Wow, did I really type that? 100 pounds, how did I get this far out of control...sigh...a friend introduced me to this site, and I am hopeful that one day at a time I can move things in the right direction. I am a type two diabetic, have sleep apnea, and asthma along with the other aches and pains of being overweight. Okay, day one...here I go again.

You can do this! You just have to look at it this way, I need to lose 1 lb this week, I need to drink 8 cups of water a day. I need to track my food this week.
If you ever need any advice, please befriend me and dont be afraid to message me! There's a group meant for 100+lb losers like us
edit, and by losers, i don't mean the insult losers, but those who need to lose that much! haha poor word choice0 -

Make baby goals! My goal is always to lose the next 10 lbs. I don't think about the big number at all.0

Don;'t feel so bad I found myself feeling the same way, only with 124 pds to loose. I started the first week of November 2012 and so far have lost 33.8 pounds. It is not as hard as it seems if you just focus and start exercising a little bit at a time so that your body can adjust.
Good luck!!!:flowerforyou:0 -

Don't think of how far you need to go, focus on how great you feel. Each pound lost gets easier on your body, health, and mental state. You can do this!0

Just take it a day at a time - set 5 or 10 pound goals - you can do it. I have faith in you. I'm also sending a friend request, if you are interested. Have a good day!0

Just added you as a friend.
Agreed...just make smaller goals for yourself and that 100 lbs wont feel like anything. 5 or 10 lb goals and go from there...1 eating goal at a time and so on. You can do this...you are ready!!!

Good luck!0 -
I have over 100lb to lose too - and I completely agree it can seem terrifying at first.
I'm trying to think of 10lbs at a time and will celebrate every time I hit another 10lb milestone, It makes it seem just a little bit more achievable.
Good luck on your journey!0 -
you can do this. It's acheivable.0

YOU CAN DO IT! Just take one day at a time!0

I have 100+ to lose too. Don't focus on the big number. Break it down. 10 pounds at a time! It doesn't sound so bad when you say you are working on 10 pounds now does it?
I've told myself that I have at least 10 sets of 10 to lose. I've lost my first set so only 9 more to go! Doesn't that sound better than 100 pounds total?
Please focus on smaller goals. When you have so much weight to lose, it can be overwhelming and discouraging. I've had moments where I've just wanted to give up because it seems like it's such a high number. You can do it though! You made the first step by coming here!
I've been here since 2010 but it's taken me until nov/dec 2012 to finally realize I have to do this for ME. Before that it was for other things (wedding, cruise, vacation, etc) Since I've made the main reason me, it is so much easier to stay focused! Good luck!0 -
YOU can do this. I know it's like looking down a long road with no end in sight but give it a couple of weeks and it gets easier. I lost 100 pounds in 9 months and hit 110 lost by one year on MFP.0

You can absolutely do this One pound at a time. Set small goals and don't forget to reward yourself throughout your journey.0

I'm new to this site as well and I would like to say thank you all for being so open and sharing your stories. I've been on this up and down weight battle myself but I’ve always tried to do it alone because of shame and embarrassment. After reading the success stories I now know I have nothing to be embarrassed about and I can do this. So I looked forward to taking it 10 lbs at a time! Happy weight loss journey to all!0

I'm in the same boat! I woke up one morning, took a look in the mirror and asked myself how did I get this big!! I just finished my first week and i'm excited to see where it goes from here!!0
-
i was a whopping 300lbs at one time .. yep i agree ..did i really allow myself to get that bad??? ...i sure did and wow what a ride I had working myself down from a size 26 to a current 14..i still have 50lbs left to go and im determined. keep the faith and take one day at a time. you can do it !0
-
you can do it and will suceed , you gotta have your mind right, it aint easy and there will be days you will fail but if you dont give up it will happen0
-
I'm in the same boat. I need to lose minimum 150 but my overall goal is 177. I keep reminding myself to take it one day at a time, because it didn't happen overnight. I log EVERYTHING I eat, make sure I drink 8 glasses minimum of water a day, and get as much exercise in as possible. I started with 30DS because I can do that at home and it's too cold for me to walk outside right now. Good luck and if you fall off track, get back up and try it again!0

I started with 130 pounds to lose and I'm 3 pounds away from my half way point! I set small goals too.
My first was 10 pounds and then the next was to get out of the morbidly obese range. Then joining onederville! Finally in the hundreds. My next goal is the half way point then I hope to get to 180 for my anniversary at the end of March! That leaves me with about a pound or so to get out of the obese range all together. Next is to lose 21 pounds for our holiday to the beach. My goal for the end of July is a weightloss of 100 pounds. That's our bible week, last year I weighed 258.8 pounds! My final goal is my goal weight!
So if you break it down in lots of steps, it doesn't look so huge!0 -
I need to lose 100 pounds also! girl, you can do it one day at a time. it is easy to let ourselves go but the great thing is, is that we realize we need to make changes.0
