That reminds me of when I worked in daycare many years ago. They were not allowed to bring toy guns to school. If they "made" a gun out of tinker toys or legos we were to take them away. Then the kids started going "bang" with their fingers. I guess today we'd be expected to call the police. :noway:
A 6-year-old boy was suspended from an elementary school in Maryland for forming his fingers into a gun and saying “pow,” according to UPI. http://blog.sfgate.com/sfmoms/2013/01/04/boy-suspended-after-shooting-classmate-with-finger-gun/

Suspension is apparently the way to proceed with the finger gun approach.

But that strawberry goo could be really dangerous when fired out of a pop tart gun when it's fresh out of the toaster. I'm pretty sure it could cause 2nd degree burns.

Only if said hot strawberry goo is aimed directly at the roof of the mouth. Now THAT is dangerous. And tasty. All of a sudden my awesome turkey wrap from lunch seems so much less awesome.

I'm so glad my kids are in a private school that even still lets them play dodge ball at recess.... I don't give my kids pop-tarts though, those are for me!

The world just becomes more and more ridiculous. If kids make a "gun" out of their thumb and forefinger, I'm wondering how the authorities are going to take that away.

A co-worker was just telling me about this.

Yeah, I heard about that and I'm still having nightmares. I get shot and delicious strawberry goo comes out of the hole in my pastry chest! I start eating the goo as my sprinkles begin to fall off and my frosting cracks as my eyes glaze over! It's horrible!

    Is this Pop-Tart porn?

The real crime is that the kid wasted a Pop-Tart in the first place.

Hey, that kid was just wrong!

    That's not a gun, it's a stealth bomber . . .

About a month ago, my 12yo got sent home from school for wearing this shirt:

The vice-principal sent a letter home with him stating that the shirt was insensitive to the people at Sandy Hook. Of course, we're in Buffalo, so unless he was texting images of the shirt to those kids, I'm not sure how she came to that conclusion.

I find this funny because all we hear about from the school systems are their concerns for child safety, yet my local school district had kids selling newspapers on street corners all over town this morning during the morning rush hour traffic for fund raising purposes. Unsupervised I might add. Being hit by a car as someone is rushing to work is much more real than being shot by a pop tart gun....

IT is my right as a red blooded American to own a Pop Tart and if my kids want one too... well than that should be MY decision not the decision of some authoritorian government just looking for ways to take away our Pop Tarts! My father and grand fathers all served in the Military so that we all can have the right to speak freely and own a Pop Tart! IT's tyranny I say!

I'm wondering when we are going to start seeing the "TRUTH" commecials about guns. They've been running them for a few years now as a way to change societies view on Cigarettes...so next is guns right? That's the new hot button of society I think.

Lord, I pray to thee, force them to start showing "TRUTH" commecials about Stupid People.

    Amen.

Seriously for that reason??? Ugh. The dress code in my county doesn't allow clothing with pictures of anything depicting guns, smoking, drugs, sex or alcohol. My cousin was suspended for 3 days when his teacher saw a pink water gun in his backpack that had been given to him earlier that day as a birthday present. He refused to tell where it came from. That wasn't even recent. Oh, and a girl at my kids' elementary school was suspended for saving the life of a fellow student on her bus when she let her use her rescue inhaler. Apparently she should've let her suffocate. Not Pop Tart related, but just as freaking ridiculous. Power to the Pop Tarts!

 Yes, because Stupid people are most undecidedly the worst thing that is happening to this country... and they multiply faster than rabbits.

This wouldn't fly where I live. Most of our mascots, including the university, middle and high schools portray guns. When you go on campus, everyone waves their thumb and forefinger to portray a gun because one of the catch phrases is "guns up".

They want to allow teachers to carry firearms (controversial) on campuses. No way a kid would ever get sent home for a pretend gun. Other stupid decisions abound though... :(

The only problem that I see is that the poptart was strawberry and not brown sugar. Epic fail, kid.

You must live in the same area I do and came from. Good ole Texas... Where even "my florist has a gun".

Which will give rise to an old but updated greeting - "Is that a pop-tart in your pocket or are you just glad to see me."?
