Anyone else fall off the wagon in December?

December did not go so well for me either. Definitely have been suffering from gluttony! I had final exams for college which is a time when I usually don't do so well health-wise, and then just continued with the bad eating. I need to get back to healthy habits and try to kick my old ways for good! I will probably give myself a week before I step back on the scale, to lessen the shock.0

According to my newsfeed, most of my friends have not logged in for a WHOLE MONTH! Talk about falling off the wagon!
Such slackers throughout MFP...pfftt.
its a glitch. said that about alot of my friends that were on yesterday0 -
In the past three days, I've consumed over 9300 calories with no exercise! :drinker: I had to estimate the calories for all three of those days and I tried to estimate on the high side, just so I could keep some sort of track. My pants are too tight, my stomach hurts...I only weighed myself once (I'm a daily weigher) the morning after I hit the homemade chex mix REALLY hard and probably consumed a week's worth of sodium. That gave me a nice 3 pound gain overnight! But I don't really care. Tomorrow I'll be back on track and will be able to go the gym too. I've decided to give up the daily weigh-ins for a week and give my body a chance to recover from the shock I've given it LOL.
I'm not on a deadline to lose the rest of my weight; I'll get there when I get there, and 3 days of eating whatever I want isn't going to be more than a minor setback in the big scheme of things, I've decided. I ate about the same way on Thanksgiving and the two days following it, and was able to quickly get back in the swing of things.0 -
Bahhhhh! Starting over tomorrow. No regrets. Good times!0

Fell off the wagon, that'd be me! But, I will get on again.... I've changed my lifestyle... but I'm not perfect!!:laugh:0
-
Yep - it started about a week before Christmas with all the parties, and then I was staying with some family who eat terrible, and I just couldn't resist all the candy.
I'm staying with so me different family for New Years so my eating will be better, but I still won't get much exercise.
Jan 2 will be me getting back on my regular schedule!0 -
I did for sure.... I managed to get from 145 all the way down to 108 using Weight Watchers and MFP (after I got closer to my goal). I am a small-framed 5'1", so I had been getting close to my ideal weight at 105....when the holidays happened. I had been doing well mainatinaing my weight without MFP since August. When it's just me and my boyfriend (who has also lost 40 lbs in the past two years) making all the food choices, It is very easy to stick to my routines and stay within my maintenance calories. Now that I've made the journey cross country to spend the holidays with my family, including a pitstop to see my boyfriend's parents in Florida, I find that I keep eating all of the unhealthy comfort foods I am offered.....I stepped on the scale this morning and found that I gained back four pounds in one month! I am really a people-pleaser, and it is so hard to say ENOUGH! when people you love show their affection with food and are offended when you don't clean your plate.
Physically, I feel awful, and I just rejoined MFP in the hopes that I can get back on track and finally recah my goal!0 -
Hi! My name is Lisa and I am addicted to SUGAR! I started MFP last year and hadn't reached my goal weight yet so I was really good during the holidays. I hit my goal weight in early spring so I would I would allow myself a treat here and there. I was preparing for a 40 mile bike ride so my calorie burn was higher and I was burning off the extra calories. After my bike ride my workouts dropped in intensity but the sugar bug had gotten its hold back on me. The holidays this year were one sweet treat after another. I am up 5 lbs but an re-committing myself to the process. So YES I fell off the wagon, but I am running after it to climb back on!!!0

I took a running jump on purpose, the horse kicked me in the head! Made me act silly and and eat all those delicious foods that are so tasty. I gained a few pounds...... Oh well time to get back at it, no big deal! It will be ok I will lose it again, cause I know what it takes!
No worries,

I fell off the wagon in November and I am having a tough time getting back on. I am working really hard at getting back on the wagon. I have to go back to the doctor in February to have my blood sugar checked. Don't want to go back on my medication.0

