    Not sure I'll be much help but I started last Saturday myself. I love MFP so far. I would love to get healthier and more fit by loosing 20-30 lbs this year. My kids are already in school but I never found time to do this for myself. WE can't quit...WE can do it!!!! Good Luck :):happy:

    I downloaded this program to my Iphone last Friday. Joined a biggest loser contest at my gym (Curves for Women) on Thursday. Paid $20 and will have to pay $1 for every pound I gain. I get weighed once a week. Last Thursday at the beginning I weighed 137 which is heavier than I have been in 10 years. The result of Menapause, being over 50, various surgeries and illness. Well I decided the contest would be the ideal way to take off the weight and get back to under 120. (I am just under 5'3") So what will I do to lose? I am not inexperienced at weight loss. I increased my water intake, began eating breakfast again. Increased my intake of protien. Eat 5-6 times a day. And became more active. Although I was going to the gym 4 times a week and bowling 2 times a week I had still become passive at home and only ate 1 time a day on the weekend. So now more housework and better eating habits. I have already lost 4 pounds! Can't wait to be weighed in tomorrow! I love this program because it lets me know how much I can eat and how active I need to be to continue to lose.

    :) I just waited for the cupboards to get empty...and then instead of buying the same old junk...I only bought the healthy stuff....so now I don't have a choice but to eat it...:)
  • You can add me I just started last Friday, my husband and I are trying to lose 15 lbs. I signed up for a 3 month challenge at my Cardi/weight boot camp. The challenge is going 4 days a week and eating all healthy foods, no processed or sodas. The boot camp consists of 56 minutes of intense cardio and weights. I usually do 2 days, so 4 will be a challenge to me.

    I am trying hard to count all my calories, the weekends are the toughest, but I am getting much better at it after 5 days. You can too.

    I've been on the site for a little over 30 days, so I guess I'm still new ;-) It took me this long to get into and post on the forums though. I'm always open for a little encouragement, whether it be giving or receiving so if you or anyone else wants to, please send a request!
  • Good for you on quiting smoking, if you can do that then you can that then you will have the willpower to lose weight.

  • I just got started yesterday after meeting with a registered dietician. I too have two children and my goal is to lose 50 pounds. I definitely need support and encouragement I am determined to do this but it's so hard doing it on my own!

    I started using my account again about a week ago... Am determined to really stick to it this time. It feels different... Before I really wasn't so depressed and upset with my weight, but now I really know I need to change it... and I WANT TO! :)

    I welcome any friends because I know we all need all the motivation we can get!!
