:drinker: :flowerforyou: jzbaby thanks for starting the new thread for May.....I need direction:laugh:
I am again resolving to do yoga and pilates regularly
today I took the half watched "Avatar" DVD out of the player to put in my yoga, then pilates DVD so I am on the right track. after two days of rain and no walks with the dogs or DH I am eager to be more active today.
Happy May to us "shorties"0 -
Happy May! I got my butt on the treadmill and even jogged a little today. I know I need to give myself some credit for it, but it's hard to not be able to do what I used to. Sometimes it's hard to not compared yourself to others...Just keep going, right?0

I started a boot camp today at my gym. It's MWF through the month of May. Time to get that bikini bod ready!0
-
I cannot believe it's May!
This afternoon I ran 3 miles on the treadmill at 6.2 (9:40) pace without doing any intervals / taking any breaks (the fastest I've run that distance possibly ever).
Here's to a great month everybody!0 -
Just popping in to say hello.
JZ - Thanks for starting the new thread.
For May I am really going to try and change just one thing - I'm going to really, really try to not use the elevator at work. I never use to, but then started due to my sore legs from exercising. But, I was just being wimpy. lol So, today I walked up and down the stairs every time but once. My new walking buddy can't go upstairs because of her knee, so after our 15 minute walk we rode the elevator back up.
Happy Monday all,

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone's Tuesday gets off to a great start. I slept pretty well last night which is something that doesn't happen often so I can appreciate it. Today is week 3 day 2 of the P90X program and it's a cardio day. Since I have been pretty successful w/HIIT I decided to try it again today. I really pushed myself w/the HIIT today and was very, very proud of myself.
Here's how I completed the routine today
5 minutes - warm up - 5.0 mph
30 second sprint - 8.0 mph
2 minute - recovery speed 6.0 mph
30 second sprint - 8.0 mph
2 minute - recovery speed 6.0 mph
I alternated between my sprint and recovery speeds for a total of 30 minutes.
Last week my sprint speed was 7.7 mph so I increased it just a bit. Next week I may try incorporating some type of incline into the equation but I'm not sure just yet.
Once the HIIT was completed I hoped on the spinning bike for 15 minutes and then completed a 15 minute ab circuit.
I'm glad I found you ladies. I haven't had a chance to catch up on the posts but will try to get to it before the end of the day. Have a great day everyone.0 -
Hi everyone. For the month of May, I am making my goal a small one, but something that is realistic for me to shoot for. I think when I make my goal a pound a week I start to get a little overwhelmed when I get behind & then tend to give up. So I am taking a different approach this month.
I weighed-in yesterday at 141.4. My goal for May 31st is 139.0. If I can get there & STAY there, I will be happy. If I lose any extra it will be a bonus. I have been eating pretty good for the last week, but I am still trying to get back to exercising. The lazy bug has come and I am having a hard time getting him to leave!!!!
Barbie- Thanks for the request! I didn't relize we werent friends yet!! And I like how you said "I try to only can compare myself to what I did yesterday." That is a great way to look at it & so true!!0 -
Good afternoon and happy Wednesday! Today is week 3 day 3 of the P90X program so it's a shoulders and arms day. I was able to get some decent sleep last night so I woke up refreshed and ready to "Bring It". I used my new 10 lb weights and it definitely made a difference w/the exercises especially the shoulders, can anyone say BURN. Workout is complete and I'm feeling pretty good.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Jzbaby: Hope you have more success w/your weight loss goals in May. Stay focused and get the healthy eating and great workouts in.0 -
Thanks Choco!0

