hello ladies! surprisingly i am not a bit sore today. i was expecting to be like so sore that it hurt to move. but absolutely none! and i forgot to mention last night..... thank goodness for cues of when to run and walk. i couldnt have done it with out that.

Lacey- i am glad i inspired you. so far i like it and to me by starting outside instead of on the treadmill gets my body used to running outside instead of transitioning later.

kristina- great job on the cupcake. you have more self control than me.

victoria- thanks for the stretches. they will come in handy tomorrow after my run.

well every one it is late and i am not feeling well today so its off to dream land i go!! night and keep up all the hard and wonderful work. we can do this!!!

Glad to hear Jenna is home safe and sound!

Lacey- that recipe looks yummy. If I ate meat, I would be all OVER that.

I'm feeling pretty good today. I stretched well after my run yesterday, so I'm not feeling really sore or anything. It's supposed to be another lovely day today. I want to take a day off at least between my longer runs, so today will be a gym day- planning on ellipticaling it for an hour. It's just supposed to get warmer as the week goes on, so I'll need to think about what's the next best day to run again- Wed or Thurs. I plan on doing something both days. That'll put me at my 2 3+ mile runs for the week (plus by 2.9 run on Saturday) and cardio 6/7 days, 1 day over my goal. That's what I need to keep myself doing.

The scale was pretty friendly to me this morning... let's hope it continues to be.

great day for running. it was on the cool side, barely any cars out......I'm loving Washington for running. Ate my oatmeal and yogurt, and now we are off to run yet some more errands.....do they ever stop???

on a different note, i saw a picture of myself that was taken with our group of friends 3 months after i had my son. WOW!! I was such a beast.....we are talking Jabba the Hut with long curly hair......it was kinda scary. My hubby commented on how much weight i have lost since then. and then he continued to poke fun at how baggy the butt of my pants is getting. Still, i look in the mirror and see a beast. i have come a long way, but still have quite a few miles down the road to get where i need to be.

hope everyone is having a good week so far!!
pinbot....glad kitty is doing well
aka--congrats on the run!! 4 + miles!!
Lacey--holy cow , your sourdough bread concoction sounds heavenly!!

You could make it with a hunk of tempeh or firm tofu too and I bet it would be good.

Good idea Lacey! I'm not a huge tofu gal, but I would definitely consider trying with tempeh.

Today has been going okay so far... hitting my afternoon wall though and would like to take a nap. Just 2 hours left, then I shall hit the rec center, eat dinner, watch Glee (all Madonna song episode! eee!), and head to bed.

As suspected meeting went over at work, so I'm gonna go home and make dinner, get everything ready for tomorrow morning (lunches, clothes, etc) and then chill out. Good tv night!

I have to be here at 8am sharp again, although I am certain it won't start on time, and it is a struggle to get here before 8:15 with the kiddo.

Also going over cals tonight, but was under cals last night so am hoping it will all work out in the end!

I finally beat week 2 of c25k!!! I didn't have to stop! I finished with a big smile on my face. I am going to do it one more time to prove that this wasn't just some fluke. I finally found my happy thought to get me through the pain- I am planning to wear a BIKINI next summer....just envisioning that right now.

Plus I was between two skinny girls doing interval jogging. Woop woop!! Big girl keeping up with the skinny b!tches! hahaha

(one was running faster, but was a little taller and the other was power walking with a real big incline...but still...it was empowering)

good evening ladies. i had a great day today. i spent the morning with my boyfriend and then work went by super fast. then when i got home at eleven o clock i went out side an did night two of c25k. yay!! i did lots of stretching afterward and a little bit before. tonight my lungs didn't feel like they were on fire but my right leg still bothered me. before i knew it i was eighteen minutes into it only 7 minutes to go! it went really quick and i didn't feel like quitting until about 20 minutes in by then i i had 2 more runs and 2 more walks to do before i was done. after the first day i was wondering "am i going to be able to do this a second time?" well i can and i did! now i am going to do it a 3rd time on Thursday and take Friday and Saturday off. it felt great to be able to do this so easily the second time around. well its late and i need some sleep. good night super hero runners!!

Did my longest run yet.... well actually it was basically the same distance as my longest before, just a small detour (construction) and an extra block made it about .15 longer- 4.23 miles run! *twirls* and it felt good most of the time! I mean, it was tiring, but completely manageable AND I was under 13 minutes miles (barely), but for that distance, it's definitely faster. I am getting stronger slowly, but surely. The weather helped as it's in the very low 60s, sunny, clear, and a small breeze. If only every day was like this, I wouldn't be able to stop myself from going out and running. I'm sort of dreading the summer heat.

