What is your favorite frozen healthy food?

Love Kashi! They are very adventurous with their food combinations. But it tends to be hit or miss. lol. Either I love the meal or I hate it. There aren't any mediocre Kashi meals.0

I agree that added sodium is the biggest downfall of frozen dinners. However, as far as preservatives go, try organic! I love it. And now that I eat organic I tend to cook more and I pay more attention to what's in my food! Amy's is probably my favorite! She has so many delicious options.0

I don't have much experience with the frozen meals (Lean Cuisine, etc) but am tempted to try a couple after having read your posts! Like a few others post-ers, I also make big batches of food and then freeze them into individual containers. I just made a batch of Sweet Potato & Quinoa Chili (thanks to Milk Free Mom!). If you are interested in making a batch, it makes six portions of chili and has 277 calories per serving (without avocado/sour cream). It says to top with avocado but if I don't have any in the house, I use fat-free sour cream. Here is the recipe: http://www.milkfreemom.com/vegan-quinoa-sweet-potato-chili/
Otherwise, I am a big fan of peeling bananas, storing them in individual ziplocs and then enjoying a forzen banana0 -

I don't know if someone's beat me to this or not yet, but the Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken Fillets and something like the Green Giant Broccoli Spears. The chicken does have a bit of sodium, but super easy. You can add sauces to the chicken to vary it up. We've tried barbecue and mongolian and honey mustard with success. :-)0

Man what a bunch of @ssholes. Any way a few of my go to frozen items are frozen stir fry's. They have usually a ton of veggies, chicken and a tiny bit of pasta. They have a lot of them in the frozen food section and they aren't high in sodium. I think usually will add my own additional frozen or fresh veggies and sometimes more chicken. So easy takes about 10 minutes. Of course frozen veggies are easy. I also like taking time on a weekend and making a bunch of meals and then freezing a few of them so if I don't have time during the week I can either pop them in the oven or throw them in the crock pot in the morning. Easy peasy!0

I love frozen blueberries, and I like munching on frozen peas as a snack sometimes0

None. None of it is healthy. I'm not saying I may not buy something once in a very great while but I don't kid myself into thinking that it's anywhere close to healthy.
Nonsense. There are lots of frozen healthy foods.
Yep, including my favourite which is wild alaskan salmon fillets.0 -
I buy individually packaged tilapia. I can thaw one out in a few minutes and bake it with creole seasoning.0

You think that **** is healthy?
Did this person say that it was? No, they simply said that frozen meals aren't healthy. I said the same thing, but I also DIDN'T say that pizza and fried foods are healthy. If eating frozen dinners is how YOU chose to eat, kudos, but my body doesn't do well with sodium so I avoid it. Geeze
What makes frozen food unhealthy? It's just food that is frozen.0 -
Frozen Fruit!!!! put in my bullet with a little yogurt Flexseed and water ! LOVE IT !0

Personally I don't like the taste of frozen ready meals (or most ready meals) and yet my freezer is always full...
I make big batches of freezable meals so I've always got something when I'm feeling lazy or have run out of fresh ingredients.
And a big bag of froze broccoli and a bag of frozen peas are a must. It's so easy to chuck them in with everything and anything to add a bit of greens.
I don't eat meat but in UK supermarkets I've seen these fish-fillets in a bag like things that have some butter and herbs and stuff with them. I've never looked into but they seem pretty healthy but are really expensive. You could probably make a whole steam in a bag meal of frozen fish and veggies pretty easily.0 -
Lean Cuisine almost any of them.0

I haven't found many frozen meals I like but I can tolerate the mexican chicken one from WW. I keep progressive light soups and a bowl at work and that seems to be better for me. I never look forward to that lunch but atleast I have something if I forget or get in a bind.0

I don't buy frozen meals but i always have in my freezer cooked shrimp, creamed spinach, broccoli, peas, frozen berries. Also, whenever I make soup I freeze some in single serving jars so I always have something to eat.0

Smart ones santa fe rice and beans with cheese sauce, I dump it on top big bowl of lettuce, use salsa for a dressing and it tastes like a great Taco salad..0

I personally make & freeze big batches of my own. I save more money & i KNOW what's in them!
My food vacuum sealer comes in great handy; it helps my food last 10x longer.

I always have a couple of Amy's Organic Cheddar Cheese Burritos in my freezer for those really busy days. Because my dietary focus is on iron and protein as a vegetarian, these are great for me when I need a hit of iron on those bad food days.
We don't eat a whole lot of frozen vegetables (basically just corn) but I love The Toby Brand's Cookin Greens designer mix (I think it's a Canadian company.) It's collards, rapine, spinach, yellow beans, and onions. Even just with a little bit of vegan butter and sea salt it is delicious.0 -
Target's Archer Farms Mukimame. I like to add a little Asian style seasoning. It's steam in a bag in the microwave then eat. Minimal effort on my part. Then I pair it with a bowl of strawberries. Just easy and good.0
-
I'm also a fan of the Amy's meals. The garden vegetable lasagna is my all time favorite, and I also like the tamales and pretty much any of the burritos. The tofu teriyaki bowl is also yummy.
I do cook a lot, but I usually have second meals for dinner the next night, not for lunch.
PS - A plea for those of us who share a microwave in an office area - Please don't microwave fish! Little makes me want to hurl like smelling the catfood like stench of someone's leftover salmon (which I am sure is delicious) while I am in my office.0 -
