spray tamari or braggs aminos on pop corn. I top with a sprinkle of nutritional (brewers) yeast for the buttery-ness flavor. MMMMMM yummy. Also my toddler would eat this all day every day.

I like Tastefully Simple Fiesta Dip Mix. It's in a shaker - just a blend of spicy spices....makes for a delicious spicy popcorn. (I wonder what a little Lime Pepper and Cayenne would be like.....)

Nutritional yeast has an interesting cheesy taste and makes it super nutritious without adding anything bad. I can sometimes get my kids to eat it that way. Yeast is super high in B vitamins.

nori/seaweed flakes. You can get them in Asian markets or sometimes Whole Foods.

Adds nutrition, almost no calories, and it's delicious. Nori is the sheet of seaweed that goes on sushi rolls.

I tried one that was chili powder, cumin, and nutritional yeast, it wasn't bad. It included butter, but a spray work just to get the spices to stick.

I know you said savory preferred, but my new favorite is to pop 37 grams of kernels and add 1 tsp of honey + 1/2 tsp cinnamon. SO good.

They sell flavor shakers in the popcorn section . I believe they are 0 calories. like cheddar cheese, nacho cheese.

Actually I think they are like 5 or 10 calories. Regardless, very few none the less. I use these with a little non-stick spray to make the seasoning stick. I like the ranch, nacho cheese and the white cheddar...yum.

Powdered dressings... a dash of ranch powder, or italian dressing and it's less than 5 calories.

parmesan cheese is my favorite. sprinkle on while it's still hot, and it'll stick better.

To store it, let it cool to room temperature before putting into baggies or containers. If it's still soggy, try storing in a brown paper lunch bag, or one of those little cardboard take-out boxes. The paper/cardboard is not airtight, so the popcorn won't sweat, but it probably won't stay as fresh as long either. Good luck! And thanks everyone for all the ideas!!!

I use a small amount of grape seed oil in the butter warmer to get sea salt to stick to it. Tablespoon for like 8 cups of popped corn.

Also, you can pop corn in the microwave without buying the prepackaged stuff. Put a quarter cup of kernels in a regular brown paper lunch bag, spray the kernels with a little cooking spray (I do this before dumping into the bag), fold the top of the bag down 2 times (about a half inch fold each time) and put it in the microwave for 2 or 3 minutes until the popping slows down.

Tastefully simple onion onion seasoning. It's dehydrated onion and some other seasoning and goes great with popcorn.

^^Can't wait to try this tonight!
I usually add Cajun or Greek seasoning to mine. A little dry ranch dressing mix is good too. I just spritz with a little olive oil and sprinkle something on.

Hot sauce, no lie. It does something with the popcorn, doesn't really add much heat but lots of flavor.
  • They have popcorn seasoning in your popcorn aisle for only 2 calories and its the BOMB. white cheddar is my absolute favorite. makes it cheesy popcorn and like no calories.