WOO_ HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job on that run Kristina, I have gave my self a goal of 10 running miles per week and biking ATLEAST 25 MILES PER WEEK (oops cap lock there:laugh: ) until I come up on my birthday in June, and I had better hit onderland by then...Or Else! I have done it for the past 2 weeks running and added biking this week...so far so good....

Well SuperPals....I am up early and I am going to try to get my Yoga in before I bike into town this morning. I have finally started my cycle...only took 14 days of bloating and feeling like crap for it to get here....now I can start the new pills and see if they help any??? I am hoping the scale will give me back the three pounds it took from me the last 2 weeks....just have to wait and see.

Hello to everyone..... Lacey did you ever start the c25k program?
Mish, hope your back to routine after your trip!

I better go , I have 1 more group to check and then I have to get busy!!
Have a great day..

   I haven't really dropped off the face of the earth but it feels like it. Jenna has steadily gone down hill since being home. This morning she is barely moving and moans when I pet her. I had to take 2 other cats for their regular vet appt yesterday and he gave me steroids to try on Jen. They don't seem to be helping. The vet says since she is going getting worse, she probably has a bone marrow cancer which is why her white blood count went down rather than a toxin.

Needless to say, I got in 2 miles of jogging and 30 min of aerobics but needed comfort foods last night - brats plus tater tots and a few shots... I was way over on cal and don't feel any better this morning. (*sighs*)

I'll keep you posted but it's not looking good for Jenna.

ok, not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I'm putting and in lower case before and after the link (the link I have is listed below)

anyways, I got the clothes I bought on clearance last week online. The halter top SAYS its the same size as my tube top, but if you look at the picture, it OBVIOUSLY ISN'T and I'm upset. :frown: Since I got it on clearance, there is a no return or exchange policy. :frown: :frown: Its falling off me. I emailed Torrid but last time I did that, it was a month before I heard anything from them. That wasn't about returning/exchanging stuff though so hopefully it'll go to a different department and this person won't be out of the country for so long...

Kendal- Way to go with rocking week 2!! And doesn't it feel good to keep up with the gym bunnies next to you?? I think a bikini is a great goal. I've NEVER worn one. I don't know if it's a realistic goal for me, but it's something to dream about! I just want to hit a healthy weight by the time I turn 30 (Dec 2011), which I think is a pretty reasonable goal for me.

Deb- great exercise goals! I only occasionally do bicycle, as when I go to the rec center I'm more inclined to hop on the elliptical for maximum calorie burnage. Would like to at some point pump the bike up, as well as hop in the pool. Triatholon in the long term future? Perhaps.

Victoria- keep us posted on Jenna *HUGE HUG* I'm so sorry sweetie. It's a really tough thing to go through. We're here for you! It's great that you were still able to get some exercise in, and also no surprise you hit the comfort foods- I would do the same probably. Hang in there!

Today should be a pretty busy day, but not terribly stressful (I don't THINK), though apparently I have an interrim performance review that my supervisor casually dropped in our conference call yesterday afternoon. I know it's basically a formality, but these things always make me a bit nervous. I imagine I will go to the U. and get that done this afternoon. Food should be okay for me today unless there's a major pitfall when I get home. Scale continues to be friendly this morning. Hopefully it will continue to be so. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous again today and tomorrow- a little warmer today than tomorrow. I'd like to get another long run in today. If it's too hot for me, I'll delay it until tomorrow and hit the rec center again (did elliptical for 65 min yesterday). I'm not going to push the running distance as much for the second run this week- will stay under 4- probably in the 2.5-3.7 range and try to kick the speed up a notch at the end. I have a potential 4.5mile run mapped out for this weekend if the weather holds, though I think it's supposed to rain :grumble:

Happy hump day everyone!

The pic Kendal was trying to post:

4540703534_20c9e9989c.jpg

Kendal- you were right using the [IMG][/IMG] (lowercase instead of upper case), but the issue I think was that you linked to a website and not the picture itself. It needs a .jpg,. .gif, etc at the end. So I just went to the website, right-clicked on the picture, clicked properties, and copied/pasted the address in between the tags. Hope this is clear.

