Picking up women at the gym?
Replies

I try to meet women at the gym all the time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Here are cliffs from when I did it last weekend.
-- Take off the iPod.
-- Eye contact and smile.
-- If she returns the eye contact and smile, then approach her and talk about something fitness related.
-- I talked to a girl who was doing abs and I gave her a few pointers.
-- I didn't want to talk about fitness, but it served as a conversation starter.
-- Turned out I just didn't like this girl (too rough of a personality), so I didn't take it any further than that.
In all, the gym is the second best place to meet women. (grocery store being the best)
Thanks man! Great advice!!
First, wait until she's done with a set.
Then, I always open up with "Hi, my name is Mike". I'll follow it up with "I see that you are doing planks, you might want to keep your head up while doing it".
After you give her some advice, then compliment. Something like "you look like you're in good shape, how often do you come here. I usually work out in the mornings and I haven't seen you around." At that point, if she's even remotely interested, she'll do her best to partake in the conversation.
Happy hunting!
Thank you so much Mike you've been a huge help. I'm actually writing this stuff down! LOL
Is there anyway to tell if a girl is looking for a serious relationship or if she is just into something more casual?0 -
Rule of thumb... woman arent at the gym to be hit on, and if they are, their husband probably just isnt paying enough attention to them at home... so dont ever ever ever ever ever ever ever try to hit on a girl at the gym, because 99.9% of the time you will be a creeper, or her boyfriend is over there lifting 100 lb plates with his neck and will break you in half for being a creeper... Just go get your work out on, and dont stare or give them creepy weird smiles in zumba class either. Just a thought, gym is for working out, to quote eric church ... not "crrrrrrreeeeeeepiiinnnn"
But then why do they wear make up?
Seriously? You think women wear make up so you'll feel compelled to hit on them? Someone please tell me if he's joking, because I can't tell...
I happen to wear make up to the gym because I work out during my lunch break, and I'm not washing it off to work out and then have to put it back on to go back to the office.
^^^ This. Also some women use make up as a security blanket and just don't feel comfortable about going out without it. They don't wear it so men will think they're hot, they wear it so they can feel like they have the confidence to go to the gym.
So next time ANYONE, male or female, has to rip on why people look so flawless when they go to the gym, remember that. Also, remember it's also none of your business why they gussy up for the gym. Get on with your own gymming.0 -
Hey, 619, you're at it early today.
My single best piece of advice is to wear a tight wife beater and frequently say "Yo." It's foolproof. The overwhelming majority of women find this combination irresistible. Your DNA will be viewed as a high-priced commodity.0 -
Give her your post-workout banana and ask her to peel it for you. If she uses her teeth, she's giving you the green light; you're in.0

how about dont lol
im at the gym to kick *kitten*, not to get hit on. from what i've seen, most girls think guys who try to pick them up at the gym are skezzy.
you got some nice creative ideas on here though
in regards to the make up thing...women wanting to feel like they look nice is not an invitation to hit on them...
if a girl at the gym is looking around and not working out too hard she's open market, but some bad *kitten* running or hardcore lifting; i'd stay away from them! they are definitely not there to be hit on.
just an fyi too....this whole thread is the reason why women feel uncomfortable at gyms...just saying0 -

See this is something that I might be doing wrong.
I'm wearing sweats.
Do women find sweats attractive?0 -

Did you not pick up any/all of the sarcasm in the thread?

Nearly impossible to tell. If she's wearing a ton of make-up, perfume, yoga pants, and a skimpy top.. chances are she's looking for a good time.
I would prefer to approach a women who's NOT wearing an iPod. That's another subtle hint that they want to be interacted with. However, I approached women who are listening to music, but I haven't had a good success rate.
The most important (and most awkward) part of the approach is the initial introduction. When you say, "Hi, my name is Cr1502" say it with a nice smile. Then immediately go into your next line, which should be related to her actual workout or form on an exercise.0 -

Women love sweats on men, but only if they are high-waisted and tight around the ankles.0 -
I typcially fallf or the hot guy that sly eyes me. Also, casual conversation usually helps.0

What do you mean by sly eyes?
Anyway you can give me an example?0 -

Keep looking at me when I'm trying to squat and make it really obvious your annoyed i'm using the squat rack when you want to use it. Obviously as you are the male you are superior and have all gym rights. That way I will know your the Alpha male in the gym and have first rights to all the equipment. That makes me weak at the knees every time......0

As a woman I apologise for the general female sense of humour failure in this thread. Sarcasm detector fail. Ladies lighten up!! :laugh:0

Wear your ball shorts. Find a bench directly in front of her and bench press. SHow her who the king ding-a-ling is.0

Oh don't worry Jes!
I don't use the squat rack.
I just stick with the machines, power plates, and cardio.
Besides I would never give you the evil eye.

Buy them a protein bar. :flowerforyou:0

Try working on your bench and OHP, these compound moves will help you get strong enough to lift them.

grunt when you lift..... sweat a alot and dont wipe anything down.... carry a 5 gallon jug of water with you..... wear a sweatband around your head...and long socks... give them a thumbs up when they are using the correct form that you just showed them, and wink sometimes.. and point... stare in the mirror at yourself, give them an occasional glance to make sure they are watching too....
these are some of the things that work well for me. I have the women chasing me when I leave the gym....0 -
Picking up women at the gym is really quite simple. Just ask a couple of chicks politely if they would kindly sit at the end of a bar. Once they're on, just lift. And hey presto! You're picking up women!
Do take care that you get two girls who are the same weight. An unbalanced load can give you a bad back.0 -

Maybe, like me, they are coming straight from work where they wear makeup. Some women, though, put on makeup as soon as they get out of the shower in the morning because it is habit.
As for picking women up - don't. It bugs me when men come over to talk to me while I am working out. I have to concentrate in order to squeeze those shoulders back, breath out when doing the lift and in when relaxing, etc. And I only take a 30 second break between lifts so as to get some cardio benefits. Talking is not on my agenda and probably not on any other woman's agenda if they are serious about lifting..
On the other hand, there are women who go to the gym just to pick up men. If they are into that and interested in you, they will come to you. These are the ones that are pumping the two pounders and scoping out the men.0 -
I just lay on a bench, and make sure to catch her attention, while strategically ensuring my balls are hanging out. I know this is a turn on for women.
Great minds think alike LOL0 -
Seriously, stop replying thinking it's all serious. Oh actually....carry on, it's kinda funny..... Ball shorts....lol. That's gotta be a man phrase, never heard that one before.0

I had an old, fat guy named Mario come up to me while I was lifting last night. He said he was impressed by how much I was squatting and could see that I was really strong, then he gave me technique tip. If he wasn't old enough to be my grandfather, I would have been all over him :smooched:0

OMG, that's you? I've been trying to get the courage to pick YOU up!0 -

OMG! Perfect. That one always works. I had an ex-family member who used to do that when we would go on a boat. He wore these old short shorts, and his balls would pop out. Another thing he would do is when he would need to lift a really light box, he would flex his guns like it was an effort to lift it, thus making his guns really pop. You can always lean down to pick up your water bottle and really flex as you are picking it up. She'll surely love that, then follow it up with the inner thigh stretch on the floor where you put your feet together and your dangly man bits are hanging out for everyone to see. Chicks love that stuff! It lets them see the goods before they buy.0 -
Also, when you go to the pool area, make sure to wear a speedo and stuff it with a sock. That is a sure winner. And make sure you don't get rid of any extra hair if it is sprouting out of your back. You could even braid it.0
