On here - the first time I posted on the boards I got 17 emails that day from the same guy. He kept telling me to email him and why didn't I have more pictures and then they got rude because I was apparently ignoring him and he was getting pissed off. I blocked him and he wrote me from another ID, so I blocked him there too.

In real life - too long and upsetting to type.. He actually ended up stabbing my boyfriend and I came close to being hurt as well. The stalker is currently in prison. I don't wish that experience upon anyone at all.
OMGoodness that is horrible!!! So glad he's serving time!

Several times when I was younger. One followed me for years, and managed to get every new screen name and email I had, leading me to believe it was someone I actually knew. It got to a point where I filed a complaint with my local police department, though nothing ever came of it. Eventually I learned to make myself was less accessible, and the problems subsided gradually.

Never. And not for lack of trying to get a stalker, too. No one wants to stalk me. *kicks rocks*

I refuse to believe it's me.

I had a prettttty serious stalker back in college when I worked as a hostess at a restaurant.

He would come every night I worked (like he memorized my schedule) and would buy one drink at the bar, slowly sip it, and talk to me. First couple times I was nice and chatted with him (it would be obvious to any normal person that I am just being casually nice because I work there and its my job). After that I always became "busy" with something when he came in.

Then one time I was walking to my car and I saw him sitting in his car in the parking lot....I went right back into the restaurant and had one of the guys escort me.

He drove off and I never saw him again. Had to get escorted to my car for a while after that though, freaked me right the eff out.

On the innnannets: I'm not worried, just block whoever comes off creepy right away. You don't need to give anyone a "chance" its not real life.

Have YOU ever been stalked in person!

Tell me what you would do or if this ever happened to you!

Yes I was stalked in early 2001. I had only just relocated to LA and I really have no idea how this man got my email and physical address - but he did. He sent me black roses every day for a week. Suppose, he hacked my computer or something because it did not matter if I changed or closed emails - HE WOULD WRITE ME.

The last straw for me, was when he'd written me describing what I was wearing, how my hair was done and what I was doing at the time. He'd also added that when I'd woken up the night before in mid-sleep, I was not dreaming, that that was him looking down at me. He then went on to write that I should look behind me and that he was in my backyard. My backyard was a terraced Italian flair garden. I reported him to the police which gave me some piece of mind at the time.

I decided then and there to move to northern California. Distance obviously helped stop punch that disaster.

What I could not understand was his obsession and how it even started. Creepy!

I would hate for anyone to experience the bad stalking.

As far as the cute not-really stalking, I get no stalking love...

Have YOU ever been stalked on MFP....other social networks or in person!

    This happened to me:

I believe this happened to me...the conversation was respectful but quite weird at times...as soon as any status change or if I made a comment on his status emails several...then it went from will you email again soon...I said if I have time after work I will but I'm not sure...then once I emailed...he would say to me....you promised you would email, I waited up for you, where was you... I woke up several time looking to see if you emailed...ok weird...then it was do you have any other progress pics what are you crazy...I did it one time then I thought this is crazy when he told me he looks at my profile many times a day...freakin me out a bit! My profile states Im a married woman with 2 kids and I have photos of hubby and I together...he said I thought you had a BF...I made this very clear that I have a husband...at first before the weirdness started I thought he was lonely and needed a friend to talk to but the the emails was strange...I really was considering deleting him he was acting very different then any of my friends on here but I thought well maybe I'm just over reacting and it's really nothing...so I talked to one of my most amazing long time male MFP friends...he said drop his azz and block him....I'm so glad I took the advice and dropped and blocked!!!

Tell me what you would do or if this ever happened to you!

Nope. I shut people down real fast and don't engage as soon as the first red flag goes up.

I had a stalker in college. The guy basically couldn't talk around me, but I tried to be nice. Then it just got kind of annoying. Then creepy. Then he actually put his hand on my arm at a school dance and two of my guy friends explained, nicely, that he really had to back off. My roommate was a little less nice about it. I feel protected.

Never been stalked. I don't participate in social networking-my philosophy is: Tell the people (your personal info) you want to know in conversation, personally. Why do people think that they are so relevant that the universe wants to know intimate details about them? My advice to my kids/students was don't put it out there, it will come back to haunt you. I can't tell you the number of people who can prove that statement, such as not gaining employment, stalking, etc... The world is NOT kind. That's my 2 cents!!!!

There's a new guy at my work that watches me sleep in my car on breaks. Does that count?

i think if he's watching you daily...i think it could be...move your car to a different spot away from the creeper!
