It's been hard to post, my Wi Fi is way fickle. :grumble: As always, work snackin at night is hard. We ordered bread sticks tonight so I'm not even hungry for food yet. :embarassed: Only had 2 chocolate candies. And I'm just gonna drink water until I get hungry again. , then eat some of my good food.

    Dew: 14 - Late snacks: 0.

Tonight, later cut-off (10, thought I'll try to stop earlier), as we go out and I don't see any chance of going to be before midnight anyhow.

    Dew: 14 - Late snacks: 1.

I crossed the 10pm line, so even though I went to bed past midnight, I'll give the point to the snacks, because I had a cake. :blushing:

Looks like Jason has deleted his account :(. Did he get kicked out or something? Wonder if he's back under a different name.

Had some chocolate covered pretzels that dayshift left. So my rule of "not eating other food until mine was gone" was broken. :blushing: .

Too bad about Jason. He was entertaining.

I'm going to count last night as a success as I wasn't able to have dinner until I got home from the gym at 8:30, but had a very small one and very healthy.

    Where did everyone go?

 no cheating! You took one point back from snacks  .
    Where did everyone go?

Have been asking myself the same question. :ohwell: You and Rosemary are keeping me going  :flowerforyou:.

A clear point for snacks here: Dew 16 - Late snacks 2. I hate being hungry all day - even if I eat a decent dinner, I'm still feeling hungry for a while after :ohwell: .

My numbers weren't adding up. But last night was not a success as I stress ate. But I not too bad. And I am back on track today.

    Did we lose Rosemary too?

Thank you for hanging in there with me Dewdrop. This helps me to be more conscious of it as I know I'm going to see the numbers in front of me the next day.

Dew 17 - Late snacks 2 (came back late, ate a bit later, but stayed up late too - is that a good excuse, actually?)
lulabelle, :flowerforyou: We'll stick with this up until the end, right? Even if it's just the two of us!
Nah, I don't think Rosemary left - she's still with us, right? Zaza might be around too, just not posting regularly. I just wish I knew why the others dropped (if they did) - did they get discouraged after a series of failures or did they do too well to bother? In either case, I want them back!

I'm not gone just a bit lost. I'm at my daughters this week helping her with her twins -talk about a busy house. Then I've been doing yard work at my house -separating irises to give to people, planting bushes and annuals and planting a cherry tree. Next week the plan is to plant some more vegetables in the flower beds and do and a bit of spring cleaning/organizing on my days off.

    Anyway it's:
    Rose 15
    Snacks 5

I appreciate your consistency Dew and Lula. :flowerforyou: It's great to know you'll be here and the thread won't be too hard to find.

Welcome Skinnybrit. I hear you about the salt. When we were kids we used to just pour a little pile of salt in our palms in the summer to just plain eat. :noway: Not near that crazy now. And my blood pressure is always normal to low. Make sure your thyroid is ok, also that you are using a good sea salt with trace minerals in it and also that your getting a good quality vitamin supplement with several different kinds of minerals in it.
Dewdrop and Lulabelle have great ideas for late night healthy snacks. I like the herb tea or bits of fruit ideas the best. If I have calories left or it wouldn't put me much over, I like to eat 5 green olives. :drinker:

Your gardening sounds wonderful, Rosemary :flowerforyou:
I had dinner late and then had a few more bites an hour later, so Dew 17 - Late snacks 3.
I'd better make sure the no for snacks stays there. They don't deserve more than 3 points this month!

    Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

I actually started making myself a sandwich after my cutoff, pulled out all the ingredients, and thought "what in the world are you doing?" And put everything back. Wow, who knew I had any willpower in me.

Well last night was better snack wise at work. That's where it's usually impossible. Followed my rule of no snacks until I eat my good food. :drinker: Then bought a couple of things from our Snack Box. But they were too sugary so now I feel sickish. :frown: Just can't consume sugar like I used to.

I think it was easier to keep track of when the challenge was only a week long. I always have to go back and see what the numbers were on my last post and do the math. People may be hesitant to read thru a long post and also reluctant to jump-in in the middle of something. :glasses:

Lula, the sandwich story is really inspiring! That's the Lorna I know! :flowerforyou:.

Skinnybrit, I am not ignoring your question, but nothing light and salty comes to my mind... maybe cottage cheese? Milk and cornflakes can be filling, a banana/other fruit can do, but they are not salty. Tee is a good idea to keep you busy. Some people chew gum - that makes me even hungrier and I think it's unhealthy, because it sends signals to your brain/stomach that you're having food, when you're actually not!
Anyway, what we're up to here, is actually to stop eating all together past a certain time - make it 2 hrs before going to bed and you should be safe .
I always have to go back and see what the numbers were on my last post and do the math.

So do I, but I don't mind. If you find it more motivational to start weekly threads, please start them. I don't mind. One advantage I see with the monthly one is that we don't abandon the challenge during the weekends, thinking that we're starting all over again on Monday anyhow. Plus, I feel it's a bit unfair if I did well for 6 days in a row to start from 0 again - not so stimulating :ahwell:. But that's not so bad . What I found really frustrating was resetting the counter to 0 every time I failed (my fist rule for the game) - that got so discouraging at some point!

As for my numbers: I stopped eating at 7 last night :noway:, so Me: 18 - Late snacks 3. :drinker:
  • This is my weakness. My husband and oldest daughter need to gain weight and gorge on swiss cake rolls and cookies as a late night snack. I crave sweets after every single meal. It is so hard not to grab one. Right now i'm trying to keep it within just one pack of the 100 calorie packs. Maybe after a week or 2 i can even cut those out. It is a real struggle for me. Any tips, please share

    Good morning-
I have completely lost track of this challenge. I've been off mfp again for over a week I think. Didn't want to face reality. :blushing: Also, my son is home and my schedule is off and I just don't get on here. He's still home for one more week and we have a houseguest for the week, but I got the results from my annual bloodwork and I need to force myself to pay more attention and log in here. I also haven't been exercising regularly and that has to change too. So much work to be healthy and to lose even a few pounds! :grumble: Ugh!

I know this challenge is critical to lsoing wieght and a healthier lifestyle so I'm back in. Tonight will be my newest Day 1 (I just hope I remember - I get so sidetracked when there's anyone mroe than my husband and me here)

Thanks for letting me rant. When I have time, I will try to catch up on your posts and gain inspiration.

I ate way past my cut-off last night, but healthy and I was way under my calories even after eating, so no point for snacks this time  Me: 19 - Late snacks 3
Almost only a week more to go this month! I'll leave it up to you how we have this challenge in June: weekly vs. monthly.
Good to have you back again Zaza! I love how you keep coming back and never really give up . I know you can do it!

I'm good either way weekly or monthly. Never thought about it being hard to keep on track on the weekends. Glad to have Zaza back. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Tonight is hard again (at work); someone made cinnamon rolls for us. So ended up breaking my rule of "not eating other food until my healthy stuff was gone". :grumble:
