Things they never tell you about weight loss

Yes. The sad thing is I never eat out anymore. It's so gross to me now. I don't even enjoy any part of it. Even really nice places, it's all drenched in oil and butter, unnecessarily so, and salty as hell. I want to gag sometimes just on the salt. The past few times, they ask, "was everything ok" becaus eits hardly eaten. and I'll tell them, greasy, oily, salty, I can't eat it. They just take it away and offer a cheesecake on the house. Ugh! They don't get it. Lol. It's ok, it's me, not them.
No one tells you about the cost of replacement clothes. I'm not a big shopper. I still wear jeans from the 90's. I wear my shoes for 12 or more years. So, I don't like shopping. It's a waste of money and time. But, yeah, it gets expensive having to replace everything.
Also in agreement with the new clothes. I'll go pick up stuff at second-hand stores/goodwill/whatever. $2 for a pair of pants > $34 at old navy.
I'm going to have to check out second-hand stores. That's a good idea.
After our hour fire in March last year I had to literally replace everything, so I just bought cheap things because I plan on losing more weight. But another great place to get them is Wal-Mart in the Springtime cause that's when everything is going on clearance, and you can get shorts and what not for like $3.0 -
It is official. I no longer fit into clothes at City Chic. It is a store for bigger women. One of those ones where a small is actually a size 18.
They always have fashionable clothing though and different from any other store. Unlike those annoying Target and BigW 'plus' sizes. Which are hanging rags (seriously, do they think big people don't have shape too!).
So yea. I went shopping in Canberra over christmas, and didn't know where to go. I no longer fit into the one store I would buy from. I found a couple sleeveless Guess tops that I definitely wouldnt have worn before.0 -
i would get fatigued just making the bed and once I changed my diet I no longer have that constant feeling of being tired.0

Also, I still love things like chocolate and chips. If I have been good for a week, then I no longer crave them, but as soon as I am bad, the cravings come back for another week.
I was craving icecream last night, but had a mango and the craving went away entirely. So I think my body just wanted sugar.0 -
I have noticed all of these. On the positive side a lot of things are better! It’s easier to find clothes, sex is more enjoyable, and I don't hate looking at pictures of myself anymore.
This kind of made me laugh. Sex is WAY easier and better. Fat sex is hard. There....I said it.
haha, these made me chuckle. I'm not enough into my journey to have anything to list yet... but the sex thing has been some of motivation!! Fat sex IS hard!!! We should make a group!! LOL
I strongly disagree, LOL! I mean the reverse cowgirl might not be as impressive, but not noticed a difference.
This may be kind of an inappropriate question but have any of the ladies noticed any changes either in feeling or tone to your ladybits?
I read once some guy said that it was different not as "pleasurable" since his wife lost weight.0 -

This happens to me I've called it food addiction detox when I fall into old habits especially why concentrated sweet consumption it will take me 3 days just to get the cravings out of my brain. It seems to take my body 3 days to detox from the addiction0 -
Yeah, the main one for me is that i've stopped snoring!0
-
totally!
I've only been working out for about 3 weeks now but the other day I went to put on one of my favourite rings and it was too big! I had to wear it on my middle finger and ever there it's a bit loose.
I also feel myself pulling up my jeans more, which as annoying as it is... is a very awesome feeling0 -

Probably depends on how old the woman is. Estrogen supply diminishes as a woman pushes toward 50, and if she does a lot of vigorous exercise, that also lowers estrogen levels--possibly enough that she will lose tone in her *ahem*--"ladybits" (and also possibly her bladder--and rectum). TMI, I know but *shrug* there it is.0 -
Finally finished all nine pages. Thought I'd bump the topic back to the top of the page so I'll have more to read when I get back from my shower0

Lets see...I have noticed them all!! I lost my wedding band last week. Luckily I found it this week!! Its on a chain now. I am cold ALL the time. And skin sag...YUCK!0