:flowerforyou: I think today was my highest calorie burn ever........I got up early and had time for pilates and the exercise bike before going to line dance class
after lunch I did about 30 minutes of wii sports (batting, tennis, bowling, and golf) before going to the dog park for over an hour
after supper I did yoga and rode the exercise bike.....I'll get a sticker on the calendar tonight and probably won't be able to move tomorrow laugh I'm alternating days on the wii sports and playing right handed one day and left handed the next0 -
Good afternoon all! TOM has arrived and it's kicking my *kitten*. I've tried fighting back but all the kickboxing/Kenpo X in the world is not helping me win this battle. Like the singer Monica says "It's just one of those days, that a girl goes through, when you're angry inside, don't wanna take it out on you, it's just one of those days, don't take it personal........". I'm just not feeling it today. My body is sooo achy and I had to get up and come to work. I think the thing that's bothering me the most is that now that TOM has arrived early there's a STRONG possibility that I will be dealing w/it during my trip to L.A. at the end of the month.
Ok, no more ranting and raving it's here, I'm achy and I'll deal with it. Today is week 3 day 4 of the P90X program so I was suppose to complete Yoga X. I knew that wasn't happening so I threw in the Cardio X dvd instead. I've always liked this dvd b/c it allows you to sample a little Yoga, Kenpo, Plyo and Core plus it's a lot shorter than the other dvds.0 -
Hi all! I've been on MFP for 4 weeks now and things are going pretty good. I'm 4'11 and my SW was 144 now I'm 139.5. My goal for May is to lose 5lbs, and my ultimate goal is to be 115. Definitely gonna kick up my exercise and eat healthier this month.0

Hello! It's been a few days since checking in here, but it's not for lack of thought! lol... My goal this month is to kick up my exercise!
CaseyLynn- We are in the same boat! I'm 4'11 too! 115 at this point would be marvelous! You can do this!!!0 -
Happy Friday everyone! It's a BEAUTIFUL day here in GA, the sun is shining bright but it's going to be a hot one. Since I'm off today I'm going to mow the lawn before the heat becomes too brutal but I wanted to check in prior to heading out.
Today is week 3 day 5 of the P90X program and the "Leg and Back" dvd is complete. TOM is still trying to kick my tail but I'm fighting back harder today. Despite the achy body I really tried to bring it this morning and feel pretty good w/the outcome. I have one more day before I begin recovery week and i'm really looking forward to it.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Welcome Caseylynn, I wish you nothing but success on your weight loss journey.0 -

CaseyLynn- We are in the same boat! I'm 4'11 too! 115 at this point would be marvelous! You can do this!!!
That makes 3 of us! I am 4'11 & 141 lbs. My goal is 115-120 (we'll see when I get closer lol). Hopefully we can keep eachother motivated to get it done!! :flowerforyou:
Welcome to the group CaseyLynn & Light1980!0 -
jzbaby-Doesn't it make you feel good just knowing that there are others of us out there, (the "extra" shorties that we are), all dealing with the same struggles? We are not alone and that's a wonderful thing!0
-
Chocolickkyss- Thanks so much! Good luck to you!
Keakia and jzbaby- How cool?! We can do it!!!...I love this site0 -
Welcome CaseyLynn, Keakia and Light1980! Glad you found this forum and hope you stay posting here.
I've had a good week and like everyone else has mentioned my goal is to bump up the exercise.
For those new, my DD had extensive surgery in March and the rehab has been taking a toll on what ever free time I thought I had to do anything. Good news - DD can start running and walking this weekend!
So DD, DS and I are starting to train to run a charity 5k together by winter. Although, I will probably be walking part of it.
How about a summer/fall challenge to each do a 5k walk/run for your favorite charity?
It will get us all outside, moving, benefit a good cause and get us a new teeshirt.

I'M BACK! The TOM symptoms have finally subsided and I hit the ground running this morning. Today is week 3 day 6 of the P90X program and I got up at 6 am to rock it out w/the Kenpo X dvd. After "Bringing It' w/Kenpo, I hopped in the shower so I could bring a friend to the airport. Once my friend was dropped off I headed to the gym and did 30 minutes on the stairmaster and a 15 minute ab circuit. Feeling great after the workout I headed to the sauna so I could relax for a little bit and then grapped a protein shake as I was leaving the gym. Since it's an absolutely beautiful day here in GA I decided to continue my shopping and was able to find 2 pair of sandals and a pair of sneakers....Woo HOO! Once I was done shopping I decided to rent a couple of movies and grab lunch. I've finally made it back to the house and I'm really looking forward to relaxing the remainder of the day.
Hope everyone's weekend has gotten off to a wonderful start.0 -
Happy mother's day to all the mom's out there. I hope your children are allowing you to enjoy your day however you desire. My post will be quick today b/c I am about to head out for a little bit and then plan on preparing my clothes and things for the upcoming work week. Today is week 3 day 7 of the P90X program so I completed 30 minutes of stretching.0

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms in our forum,
This should be a lowkey day for us ending with dinner out. I plan on walking the dogs and exercising as much as I can throughout the day.
Enjoy!

