Thanks Girls !!!! Good to know it is just not me that couldn't do it at my 280 lbs self...let me correct myself 279.5...self I know it is still huge, but that 27# means alot to me...
I burned an extra 60 calories than i normall do just walking couldn't imagine how much more i would actually of burned if I had done it.0 -
Cris & Lildebbie - Thank you will have to look into that more. I have been doing something like that as far as walking fast for a 60 sec then running for 60 sec and I do that for 30 min. My husband is a firefighter and some of the firefighters are personal trainers as well and they said that is the best cardio to burn fat. I try to switch between that and elliptical.
Momma - I think we are all in the same boat, but I also think we think more about it than anyone else does. Might be a slow go but I think I am starting to figure it out. Food is still an issue for me but I am really starting to eat less and mostly better, but I have really been working out like crazy and have finally figured out how to fit it in my schedule. I think the biggest issue is sticking with it!!!
Check in for yesterday:
Calories - a little under
Exercise - Elliptical for 30 min and upper body stuff for 20 min
Water - good, probably about 64oz
Proud - had a big lunch so made sure to have a really healthy light dinner
Had a ton of posts to read through, sorry I couldn't respond to everyone, but keep up the good work and thanks for letting me be a part of your group!!
Jamie0 -
Pos Me, momma - what glitch are you talking about? Yesterday it wouldnt let my message through so I gave up. I posted today and got no reply, so I was just sulking. :brokenheart:
Sorry Mari, thought you were complaining about not getting a post up. I wondered what you meant because I saw your post earlier. I assumed that maybe you had tried to post something after that and were unable to get it to come up. I didn't realize that you wanted a response from the earlier post. Sorry:flowerforyou:0 -
What a busy day!! I just wanted to say after reading all the posts from today that I am going to dearly miss you ladies the next few days! I'm going to try and check in on my phone when I can. I'm sure I will have plenty of time on the car ride there and back! I think everybody is doing amazing and is making amazing progress. Physically and emotionally. We are all coming along slowly but sure and we're doing it together!
I have been running around like a crazy woman all day. Thank goodness I took the day off. I did the unspeakable today. I tried on a swimsuit...yep...I did it. It was starring at me at Old Navy saying "Try me on try me on!" so I thought..."what the heck" and so I grabbed a XXL and an XL and guess what!? The XL fit and even better...I wasn't disgusted with the way it looked. I was quite pleased actually! I didn't buy it because I have no need for a swimsuit right now. By the time I need one I might even be in a smaller size. It made my day. I went off to the eye doctor and decided to finally break down and buy new glasses. Since I started losing weight mine are currently too big and fall off my face. I've had them for 3 or 4 years. I can't wait to get them back. They are super cute!
Mari-I thought you meant you couldn't post. I'm sorry girl! Don't feel like you were skipped over. We luv ya girl!
LilDebbie-Don't let it get ya down. You will get the c25k! Try and try again. Don't let it get you down. You are making progress and that's great! Glad you aren't going to let it stop you and make you quit. I know you will get there!
Momma-I love hearing your stories. They always make me smile when you talk about you and your husband!
I think there were more I was going to comment on but I can't remember. I'm making some homemade burgers tonight so I better get started. Then I'm off to my sisters house to stay there since we are leaving by 4 A.M. I'll try and check back in later! Miss you ladies!0 -
So many posts..... So little time
super hectic day at work but I'm at the salon now so time to catch up with everyone
so much fun hearing you all talk about the aller sizes. It's amazing how diverse we all are. I'm a solid 16 at 189 lbs and can fit into a few larger 14s. Now I really want to go shopping
I just bought a ... Gasp .... Dress. For a wedding next weekend. I dislike the clothing form generally but I do feel pretty good about this one. It's a black wrap dress with cap sleeves and it makes my boobs look fabulous
Will be shopping for some spanx in the next few days. !!!!!
Welcome back Renea !!!!!
Cris - you are going to kick butt at the weigh in next week !!!!
