My parents use a product called "Flat Out" and make wraps, etc. My dad is diabetic so he has to watch his carbs.
i like the flat out wraps.0 -
Who says your sandwich has to have 2 pieces of bread... ???
Once I threw this belief out the window - I now make my sandwiches on 1 piece of good quality bread that I love!
Gotta eat what you love!0 -

The thought of eating fake low cal/low carb bread makes me gag.
The only way I will give up my Butternut White Bread is if they go out of business and stop making it.
Oh wait a minute......0 -
I have been using a slice of cheese in place of bread. It was kinda weird to get used to at first. But now i really like it. Just make your cheese is kinda on the thick size.0

healthy life 100% whole wheat
it's inexpensive and 35 calories a slice0 -
don't replace your bread. carbs aren't bad. they are essential to a healthy and balanced diet. if you are trying to lower your carbs to balance with everything else, i suggest using one slice of bread in stead of two.0

Replace each slice of bread with a chicken breast
What do you usually eat on a sandwich? Could you just increase the veggie content, and turn it into a salad?0 -
I use either wheat or spinach tortilla. Any bread with sprouts is also good. I prefer the wraps. Works great for me. good luck. Oh there are a few sandwiches wrapped with large lettuce leaves, the Unwich.0

Sometimes I use big lettuce leaves if I'm having a burger or something. Works great and tastes fantastic and saves over 100 calories.0

Large lettuce leaf works, or my favorite, use a large portabella mushroom cap. Pull out the stem, you can chop or cut into the "meat" of the mushroom, pile or layer your stuff in there & maybe toast for a few in an oven, and voile! Healthy, delicious, low cal, low carb & great fiber!!
GF breads can be a lower cal option but not necessarily carb - there is Ener'G Light Brown Bread, 50 cals a slice, but not sure if the sodium & other stuff is worth it (I am GF due to allergy)0 -
La tortilla Factory makes a great large wheat tortilla with only 80 calories and it makes great wraps...0

Joseph's brand makes some good replacements. I use the lavash bread or the low carb pitas- they have a full line of stuff to choose from. I get them online at Netrition.com, but I've heard of some WalMarts and other stores having the brand. Depends where you live, I suppose.
I use Joseph's lavash bread for all sorts of things, including homemade low fat veggie pizza. Lavash chips are wonderful too with a homemade salsa. Easy too. I will send recipes for anyone who wants them.0 -
Try -- Ezekiel Bread - sprouted bread0

I make my own Chipattis using gram flour. Make up a batch and just put them in a container, there are lots of recipes on the web : )0

Sarah Lee 45 and Delightful whole wheat with honey0

There is also a recipe called "cloud bread", they are made of egg whites and are extremely low in calories. Less than 15 a piece. They are more like hamburger buns when you make them though.0

I replaced my diet of wholemeal bread and cheese for lunch with a 'meal soup' - ie lentil or bean soup. It really has worked for me. It is often between 100 and 150 calories and as it has beans or lentils in it fills me up enough not to crave bread. Initially I would have it with 2 crackers, but after a while I found I didn't need those.
My morning sandwich is replaced with Porridge. Perfect in these wintermonths and very filling.0 -

Thanks for posting all this, I actually didn't know that I could replace bread for something else, I am soo adicted to the stuff that I don't think I could live a day without it. I think I will try some of these amazing options.0
