You are my new hero!! I just had brain surgery in September 2012 to remove a benign brain tumor. I have a really cool scar behind my left ear. Thank you for inspiring me to keep at this weight loss journey.

Yes - yes - yes - I am so happy for you - and that your recovery is on track - and good for you - not using any of this as an excuse.
I really have so much respect for people that just keep going - and come out the other side stronger - and more awesome!

I love what you said there. Throughout this whole thing I have just been holding onto the fact that I believe there is something beautiful on the other side of all of this.

I think I'm a badazz, so it takes a lot for me to say this..but...

p.s. please pm me so I can pm you a picture of my scar. it's on the other end but still on the spine {scary}. it has healed significantly but we have also had the tattoo idea around here as mine will never be covered by hair. I super applaud you for staying on track during this time because surgery healing always=weight gain for me. I do however know what you mean about activity not being necessary to lose weight because at the beginning of my injury sidelining me and the inactivity packing on some extra pounds, I tinkered around with diet and ended up purposely losing around 50 lbs thru diet alone. I hope you'll consider FR me because I think we have a lot in common.

I had this exact operation in 2004 after being rear-ended by a car in 2003. I was in agony for months (seriously thought I had broken bones but all xrays were clean) with no explanation when finally my doctors ordered an MRI and sent it to a neurosurgeon. He confirmed I had Chiari malformation and needed surgery ASAP. It definitely put my life on hold for a bit of time. About two years ago all the lingering nerve pain, etc finally went away and I feel as though I'm getting my life back.

Great job getting through it! It sucks, but then you realize its your life to live. Great inspiration, thank you!