Don't you hate when sizes aren't the same. I've had issues both ways. I've liked a shirt, tried it on in one size, and it's fit and bought it in another color as well without trying it on and it has a completely different fit. And then of course, between stores a size can fit so differently. I get excited that I'm down a size, then I go to another store and that size DEFINITELY isn't happening yet. Argh!

every time I go to the properties of the picture, it still shows it as a website-- nothing with a .jpg

grrrr I wanna figure this out

ok...I can do it if the picture is already loaded on my profile here....hehehe...thats Lexi's "waaaaasssssssssuuuuuuuupppp" face (you know, from those old Budweiser commercials)

Oh yeah! I took her poop to the vet yesterday and had it tested....no worms!

hahaha! I GOT IT!

sorry for posting so much crap on the board...for some reason, I followed my own link to the website and got the properties again and it gave me the correct info...whatev...now I know...I can't be logged in to my flickr account to get the correct info

but back to my original point....THESE TOPS ARE NOT THE SAME SIZE!!!! GRRRRR

Hi....will be in a meeting most of the day...bleh.

I'm sorry to hear your cat has cancer! Poor baby! Poor kitty mamma and dad!

Yes I started c25k Monday. Didn't get to work out yesterday as I got off work late, but will go today and do the second day of c25k and a work out. Am hoping to be able to go tomorrow and Friday as well and my goal, aside from running, is to hit 2000 cals burned this week min. Shouldn't be hard to do.

Okay ladies...I'm off...have a good day!

Just dropping in to say hi to everyone...things at work have been crazy. I haven't had time to think straight this week. Between the 100 phone calls a day and trying to cross-train in my new position I'm gonna lose my mind. Anyway...TOM is here so I have been having some monster weird cravings...spicy chips and dontus and fruit...i love all three but never at the same time. SUCKS. I promise to start being on here more often. I'll go back and read through everyones posts. I'm gonna start tracking food again too.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi! I am way behind in getting my weigh in on here, but I've been super busy. No change from the previous week, still at 217.6. I am pleased it wasn't a gain, because it was my TOM. Anyway, back from the Scottish festival, and back on track. Doing week 2 of C25K- not pretty. Still need to catch up on everyone's posts- hope ya'll have a great evening! Susan

It has been more quiet- I think it's mostly because for a while we had a lot of newbies- motivated and everything, and like always, some will fall off the wagon and the ones in it for the long haul will stick around!

Okay y'all, i spoke way too soon about how my day should be just fine and dandy.

1. did you all hear about the McAfee virus scanner blow up? Apparently their most recent update they didn't check thoroughly on Windows XP computers (thank god, I'm a Mac girl at home), and it identified critical windows files as viruses that weren't causing computers to keep rebooting over and over again. BOTH my work laptops were hit with it, so I was without a computer for most of the afternoon. The icing on the cake? They sent out an update, but I have to be on the medical campus to get, AND plugged into an ethernet station, so my tomorrow will be all screwy as well. Nice.
2. I had my performance review with my supervisor today. I left for the meeting and proceeded to be rearended by someone. Nice eh? Not my fault. I stopped with enough time, the girl behind me stopped with enough time, but the girl behind her did not, plowing the person who was behind me into my car. Luckily, it only has a small smudge- nothing worth fixing, but it scared the bejesus out of me.
3. I then go to my meeting to find out my boss FORGOT about the meeting and had already left for the day. Nice.
4. I plan on going running today and as I'm going to my car, it starts DUMPING. Argh!

The good thing is that I could have completed self-combusted, but I still went to the rec center. Only put 35 minutes in on the elliptical, but I'm proud of myself for doing anything and I should be just on point with my calories today, so a moderate success on that end. Life otherwise blew today. Tomorrow, I will most likely have to start the day on the medical campus, then meet with my supervisor at the VA office, then go to my regular health clinic. It's gonna suck.

It's 3:53 and I'm updating my crackberry on my computer so I have all the calendar stuff right and its got to update programing and it says it could take up to 1/2 hour. Grrr...I WANT to leave and go work out dernit!

I ate a whole big chinese take out box FULL of pad thai today..I'm not over on my cals but I had to guess on what I ate. I picked just under 800 for lunch. I could be at 1000, its really hard to say. It was so good and I just kept eating and eating. Thai is my fav aside from mexican.

Anyways its a good reason to hit the gym hard tonight and run my second day of c25k. And do more upper body exercises. Gotta get those muscles going. Monday when I went to the gym I weighed 208ish..Ga! But I was swollen as all heck and even my ring hurt on my finger. That hasn't happened since I was pregnant I might see what I weigh tonight too although its probly not a good idea.

Hey everyone - Jenna just goes up and down. After the trip to the vet this afternoon and a change in meds, she seems to be doing better. She can walk across the room now without falling over and she is eating. Thanks for thinking about us. I've had a massive headache all day and ate for crap. I am guessing Mr. Scale and I are not going to get along this week. If I maintain, I will be happy. I need to get my eating back on track. No - I WILL GET BACK ON TRACK!!!!

