hey everyone! just got back from a little maternity shopping in portland. there aren't any places around here to get maternity, so since dh has the day off, we made the 30 minute drive down to the maine mall. i ended up getting a dress for my cousin's wedding next month, a nice pair of jeans, and a bathing suit. yay!! my jeans have been getting pretty tight around the belly lately, and now i'm relieved to have some to grow into a little bit. the dress i got for the wedding ended up being a size small, too! woohoo! i'll have to post a pic of it sometime soon. i hope everyone's having a good day!

Happy to report the dress is hemmed. Not happy that I never got to it until 8 tonight and it took almost 2 hours between trying it on a zillion times, trying to cut it off straight, etc. It went ok, I'm a perfectionist, what can I say? I can't get the bottom seam of the real shear layer like it was, it sort of lays different. No way can my fingers roll it so small, get it in the machine and get it sewn. They must have a machine that does it for them. Regardless, hubs says who cares, I'm not tripping over it, my friend told me nobody was going to look at it anyway, they'd be staring at the girls who would be glaring at them. Fine. It's done. Check it off my list.

    Tired. Outta here! Night!

Congrats Lori! If we were at the ball with you I know that's the first thing I look at .....the HEM! Have fun pampering yourself today. DD will be doing the same as she has her Senior prom tonight...aahhh memories....and the then the thoughts cross my mind of what I was like for my Senior Prom and after and I say.....ooohh the worries. We think we are so much smarter than our parents were...I'm sure they think the same.

Good Morning Miss Jeannie....i must say it is really nice to hear from you on a daily basis again.

Marla - I am struggling with the same tummy thingy. I have worked so hard this week logging, running, Zumba. I always want to see instant results. When we were younger it was so much easier wasn't it? Oh well. i'm glad to have you all to keep me in check.

Good Morning to everyone else. Have a great day!

I know as soon as I post a pic all of your eyes are going to go straight to the bottom and say, yeah, I see how it flips out weirdly.

I too remember being a teenager, like it was yesterday. Makes me cringe cause I know my kids are there. I swear, we are so much cooler than our parents though!

Edit to add: I picked up a 'smoother' thingy to wear under my dress. Basically, it's a nice word for girdle sorta thingy. There isn't one of those dang things that is cute, sexy or nice looking. Blah! :noway: I bought the most non tortourous looking one I could find. It gives me the heebie jeebies when my underwear go above my belly botton! :grumble: Guess I either have something to suck it in or I let it hang out over. Choices.

I bought a body-slimmer-thingy once. Wore it once. I have no idea what I was thinking. The only conclusion is that I wasn't thinking. I was temporarily insane. While in the store looking at the different ones, I thought, "You know, going to the bathroom isn't going to be easy because I'll have to take my dress off to get the thing down." Then I notice that it has 3 eye hooks at the crotch. This is where my temporary insanity kicked in. I thought, "This is perfect. I can just un-hook the hooks when I need to go to the bathroom." So I buy it and wear it to a good friend's wedding. DH was the best man and my parents had the kids and I didn't have to drive. It was heaven. I could have a few drinks and not worry. After another friend buying his wife and I drink after drink after drink. I had to potty. I thought, "Thank God for the hooks." Unhooked they came, up the dress and slimmer thingy went and I pottied. From that point forward I was visiting the girls' room about every 45 minutes since a friend kept the drinks coming. I had no sense of vision, let-a-lone the ability to hook tiny, tiny, tiny eye hooks at my crotch. It was awful. It got thrown away.

Been there, done that. The thing I bought just looks like Granny panties. No hooks. I've had some with snaps too. Really, not good designs no matter how you look at it.

When I was in college, body suits were popular. Try bars in body suits. By the end of the night, the snaps never got snapped. Too much work, too hard when you can't function.

At my heaviest my bro sprung it on me he wanted me to marry he and my sister in law. Uh Ok.......found a really cute hot pink dress, got a tan, cute little sandles......they were getting married on the beach and the brides maids were in like colors.......

SO I decide to wear a full body sucker inner......it was tight, hot and uncomfortable.......but I looked 10 pounds lighter and felt I looked great!
Wonderful........until you drink a few too many drinks and have to go potty.............and er, cant get back INTO the contraption.......my poor daughter...........a bit more fodder for her therapist one day

I bought a cheapo smoother thingie to wear in Florida last year-- abandoned the idea. It kept rolling down from the top-- looked ridic!

Busy day-- bank, Stop and Shop grocery store, Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Aldi grocery store, Giant Supermarket-- home to put nearly $500 worth of groceries away, do some typing, fix dinner--

    Pant pant pant--

Beautiful out, though-- heading for some coffee--
good calorie day, too-- not sure I'll get a run in, but we'll see--

    Later--

Hey friends. Got my manicure and pedicure, have done very little since. Plopped my butt in the chair, caught up on past episodes of shows I missed. Refused to do dishes. Heated up some leftovers for dinner, did fold some laundry. That's it. Hubs just sort of looked at me. I don't care one little eensy weensy bit.

Woman, if anybody deserves to plop their butt in the chair and refuse to dishes, it's you. Well, actually, it's me-- but since I can't, there's nobody I'd rather enjoy a night off than you, oh builder of decks!

Can't wait for the pictures tomorrow-- !!!!!!!!!

All confused now - just typed a long good morning etc from the UK, and it has dissppeared (so apologies if something pops up later).

Lori fl - rest, relax and have a 'ball' tonight. Don't do anything to ruin your mani

Shuntae - good luck with your half

Donna - how did your eldests prom go?

To everyone else, hope you have a happy weekend.

Am working today, so must dash have to get to the shops to collect Tom's bike, and get some bedding plants for the garden. Check back later, xx

In the states you can marry someone if you are a Notary Public. The important part was to write their vows for them. It is a rather different situation with them, I am the one who truly understood.

jeannie - thank you for explaining. Have a great birthday week, and I hope that you throughly enjoy doing nothing!!

I now have colour in the back garden, walked 3 of the 4 boys to the supermarket today and got some marigolds, petunias, and compost (need to think about what I buy when I walk - not sure how much more the buggy will take lol), when we got back the 3 boys had a brillient time planting the flowers and getting dirty. I have done another 15 minutes on the bike, and am now having a little relax before starting again.

    Have a great weekend everyone

Leaving soon to head out for the expo and get settled in the hotel...I CAN'T WAIT. Downing the water and G2 as I type this, so I should be good and prepared for the heat. Looking forward to telling you all about it when I get home. Love y'all!

Those of you on FB will get updates from the course, because I signed up for a service called TweetMyTime. It will tell you where I am on the course, my pace and expected finish time based on the info from my chip at certain checkpoints. Too cool.

It's my oldest sons birthday week too, except his is tomorrow. My two kids have birthdays 12 days apart and my hubs two kids have birthdays 15 days apart. They hit hard when they hit.

Fun fact, the two I gave birth to:
    Alex 4/20
    + Ian 5/02
    Me 9/22

There birthdays add up to mine.

Anyway...... gotta go start my hair. Wish it wasn't so darn windy. Later cats!
