Posted up on my comfy couch with some alka seltzer, kleenex,.and a few good cheesy horror flicks to spice up the Twilight Zone Marathon. Nasty end of year cold virus...an hour and ten here till midnight.

Exactly...minus the cheesy horror flicks - Twilight Zone is cheesy enough - I love it! Darn these winter colds!!!

Watching movies. The first one sucked. (seeking a friend for the end of the world)

Drinking minute maid just 15 calorie lemonade instead of liquor

Mostly I'm trying to reign in my crazy mother who is threatening to call the cops cuz people are setting off illegal fireworks. But she doesn't even know who. She just wants to report someone somewhere nearby is having more fun that she is and the loud noise is wrecking her New Years and scaring her cat.

I don't "do" holidays, especially not New Years Eve. I have no desire to be out on the roads with anyone else who was out partying. I haven't left the house on NYE since 2000.

We went to a very early dinner at Famous Dave's Barbeque. Somehow I still managed to stay under my calorie goals! I must be getting the hang of this.

We came home and watched a movie.

Now it's 10:00, we've each been reading for and hour and we're both yawning like crazy. We aren't going to make it until midnight.
  • My parents always choose New Years Eve as one of the three times a year that they come visit. I went over to my brother and sister-in-laws house and hung out with them, my parents and my niece and nephew. I made them all my famous tilapia tacos. We watched Enchanted and then pulled up the London feed of the ball drop at 9:30 because everybody else wanted to go to bed. Lol. (They have an infant and a toddler in their defense.) So I came back to my house and now I'm just sitting here watching netflix and messing around on the internet. In all truth, I would have still had time to go out, but I just wanted to relax.

Went for a bike ride w/hubby earlier, now he's snoring on the couch after dinner and a couple of celebratory shots of Jameson's. So much for a glamorous, sparkly New Year's Eve, lol. I'm doing laundry and watching "Michael Palin's Himalaya."

Got back from Church about 11. Awesome service! Walked the dogs, and have been food-saver-ing since about 11:30. Oh, BTW, happy New Year to all, and may God bring you great joy, peace, and love!
  • Went to my brother's house and watched him and his wife get into a fight because she turned off the computer while he was playing some game. It turned out to be quite entertaining and very funny for me at least

I'll admit I'm getting old. In bed at 10:00am and woke up at 2:00am and realized it was 2013. Went back to sleep for another four hours.

Called the cops on some idiots last night. One of the idiots told me to call the cops. I asked if he was sure and he said he was.

So there were about 15 people standing in the middle of the road, several of them trying to break it up—including my roommate who is the manager of a couple of the people involved. I went up to one of the guys, whom I had just met that night and gave him the standard "this is stupid, com'on, let's get inside" blah blah blah stuff and he tried telling me "I don't know you but if you don't move it I'm going to lay you out" to which I could only laugh at him because he wouldn't have stood a chance.

I told him I wasn't looking for a fight but neither should he and he told me that if I really felt that way I should call the cops. I told him "OK, I will if you want me to but are you sure that's what you want?" He told me it was so I called them. They were there about 30 seconds after I called, awesome response time!

The dispatcher asked how many people were involved and I told her and she said "Uh oh, I can hear people yelling ..." thinking it was escalating to which I responded "No, they're just idiots and yelling, I'm not really sure they've got it in them" and she laughed. Then some girl yelled something after she had asked me the gender of those involved and I told her male and she said "Oh, I just hear a girl yell ...?" and I said "Oh yeah but she's not involved, she's just videotaping it." There was kind of an exasperated sigh on the other end to which I could only belly-laugh and say "Yeah, this is what life's come to now."

(However, I think that, potentially, having someone videotape it could be quite a good thing, should criminal charges need to be filed.)

Anyway, after all was said there the dispatcher said "Well, happy New Year, have a good night!" and I responded in kind.

Best 911 call I've ever had.
