Every morning before my shower and it posts automatically through Fitbit. I embrace the daily fluctuations and have been working to understand the ebbs and flows of my body. I also have a spreadsheet for analysis. I have had a steady loss since starting and average 0.225 lbs per day. My weight fluctuations are 99% water and consistently conceal any real loss or gain. I use an average of my last 7 days as my "weight". It bums me out to see gains. Weighing daily I can comfort myself that tomorrow will come quickly. I don't think I could weigh myself weekly because 1 out of 3 weeks I would show a gain just from my water fluctuations. I would be crazed to have to wait another week to know if it was a real gain or not. I found I'd have to go to a monthly weighing schedule to avoid my water fluctuations from causing false gains which is too little feedback for my attention span. On the flip side, I've earned that false losses are just as common as false gains and can be equally frustrating.

Learning to understand my body has been the big lesson learned. It extends beyond just the scale and has been as cornerstone to my success with MFP

Every morning...after my pee and before I dress. I have learned through trial and error ....that it is the only thing that keeps me honest. I am always mindful of the bulk of food and the water gain from high sodium meals. So I only log my weight once a week...and that is the lowest weight of the week. Sun to Sat.

I weigh myself once a week - tuesday mornings at the gym because I don't own a scale. I become to obsessed with the numbers as well - may be encouraging for some people (and I can understand why after reading through the thread!) but I'm one of the ones who works best with a weekly weigh-in. Sometimes I look at it as a surprise - look at what I've lost - so I get excited for tuesday mornings haha.

Every morning. I don't panic if I go up, as I have been doing this enough to know my weight fluctuates. I only log when I have lost though. That is actually the painful part of using MFP - I am not honest about the times I gain weight, I just ignore those numbers and log the next time I lose.
  • Pretty unhealthy, but I'm addicted to getting on the scale once or twice a day!
  • I weigh first thing in the morning after I pee without clothing. Then I exercise, eat breakfast and before I shower I like to weigh again. Most times my weight is a tiny bit lower. I find it interesting.
  • Every day, just to make sure I'm not dipping too far down.

I check weekly but sometimes I wished I didn't check.
For instance last week I weighed myself and I lost a few pounds...then I cheated the next 5 days.

    Weekly, not religiously.

Or sometimes ramdomly when i wake up and my belly is sucked in and hip bones are trying to pierce through skin. Its wtf moment and i never log the weight cos usualy its just a spike down due to ramdom stuffs .

At the begining I used to weight myself 2 times a day >> Morning and just before sleep. Sure shows how much good visit to toilet matters :D

I'm in the every day but don't pay much attention to it club. I've found that my weight does not go off in nice even linear chunks, but bounces up and down by up to 5 lbs a day. There have been lots of time where I'd have thought I was gaining weight if I only did it once a week.

I'm also enough of a geek where I have my weight loss plan on an excel spreadsheet complete with upper and lower control bands. If I find myself above the upper band, I cut back more over the next few days. If I find myself below the lower band it's donut time (metaphorically speaking).

    Once a week.
  • I've been working on my weight loss nearly a month, and I do weigh myself everyday. Mostly because I've been really struggling to figure out how my change in hormones (thank you turning 30) is making difficult to lose weight. So, I've been trying to see how what kind of exercise I do, etc... effects my body regularly.

Once I've achieved some consistency, I'm planning on weighing in less frequently, but I'll admit it feels a little addicting. I will pry have to start eliminating one day at a time, til I get to once a week. I won't do less than that till I'm 50 pounds (of 75ish total in my goal.)

I've been overweight my whole life, and not being diligent has never helped me change that.

I do the wii fit in the morning and that gives me my weight every day at the same time in pretty much the same clothes so it keeps me focused and helps me to stay on track.
