I was at 1230...but after I lost some weight...MFP now puts me at 1200. Being 5'3" and all....i guess that's all i need?

Hi I am on 1200 cal too, but I am doing the Tony Ferguson New thinking Plan. I love the Berry Delight Snack Bar as my Treat each day, it really tastes like cherry ripe to me so I get to indulge my chocolate addiction. This is my first Diet. I used to be really skinny (before kids and getting older). I'd like to have some friends going through this too0

What if I told you that 99% of you could eat 1600cals a day and lose just as fast if not faster than trying for 1200 a day.

What is your goal by consuming only 1200 calories per day?
Did you know that eating too-few of calories can actually cause our bodies enter starvation mode? The thyroid hormones needed to fuel your metabolism can’t be produced and our metabolism starts slowing down. Our bodies start clinging to fat stores as a source of energy and we become sluggish.
The ideal caloric intake is based off an equation that first calculates your BMR to include your height, weight, age, gender.

Once this number is established, the next step adds in your activity level in the Harris Benedict equation.

This final number is what you should be consuming on a daily basis. The ideal plan for your body is 40/40/20, meaning 40% carbs, 40% protein, 20% fat. This keeps your body in fat-burning mode while allowing the gain of lean muscle. It also allows your body to maintain a higher energy level and feel full longer!

Starvation mode is a myth. I have been successfully maintaining 1200 cals a day for over 7 months, and have lost about 25 pounds. No gimmicks, no weird diets, and no hunger. If 1200 works for you and you are seeing results, ignore the yahoos who will try to bring you down just because THEY can't hack it and think their way is better. No one way is better than the other.

You can add me! I'm at 1210 cals and my diary is open to friends. I work and go to school full time so I don't really feel up to exercising most days so I stick to my 1200 pretty much religiously. It's kind of fun to plan meals based on 1200 cals. It's like a challenge to get the most bang for you calorie buck. Haha.0

I'm at 1200 per day. But I do add back in around half of my exercise cals per the site. So I'm around 1300-1400 per day.

Hi. generally I m at 1200 cal person.
I try n learn to eat whole grain, veg & protein n healthy clean diet as much as I know how to. And after less than 2 years. It is part of me although at times I will have days of emo eating or cravings or extras. ^.^
It depends a lot on that day if I do exercise n am I hungry. (btw most of the time my stomach n mouth r hubgry) hahaha..
With exercise I normal eat around 1250+ - 1800 cal it depends.
Macro : around 40% protein, fats 25-29%, 35-31% carb
