hang in there!
Cathy - Just wow on the tire flipping.
Lauryn - No worries - it looks like that little gain is coming right back off. Hang in there and if your back is feeling up to it, head back to the gym. It might help relieve some of the stress you are feeling. Just make sure you take it easy.
Tiff - I'm sorry your sick. Hope you feel better soon.

Okay i just popped on to finish logging, and let me tell you Verda you made me SET MY ALARM after reading your words. Your right, I want this, and I need to do this right!!! So alarm is set.
On a good note, I didnt snack very much at all tonight!!! I had two very small chocolate chip cookies, about 1/3 of a cup of spinage dip, with some hawaiian bread, and some sausage with sweet sauce... which for over 5 hours of being around food, I thought was a REALLY good! although i still think i managed to barely be under calories, and thats only if what i entered was even close to being right... so GYM! TOMORROW!!!

Lauryn- Aww *hugs* hey you dropped the gain, and you really want this. I am sooooooo happy that you talked to your Therapist about your relationship with food. I am glad you pegged the main source of your emotional eating as well! that is great, Just take each day at a time, it is okay to be sad, anxious, or angry, but try and focus on the good, the happy, the laughter! Laughter is truly what I think is the key to living a good life. And I am sure that since you are such a wonderful amusing person that your daughter is quite the comedian as well! Enjoy laughing, that's were true happiness lies! Keep me updated on your therapy, i am sure you prolly posted an update since that, but I must have missed it!
Verda - The forum is moving sooo slow!!! I think after this weeks challege we need to do a name conformation... I sadly think we have lost a few people. Others like Tamm and Amy I know are busy, but a few people havent posted in awhile... Did you give into the popcorn!!?!??! And you are going to yell at me again, but I didnt go to the gym this morning, and here is my excuse, I woke up feeling miserably sick. I think I should stay away from Spinach dip for the rest of my life. I feel bloated and miserable. I need to change my new motto to "NO MORE EXCUSES!!!" sigh. why is life so darn hard?!

And MY update...
I think I can still make it to the gym today though, If I babysit tonight I think I am going to take the kids to the gym with me, and play in the pool with them for an hour at least, that will allow for them to burn some energy and for my to me a little more active. If I dont babysit tonight then obviously its to the gym to burn some SERIOUS calories. So question, Why would my weight change DRASTICALLY in 24 hours? I weighed in this morning @ 209.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is a huge change from the 205 I was showing yesterday... The only thing I can think of is that I must be retaining water, and the stomach issues I am having this morning must be holding in weight or something... I am not sure,... Suggestions???
On a side note having some emotional issues today/last night... so today I left my wallet at home, and made sure I brought Healthy food to work. And some tea... but I dont want to jeopardize a gain the week before my birthday. I will lose over 2 pounds this week.. I want to be in onehundredom for my birthday... And tonight if i am babysitting i will make sure that I stay AWAY from all of the food the kids eat. Just water for me, I can do this, I am strong enough, and I want to look good in my damn bathing suit!!!!!!!!!

okay so I am going to get to go to the gym to work out tonight, AND babysit and take the kids to the pool!!!!!! YAY! I am getting my brother to finish the last 2 hours of my shift at the store so i can go work out, followed with leaving the gym to go get the kids and returning to play in the pool with them for a couple hours! so YAY everything is going to work out after all!

Good job "B" for MAKING exercise a PRIORITY to reaching that so wanted goal!! Lucky Kids tonite, my little grandson who is three would love you for his sitter!
I have met my challenge for the day. I RAN four miles with my furry kids then did stretching and squats to make my hour! Just about have all my H2O in for the day too (still have lots of day left so I know it will be consumed)!