When my belly is gone and I lay on my side, I have no place to rest my arm. It used to lie comfortably on my belly, now I have to put my arm directly on my side kinda parallel with my hip. I could cross my legs at my knees or above. One has to learn how to reposition their selves in all places and yes, the lack of backside makes some chairs uncomfortable. High heels are easier.0

1. I was never cold before, and now I wear a sweater/jacket all of the time, and/or have a little heater going.
2. My behind gets very sore if I sit to long.
3. My feet have been shrinking, my dress shoes periodically come off.
4. My clothes got too big, I lost my skirt at church once, fortunately I was the only one in the area, but still.....
5. Friends have now decided to try and set me up with random guys.
lol this reminded me of when I was in high school and had lost weight, I was in gym class and had gym shorts with sturdy elastic waist, except I was wearing old too big underwear underneath. We were running and my underwear slid down and hung out the bottom of the shorts. I could of died of embarrassment...it was hilarious(now).0 -
I am really hoping my wedding rings will fit me again About a year ago I had to go on mega doses of steroids because of medical condition.., & HAVVE GAINED MORE WEIGHT THAN wanted toooo ! I am starting to taper down now... & trying to zumba & count calories...0

I have lost 32 pounds and I have 10 more to go. I agree with so much -
1. I am cold more - I have to wear a hat and gloves now in the winter.
2. It really bothers me wearing baggy clothes - I am not sure why but it really does. Thank goodness for ebay because I had very few clothes that fit well.
3. Folks' compliments cause me anxiety sometimes - like I can never gain the weight back now.
4. I feel so much better and I have more moments of happiness. I think the extra weight was a bigger stress producer than I knew.
5. How much I appreciate this cool tool - mfp. While I am anxious about maintaining, I think mfp will help me so much to maintain.0 -
The cold thing for sure.My hands actually started turning purple when they were cold.I went to the Doctor and I was diagnosed with Raynauds disease. The Doctor said "it's very common in tiny people". I was so shocked at being called a tiny person,I missed most of what she told me abouth the condition and had to read up on it later.I didn't know I had this disease because I wasn't tiny.Hmmm, skinny and purple or fat and fleshtone?0

You might want to make sure that you are "topped up" on your essential fatty acids. That seems to help some Raynaud's sufferers. There are lots of good EFA supplements around.0 -
My boobies are gone
I lost an inch on mine this past week. I was quite sad seeing as how they only finally decided to show up when I was 25 :grumble:0 -
funny I feel much warmer now than before I lost the weight. Bloodflow must be better even though the insulation is worse...
Agree on the tasting of grease. I used to LOOOOVE potato chips, now I get a nasty feeling at the roof of my mouth when I have some.
the following is TMI, but my bowels are more... um... regular. which is definitely very good.
Im much warmer too but my irion levels are yup.
i agree witht he chips and the BM too lol0 -
My boobs are gone as well and I have had to resize my rings.0

I secretly hope this happens to me.0 -

I use a "clutch pillow". Much more comfortable than resting my arm on me. I agree---the loss of padding on the back side can be problematic.0 -
I've noticed that on the days when I exercise, I'm not nearly as hungry as the days I don't. Can't make up my mind if it's the distraction of the workout (I'm someone who goes to the kitchen when bored) or if there's a physical reason for this. Does anybody know?
Same for me too. I'm not hungry on the days I work out. I used to be tired and sleepy when I started working out, but that changed after a week.0 -
For what it's worth, I find climbing the stairs to be much easier.0
-
I feel taller because now I can stand closer to the kitchen counter (no belly in the way) and therefore can actually reach items on the top shelf of the cabinets.
People tell me I look taller all the time0 -
Isn't that a great feeling not being afraid to sit down in a booth? I always feared going out due to this with friends, Good Job !0
-
I cant binge anymore. I have only been on here for less than a month but I can only eat small portions at a time.0
-
20+ kgs later you'll still feel fat but have NO boobs.0
-
bump0