Have a fun trip Jess !!!!!
Get those measurements done ladies !!!!!
Xoxo until later. It's a pain to type on the iPhone0 -
I just got great news! My boss is moving me to the room across the hall next year! This means GOODBYE MOLD! The new room is mold-free AND is bigger than my current room. I am so happy! I also heard that the other teachers are pleading with my boss so that they do NOT get my old room! LOL
Can we make a truce and all agree that it's OK not to comment on every post? I hope you all don't mind that I don't comment on everyone's posts. I read them all, I swear! But many nights I just do not have time. I am not offended if no one comments on my posts. I know you all love me and want only the best for me. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
check in:
cals: close to the edge but OK
water: 90
exercise: full monty
proud: I wore a 4x top to work and I didn't keep pulling at it!0 -
Marie - your post was great! It just gets easy to get lost in the crowd especially when there are several posts that go up around the same time It never hurts to call us out on it so we all try to do a better job of responding but never feel slighted because I promise you we are all reading your posts even if we don't comment directly! And while it might seem otherwise - we all post things that are never commented on by others - it just happens!
So many of you are closing in on the One hundreds! WHOOT WHOOT!!!
I wore a skirt to the "Memorial Gathering" last night and my sister said "Hey! you lost your Steinhauser!" That's my grandma's maiden name and our nick name for our sturdy Eastern European hips - made to birth babies and help plow fields. Today I put on a simple Old Navy dress my SIL passed down to me and wore it out for lunch. I never wear dresses and I wore skirts twice last weekend (in Lexington) and again this week - what a difference 30 pounds makes!
Speaking of 30 pounds- like LilDebbie I'm starting to see more 7's and less 8's in my weigh-ins! My current weight on MFP is 179 but I've been bouncing up to 184 plenty of times - over the past week this seems to have finally really dropped into the 178-179 range - phew! I was starting to get worried even though I KNOW it's been due to my bad behavior.:ohwell:
We've gone to Ray's Place almost every day this week. I've been over in my calories almost every day this week. The good news is that I've probably eaten about 1/3 of what I would otherwise eat. I've made pretty good choices (turkey Rubens and sweet potato fries, one beer only, only taking a few bites of a shared dessert, splitting my sandwich or leaving off the bread).
I haven't had any exercise since I took a walk around the hospital last Thursday.
The service went well - my step-daughter and niece put together five big photo boards with 'scrape booking' style presentations - really awesome - showing Millie in her childhood and recently. Pictures of her winning the regional archery event in the 50s, thirty years of ice skating, pairs then dancing, photos of her gardens and awards for flowers, photos of her with her grandkids and great grand kids - photos of her precious pet geese and goats... and lots of little turtles scattered around the rooms that people gave her after she had a bad bike accident trying to save a turtle in the middle of the road. The urn we picked out is solid cherry and very simple, and we had lost of mason jars filled with flowers from her yard (and a few from mine) and then more formal cut glass vases we took from her house filled with white and pink roses (sorry if I already shared this!). My nephew put together a nice sign asking each person to pick out a polished stone to take with them, and I had individual flowers in party cups at the exit - a mix of snap dragons and pansies.
AND we went to Ray's Place for a few Gin martini's in honor of Millie after the service
Ken took his daughter to the airport this evening and we have the house to ourselves again. I have to go back to work tomorrow and it feels too soon but I think it's about right. A normal workday will be good therapy!0 -
I think that it's fine to not comment on posts - cause otherwise we'd all be too busy commenting to actually check in and we DON'T want people to feel like they HAVE to comment just to check in!
And as one of our more long-winded posters - I think we shouldn't feel the need to apologize for long posts either I know that when ever I see a nice long post I'm excited!
