I use:
0% Fage Greek Yogurt
1/2 c milk
3 packets of stevia
ice
LOTS OF SPINACH
Blend and YUM! (Drink right away or the spinach gets really strong tasting.)0 -
I made one the other day with 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1/4 frozen banana, 1 cup frozen tropical fruit medley, 1 scoop protein powder, and 2 large handfuls of baby spinach. I blended everything but the spinach first to get a nice creamy consistancy. Then I added the spinach and blended thoroughly. Added a few ice cubes and blended til it was ready. Very tasty.0

Thanks for the input! I'll try just blending the almond milk and spinah (maybe with a bit of water) first and see what happens. I don't exactly remember the type of blender I have, but it certainly makes good margheritas!0

I second the green monster smoothy above! It's great. Mine is slightly modified from that for 1 serving:
1 cup spinach
1/2 container (3 oz.) plain Chobani yogurt
1/2 c. 1% milk
1/2 banana
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 - 2 Tbsp. PB2 (made by Bell Plantation - its pb powder & super low in calories)
4-6 ice cubes
with 2 Tbsp. PB2 ----208 calories/ 30 g carbs/ 3 g fat / 20 g protein
The other one I love is as follows:
1 clementine
1/2 apple
1/2 banana
5 small frozen strawberries
1 cup spinach
3-4 ice cubes
enough water to help it blend ~1/2 cup
129 calories/ 32 g carbs/ 0 fat / 3 g protein
ENJOY!0 -

I only use a blender to make fruit smoothies, and I have to use a juicer if the recipe involves any types of greens (celery, spinach, kale ect)0
-
Put spinach in with the liquid first andf blend. You might need a more powerful blender.0

Hi there. We have one of the Ninja blenders and that works well for spinach. (I don't mean this as an endorsement of the product)
I use 2 cups spinach, one whole banana, one sliced pear, one cup of blueberries, 3 tablespoons of milled flax seed. It's important to add at least 12 ounces of water if you want a "juicy" consistency, otherwise it's very pulpy. I also blend it and then add ice and blend again so it's good and cold.
That's my basic formule; it averages out to about 185-200 calories.
You can add any fruits; I like a cup of diced pine apple in there. My wife goes strawberry crazy.0 -