Yep, for the last 10 days, I just laid off diet and exercise altogether and didn't log in at all. I just put in that I ate 3k cals for those days. I didn't do too much real overeating or gorging or anything and only gained about a 1/2 pound back. I don't consider it "falling off the wagon". Just side-tracking a little. Not a big deal if you get back on track. If you totally quit or give up, that's falling off the wagon...0
-
Yup! Since before Thanksgiving. I am not proud but I am also not giving up on myself0
-
Yep.. eating poorly and not exercising for most of December. Christmas is over and I don't want to wait until January 1, time to get back in the saddle.0
-
I am sooo glad I found this thread. I am a mess!! Trying to get back on but failing. Tomorrow I will make day one......again.0
-
oh my gosh, that's awful! what happened?0
-
I took an easier week on the week of my birthday, which I also had off of work aside from Monday; I free-wheeled most days on eating and got drunk a few times. Total damage was +2 pounds and my abs are hiding a bit more but I'm back on it now!0

December was pretty much one long binge/purge session. So my goal for January is to develop some healthier coping skills, scale back my eating, and quit purging. Time to get healthy...kind of. Healthier. It's a start.
But no really, I gained 12lbs from December 5th til now, mainly because I got clean off of amphetamines and withdrawal pretty much guarantees bingeing. No sleep or food for days on end will do that to you.
Anyone else struggling to make healthier decisions or is it just me?0 -
Tripped, but did not fall. I hate relosing lbs so I did my best not to have to lose them again.0

I have fallen off tne wagon due to Achilles Tendonitis that had me in pain so much that I could barely walk. It was getting better and I was following the doctors orders about stretching before a workout. Then I decided to try the 30 Day Shred program. I had high hopes that it would work but after day one My achilles tendon was back in agony. Now that Christmas is over I am going to start bodyweight exercises again this week.0

There is no wagon. Beginning now, do the things that you know you should do to regain your health.
There is a wagon, and I have the tread marks to prove it. .0 -
Is it falling off if you plan your poor eating decisions in advance?0
-
Add me to the wagon fallers! Alcohol is my biggest problem at this time of the year.
But I am getting back in the saddle - literally - I have 2 horses to ride regularly!0 -
I took Sat off because it was my weekly cheat day then I logged Sunday then took Monday and Tuesday (and ate horribly) now I 'm back with a 626 calorie burn to start things off with.0
-
i fell so hard then rolled down the street.0

Same here was doing very well after I had my son in March, holidays came around and BAM gained 11lbs. I see it on me and I feel it on me. Just brought some new Wii games and am on a mission to lose this weight.0

Faceplanted. The. Entire. Month. Alas, today was a new day and I gave away all the goodies in the house and shoveled show for an hour because the gym was closed. I'm guessing my neighbors would love it if the gym closes everytime it snows- they would come home to a clean driveway just because I'm trying to fit in my fitness! I won't even weigh myself, I know my pants are way too tight but I don't want to accept a number on a scale so I'm working on back to normal for a couple weeks before I make that leap. Best of luck to everyone!0
-
Absolutely! Went flying off the wagon probably over calories more than half the time. Gained 9# but had a great day today and eating lots of fruits and veggies to "reset my taste buds"! Begone candy, cookies and other holiday yummies!0
-
hahahaha...some of your responses are hilarious! One lady fell off the train and someone else was dragged by the wagon, LOL.0
-
Oh yes I fell off the wagon from Thanksgiving til now, working on getting back to normal. Was able to maintain but that was checking the scale last week have no clue the horror it will read in the morning. Between moving into our home, holiday eating and trying to nurse a pulled muscel if I gain 5 pounds I think I can deal with that. Let us all get back on track soon.0
-
Add me to the list. Yes, I fell off the wagon and was probably dragged a few miles before the wagon ran over me But this morning I weighed myself, admitted to my temporary setback and pulled myself back up. I refuse to beat myself up over it and instead will look ahead.
hahahahahahaha! don't let that wagon run over you anymore..painful!0