Likewise we should NEVER apologize for our enthusiasm because that's what keeps us all motivated! As soon as one of us loses our mojo, someone else finds theirs! It's GREAT! :smokin:
Checking in for today:
Calories - over by 200
Water - haven't had more than a few gulps in days :grumble:
Exercise - no. Although I had a dream about running - does that count
Proud - that I didn't use the stress of the past ten days to over eat (too much). It would have been nice to exercise too but that's a little harder to build into a bedside vigil!:frown:0 -
mstahl-Sounds like Millie's service was beautiful! I love pictures and I'm sure the collages they put together were beautiful. Hope you have a good day back to work.
bluenote-Congrats on getting to move to a different room next year! YAY for no mole!!
So why wont this jack in the box add go away!? It keeps popping up! That's just wrong on this website if you ask me. Guess it's trying to test you with temptation. A temptation challenge! DENIED!
I made the burgers and they were fabulous! Thanks LittleSpy for your recipe! I found the extra lean beef at walmart. I'm off to pack up my car and head to my sisters. My poor puppy Izzy knows I'm leaving her. She's been following me around like stink on poo...she normally wont eat when I'm gone so I hope she will this time. She has my roommate. I worry about my dog like she's my child I swear!! Anywho! Hope you all have a fab night. Talk to you soon!
Jess
P.S. Thank you all for the well wishes on my trip. I'm very excited. For those who are on my facebook I"m sure you will be seeing my updates! If you aren't and have facebook feel free to add me. I know we have some newbies

I second that Truce motion !!!!
I couldn't possibly comment on everyone post every day. I'd go bonkers !!!!
I don't ever mind if you all don't comment back on my posts but I'm happy to chat if you do.
if I want feedback I'll just keep bugging you
Blue - so pleased you are getting put of that nasty moldy room !!!!!0 -
Blu - wTG on the new room!!!
Well hubby got home from work and i got the girls and we were about to start dinner and bam all our power went out (and i was freaking starving)..so we had to go out as we had no gas or power and eta like 2hrs. I told hubby i wanted to go i could get something healthy. SO we went to applebees and i did awesome, i got one of the ww meals grilled chicken with roasted potatoes, and I got corn instead of the mix veggies, i can't do broccoli (or at least cooked) and that is a big part of their mixed veggies, but the corn wasn't buttered or anything so i think probably about the same cals...anyway I was very proud of my self Hubby was getting annoyed at me cause he was wanting the fried tacos' (after they cinco de mayo celebration at work and probably already ate over his calories) and i was telling him try to get something healthier...he ended up getting a grilled chicken wrap and salad...0 -
Hi Everyone!!! Well I was not good today. I really over ate. I had a really bad night last night and it bled into today. I haven't eaten as much as would have but I still made several bad choices. I am going to take my measurements tonight and I will post them in the morning.
Checking in for today
Calories- Way over
Water - Over 100 oz!!
Exercise 10 mins of walking
Proud - Nothing! I have been bad these last few days and need to get out of this funk!
Mari - I also thought you meant that you had a long post and couldn't post it. Sorry!!
Jess - Have a great time on your trip!! Be careful and safe!
Everyone have a great evening!! See you all in the morning!0 -
Wow! 3 posts went up while I was typing. Man, I thought I typed fast. I guess I need to type faster!!
lildebbie - Great job on the dinner and convincing the husband to eat healthy too!
Blue - Great on the room!! You would think they would have moved you out of there already.
Question - How do you post when using the iPhone? Do you have to go on the website or is there an easier way?0 -
Hi girls,
Glad that I found you. Just wanted to say hello. I am about 16 pounds away from a healthy weight so I am seeing if I can do this on my own without posting every single thing. Thanks for all the support this group has given me. I will stop in and say hello from time to time. There are some of you that I realized are not on my friend list. If I have missed you, please friend me. Have a great evening.0 -
Snowflakes! You're sooo close!!! OMG I'm so happy for you!
You had BETTER check in from time to time! I want to hear about your warm weather activities - you kept me so inspired with your winter outdoors workouts.
LilDebbie- I'm so impressed at your control when you were already famished! That's great!
