Good for you! Thanks for posting your pics today ~ very encouraging! Keep up the great work!!!
  • I normally would never reveal the information I am getting ready to tell all of MFP! This world is not a very accepting and loving place to be in an oversize body. However, I know there are more people out there in the same situation I am in and that is working diligently to become a healthy individual. I hope if you are out there reading this post and you have doubts, PLEASE believe that it is possible! If I can get up off my *kitten* and do this...SO CAN YOU!

So here goes...I started this journey Sept 21, 2012, at 360lbs...4 months later I am 309lbs, who would have thought??? The first month of my journey I concentrated completely on logging my food! I have always heard that 30 days makes a habit...it must be true because now I am almost OCD about logging my food. I joined Curves Oct 25, 2013 with starting measurements:
    60.5" Bust
    59.0" Waist
    67.5" Ab
    64.5" Hips
    29.0" Thigh
    17.8" Arm
    346 Weight
    55.84 BMI
58% Body Fat % (estimated, it did not register on the meter)
    173 (lb) Body Fat

I am now at the following measurements as of Jan 23, 2013:
    57.3" Bust
    54.0" Waist
    64.0" Ab
    61.0" Hips
    25.8" Thigh
    16.8" Arm
    314 Weight
    50.8 BMI
49.8% Body Fat % (actual, it now registers on the meter)
    157 (lb) Body Fat

    Now for the pics...

  • :flowerforyou: Very inspiring!!! I just started using MFP and have found it to be very helpful. I log everything I put in my mouth. I cant wait until I lose the first 10#'s. I have a couple of questions to ask you if dont mind. I know everyone lose weight differently but according to your weight loss did you eat at least 1200 calories? Ive heard anyone should always eat no less than 1200 cals.(I'm finding it kind of hard to get in the whole 1200) and how often do you exercise? Im glad you shared your success story. Its stories like this that gives me more determination and motivation!!! Im very proud of you. Keep up the GOOD work and continue to share your success stories along with the pictures. :flowerforyou:

    Ahhhmoment,

I don't think I have ever went over my allotted MFP cals for a day; however, there are days that I do eat less than 1200 cals, but I DO NOT make it a habit to eat less than 1200 cals. My doctor has even told me it is not healthy to eat under 1200 cals on a regular basis...plus eventually your body will think it is in starvation and start storing fat instead of burning the fat. Feel free to check out my journal

As for exercise, I did not actually start a regular regimen until my 2nd full month of my journey. I go to Curves 3x a week, and add occasional walks. I plan to add another 2 days a week to my regimen come March or April (when it warms up).

Hope this answered your questions. Let me know if you have any others.

    Take care!
