MFP has replaced Facebook

I broke up with Facebook almost a year ago! Best thing ever!
I love MFP, even though I don't get into many personal conversations, I feel like I know a lot of users on here lol.0 -
Ditto what every one else said. Love mfp.0
-
Me tooooo, much better than facebook, I love it, love it, love it xx0
-
The good thing about this is that you are actually talking about things that extend your life expectancy rather than waste your life on FB talking about crxp!0
-
I am sure glad I am not the only one but I still go to facebook and play the games0

I'm on here waaay more than Facebook now and I was a true Facebook addict. Just being able to get help and advice on anything and being surrounded by a great support network of people who are aiming towards the same goal as yourself. Seeing the success stories and pictures are the best motivator xx0

I love MFP....I have some great friends here who are wonderful motivators. I have never ever been with a diet more that a couple months..so far..I have been here since July...almost 7 months! Thats unheard of for me! Its much easier losing the weight with a supportive group then trying to do it by yourself. My sister is losing weight also. So far she has lost 37 lbs and Ive lost about 50 lbs...She is 68 years old and Im 65 years old..goes to prove...that anybody can lose weight...any age...all it takes is control, discipline and encouraging motivating friends! Most of the facebook friends don't care...they have their own share of drama going on and sharing this and sharing that......ha ha..0

I completely agree !! I check in on here more than facebook forsure, i love to see what everyone else is doing for workouts and eating and to read everyones stories on the message boards !!0
-
I just said the same thing the other day; this is my new FB, I never like when people posted about going to the gym on FB and what they are eating, especially if they struggled with their weight like myself, one week there at the gym every day, then u don't hear about it for a month and the 15lbs they bragged about losing came right back. My motto was talk is cheap just do it. But this is a place that is made for the journey, the ups and the downs......Plus you don't really know anyone on here so there’s no false pretense.0
-
Yes I agree! Everyone here is for the same purpose and WANTS TO SEE EACH other succeed! I appreciate the positivity from the members here and I always stay reading my TL, food diary of my friends, getting ideas on what I wanna eat and adding friends and learning and being encouraged, and hopefully encouraging to someone as well!0

Me too! I deleted my account in December. What a time waste!
I deleted my FB account recently too.0 -
same here! this is way more conducive!0
-
I totally agree! I'm much more interested in reading about nutrition and weight loss than stuff facebook0
-
So true! Tired of the whining and lame videos on FB. I am new to MFP and would welcome more friends to exchange positive messages of support and encouragement.0
-
And I thought I was the only one...who was never on FB!0
-
exactly mfp is my facebook now, because no one judges and everyone here is more real! i love my mfp0
-
Yes yes it has for me0
-
nope, I use/like both, for different reasons0
-
I still use facebook, but I get more out of MFP, and I only have 8 friends, none of whom I have met in person! It's great to see so many people working to better themselves.0
-
I feel the same way. Also I love the fact the people on here are not in my business. On facebook everything you say is dissected.0

I did recently change my home page to MFP since I am here more often, but I have to admit that I check FB several times a day too. It is a free way to keep in touch with my one son, by IM there, and also... I live in conservative, Republican small town Iowa, but am very liberal and accepting of alternative lifestyles, so I keep in touch with friends like me in other states. Otherwise I would lose my mind... more than I have already!0
-
I do the same!!!! I need that boost of inspiration to get me going So, that being said, feel free to add me!! I am relatively new here and I can use to support and would love to encourage others as well! Together we CAN do this0
-
I feel like the usage of FB has been tapering off at least for the people on my friends list. I don't see alot of updates on there unless they are political. I love MFP and how encouraging everyone is. MFP is definitely the new facebook.0

I'm anti FB...killed my account years ago w/too much sleuthing & drama going on....I enjoy the support and info on here....but...reading some community posts I do see 111# anorexic girls starving for attention with their sob stories that no one loves them because they need to drop another few lbs....or meat heads saying they're going "hoggin" for big girls.....sad that these few people feel the need to corrupt and abuse MFP....totally not what it's intended use is.0
-
I am part of a "lifestyle change and support" type group on FB so I do log in to check that, however I find that MFP is WAY more active than that group lately. I use MFP everyday, and I do have to say I probably use it more than FB now. It is definately more supportive and I love rushing to enter in a pound lost on MFP where on FB I don't think I would get close to the same reaction if I posted every time I lost a pound lol :P0
-
Ive only been on facebook twice in the last 2 weeks, Im on MFP from morning til bedtime, even on my phone when i'm out &bout. gotta see how everyone is doing. I use to be on WW up until a few weeks ago online but the help here is so amazing and the food database is far more supieror on MFP and it free.0
-
I call this facebook for fitness lol0
-
about the same here. I usually will do the facebook first because it is so quick. If there is little time it is MFP all the way. I love this link. I need to see I can do it too and the people that post here are a constant source of inspiration and hope. Thanks to all of you!0
-
me two! Im on here for hours if i feel like binging, its really the only thing that stops me right now, reading the success stories and diet tips.0
-
I admit I do more on here then FB....this is the place to be when trying to lose weight! :happy:0