I am really looking forwards to getting to the gym in the morning and getting some running in! I'm not ever sure where I left off but I'll figure something out...0 -
Mstahl - I was soo excited, when i looked and applebees has nutrional info on everything on there menu, so unlike most resturants...mine had ww points so wasn't sure how many it had, but only had 370. I am sooo under cals today, i haven't even hit 1000 cals today...thought i was doing soo good but i guess a little too good
Was totally shocked on hubby's grilled chicken wrap...it has it over 1000 cals, we don't get why...my guess is the mexi ranch sauce...oh my....should of let him get the fried wonton taco's had less cals (but i am not telling him that0 -
Snowflakes - Congrats on being sooo soo close.0

Ok I better go to bed. Gotta be up to hit the road in a few hours0 -
Hi all, checking in for the evening. I had a MAJOR craving for Chinese food, so I picked some up on the way home. However, the way home was a really long walk! I essentially walked home from work (about 5 miles) and somewhere along the way, I decided I NEEDED chicken and broccoli. However, I did get it with brown rice and no egg roll. I'll count those as wins.
Cals: 1472, with 93 exercise leftover
Water: 64 oz (I will be better tomorrow when I'm back at my desk and on schedule more)
Exercise: 5 mile walk home
Proud: No egg roll and my choice to enjoy the lovely weather and just be outside walking. I called my mom on the walk up, so we got to talk for close to an hour. That's a nice thing too.0 -
When I post from my iPhone, I have to log in to the site to post comments here on our board. I can track my food through the app, but not check in with you lovely ladies.0
-
Well ladies...it's 4 AM and I'm awake. Were in the car headed outta Texas! Are we there yet?! Jk! Will be back later! I'm too excited to sleep.0
-
I had to weigh in today for another thread I'm on and guess what??? MY TICKER IS AT THE HALFWAY MARK!:drinker:0
-
Chris - Congrats on that 1/2 way mark0
-
Yay Cris! Congrats on hitting the halfway mark!! :drinker:0
-
:flowerforyou: Cris...{{{HUG}}} For Reaching the half way mark...CONGRATS!!!:flowerforyou:
Jess: You better take lots of pictures to share...be safe0 -
I love pictures...there will be tons!! :bigsmile:0
-
Yay Cris, that's bada**! I'm pretty sure you've got me beat now. TOM's still here & I ate pizza for dinner last night, but I was 202.8 this morning which is still up from last Friday (But is a whole hell of a lot better than the 208 I've been all week thanks to TOM!).
Blue -- SOOO glad you're getting out of that nasty room! And I don't care what anyone says, bigger IS usually better.
mstahl -- I definitely agree with commenting/not commenting and your take on long posts. As you're all very aware, I have a problem with brevity. I also have a "What were we just talking about?" kind of memory. So, those things equal long posts and forgetting to comment on other posts.
elmox -- That walk to work sounds lovely. And great job ordering brown rice! My fav. chinese place doesn't have that option. But then, when I order from there I consider it a special "treat" so I just get whatever I want (which is so one of the worst things on the menu - Honey chicken. ).
LilDeb - great job on those good food choices! You had a great opportunity to really blow it there and you didn't fall for it -- fantastic!
Jess -- have fun!
Snowflakes -- glad to see you check in! Congratulations on your success, you're going to be at your goal before you know it!
Raider-- get out of that funk! Continuously eating bad food and overeating only makes you feel worse! It's a nasty spiral, so snap out of it! We know you can do it.
05.05.10
Calories: 1604 (goal 1521. bf sabotage)
Exercise: 25 minutes stationary bike. I felt like poo.
Water: 17 cups I think.
Proud: I did not have a single drop of soda, diet or not, all day. :noway: :noway: :noway: I *only* drank water, plain and carbonated. I drank the carbonated water whenever I would've had a soda (with food) and I didn't even miss the soda at all! HOLY CRAP! I've broken my soda addiction! :drinker:0 -
HOLY CRAP! I've broken my soda addiction! :drinker:
HOOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!:drinker: :flowerforyou:0