:flowerforyou: Happy Mothers Day
i got text messages from two friends this morning  My mother has been gone for almost 20 years and my MIL died this year---my only children are step children who usually don't acknowledge the day and pets who treat me like every day is Mothers Day so I happy today.
:drinker: we're doing our Isagenix cellular cleanse today so eating out is not an option          we're leaving tomorrow for a nine day trip that will include more restaurant meals than usual so I will be treated over and over and have to be very careful to stay balanced.
 Yesterday I went on a day trip with a friend......I brought my own food so I skipped the lasagne lunch that was served and took a walk in the sunshine instead.......I walked for 30 minutes on the passenger deck of the ferry going and coming home and rode the exercise bike in the morning and evening and stayed within my calories (just barely  )0 -
Happy Mother's Day! It's a bit windy here in Las Vegas today....but beautiful, sunny blue skies! Hope everyone is enjoying their day!0

Good morning all! It's another beautiful day to the beginning of the work week. Today is week 4 day 1 of the P90X program which means it's RECOVERY WEEK, WooHoo!!!! According to the calendar I was suppose to complete the Yoga workout but switched it out w/the Core Cardio and Balance dvd of the Insanity program. I hadn't completed an Insanity workout in over 4 weeks so it felt good rock out to it this morning. This particular workout is one of my favorites since it doesn't move at such an extreme pace. I'm actually able to complete every last exercise w/no stopping until I get to balance portion. The hip flexor and arm burners are killer moves and I usually have to break a couple of times. I also like this workout b/c it's pretty short. I mean I rocked it out and 37 minutes later it was over.
I just finished eating a nice hearty bowl of oatmeal w/strawberries and a little added protein powder and it was delicious.
I'm running a tad behind schedule so I only had a chance to skim the posts. I will try to read everyone's in detail a little later.
Have a great day everyone!0 -
Ahhh! Mother's Day Weekend wasn't a good one (although it was for my mom :flowerforyou: ) My sister graduated from college on Saturday so we were at the ceremony half the day. Then ofcourse we celebrated with FOOD (Applebees). We were supposed to go to the movies but ended up at a friends house talking allll night. So I get back home really late and NO excercise! The only thing I had eaten besides Applebees was yogurt, but the meal I ordered by itself was more calories then my daily allowance (not to mention appetizers) :ohwell: On Sunday...went to church, out to eat AGAIN, to the movies, grocery shopping, to my grandfathers house, and the gas station (random lol). Once again I got home really late and had NO excercise.
Anyways, I hope everyone else's weekend went a little better, especially all the Mommies. I'm starting over today and getting back on track, but I must admit that I'm dreading weigh in this week. :indifferent:0 -
:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: We leave in about an hour to go to California for our daughter's graduation from college.....because we are staying with our son and his family (imagine four adults, two teenagers, and a toddler in a house with one bathroom and one computer) we may not get to the computer much on the trip.    so I decided to give myself a vacation from posting food and exercise. The first thoughts through my head this morning were to eat a "little extra" breakfast since I wasn't going to post it. But on a saner note as I was packing the cooler, I was mentally counting calories (apple slices 55 calories, hard boiled egg 70 calories......) so I guess I count whether I log it or not.
:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: The cats have been dropped off at The Cat's Pajamas, DH is getting his hair cut, then we drop the poodles off at the boarding place and head south........  it's raining so it won't be the most beautiful drive but we love the rain because it keeps Washington green
:flowerforyou: I'll post when I can.......let's all stay focused......we can do this. Barbie0 -
Hello everyone,
We ate at the Japanese Kitchen last night and it was wonderful Even having Tempura Ice Cream for dessert did not put me over my calories. I just exercised throughout the day in anticipation. lol
I've started adding 1 pound weights to my workout where ever I can and they really do change the tone of the workouts.
Happy Monday to all and appreciate all that you have today.