Kristina - (((((((((((((((((BIG HUG))))))))))))))))))) back at you for your bad day. If your car is worth anything, you may want to get the bumper fixed. The last time I was rear-ended I learned that bumpers are shock absorbers for accidents and once they get hit, you need to replace the compressed springs so that it can absorb the shock for the next time. Maybe the garage was pulling my leg but I believed them. I am a gullible blond and will believe anything.

Great job to everyone running and doing the C25K!!!!!!!! I am so addicted to my running. I'm kinda bummed that tomorrow is a 2 mile day for my training for the 10K. I plan to work in some speed drills. I also want to rest up for my race Sat.

Kendal - yeah, it has been quiet. I have been so busy with work, vacation and sick pets that I haven't been posting as much. (*sighs*) I need to be here more to keep motivated and on track. By the way - Lexie is gorgeous!!!! Sorry you got screwed on the top sizing. I want a cute new tank.

Lacey - enjoy your workout. I love Thai food and haven't had it since starting my lifestyle change. Now I am craving Pad Thai. Oh - you are adding to my recent bad habits. I even thought about you as I grabbed a small bad (2 serving size) of Doritos for lunch - YEAH (*hangs head in shame*) I ate the whole thing. I really have been stressed but that is no excuse to undo all my hard work. I'm with you on the He!! of "guessing" what cal food from resteraunts has.

Can someone stop the wagon so that I can get back on?

I only did about a third of the c25k run today. My shins weren't feeling it and I wasn't feeling. I made myself work out for 50 minutes to get 485 cals burned and came home. And then ate two huge soft tacos stuffed with stuff and went over on cals...and I just remembed I forgot to log my avocado. Dammmmm....
Well se la vie. Do better tomorrow.
Tonight I weighed in at 208 again. Gawd that is super frustrating. I know I haven't been eating well lately and have hardly worked out so I only have myself to blame but geez. I reminded myself that if I work out consistently, I might not see any weigh loss on the scale but I will continue to see changes in my body and that is just as good. But I gotta say, I'm getting tired of my work out. I need to maybe find a class I can take a couple times a week at lunch. Yoga or something to mix it up. But I will wait to do that until after I get back from Canada.
My husband and I talked about buying some cheap tennis rackets and doing that together, so that would be nice.

I am still swollen today too. Very annoying. Must be eating more salt than I think and my pre-preperiod stuff is starting I guess. I usually never carry water like this.

Kristina, that sucks about your car. When it rains it pours, that is fo' shizzle.

I don't know that I could live without thai food. Or mexican food. Yeah. No. LOL....and there you go people. I only have myself to blame. Gaaaaaaaah!

Hey gang - I thought that I lost that last long post and was shocked to find it. Life is weird. I'll keep you posted.

Lacey - if you haven't, invest in an at home scale!!! this will save you some headaches and you will weigh less.

Kritstina,

    Triatholon...shew, never thought about that....   The riding of the bike really stems from my guilt of buying myself tanning sessions.....I am super careful about spending and usually don't splurge on things like tanning especially for myself...and if you remember I told myself that I would get a few sessions after I dipped under 200....well, I was just frustrated the last few weeks because of the gain that I treated myself early...but I also put limits on myself and I agreed with myself that I would ride my bike into town for 1/2 of my sessions, it is 14 miles round trip....this week I am riding in Mon-Wed-Fri, and I have made my goal all ready with 28 miles of bike riding, so Friday will be extra...but I have to get some running miles logged in today, I haven't ran yet this week and I just realized that this weekend is packed, so I better get at least 5 miles running in today. It is also a lifting day today, so I am really bringing it this week and my body really has been feeling it, hope it helps some...could just be that I am crazy....I sure do talk to myself a lot!

Lacey, It must be the weather or something...I have been bloated all this month too it seems, but I am like that every cycle...I finally started, but am still holding water for some reason and I have been really trying to watch my salt,,,,so I don't think it's that...it is frustrating....but don't give up....it will pass!!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
I grew up on Mexican food and have spent lots of time trying to lighten up certain recipes....I use the crock pot and make my pinto beans and mash them with a little olive oil....also if you have cumin, chili powder, cilantro, garlic and onions...you can whip up some delicious things:bigsmile: , I also like my tortillas crispy, so I often use corn tortillas and I bake them in the oven. I use brown rice for my spanish rice...and the avacados...that's a good thing:bigsmile:
Thank goodness I have never cared for Thia food..... Hugs...you can do this!!!

......Life has a way of taking over and that is to be expected! Remember how much better you feel about yourself when you take the time to care for yourself!! The foods you eat make you feel better, the exercise you get makes the stress better...it's an all around better feeling!! Try to give your self a break...and then get right back on the wagon.....
Do your best, and forget the rest!!!
