What is your resting heart rate?

It may have been sheer boredom or that I was cold today at my EKG class. But I was shocked to find mine at 52.

FWIW, I do run and lift, but I thought it would be at least on the low side of normal (60-100)

U probably need to multiply that by two that is extremely low
  • I would think that is normal. Runners and athlete's are usually below the normal because their heart is trained to pump more. I don't think it should worrisome unless you dropped down in the 30-40 range. My resting heart rate is usually 56.

53 any time I check but I've never checked just after waking up when I think it is the lowest.
  • mines at about 45 bpm. its called bradycardia (a resting heart rate of lower then 60 bpm). people who are incredibly fit often have a lower rhr and is nothing to be worried about. there is other cases where a lowered rhr (and bradycardia) can be a bad thing - an indication of a problem with one of your organs, however in your circumstance it is obviously not the latter, since you are obviously fit. :)

Oh no, I'm 100% sure. It's always been between 32-40.

Mine was 41 at the hospital last time I went in for health screen. They took it twice and asked me if I ran. lol. I said, "Yes."

55 This morning. Usually high 40's but it went up to high 50's as I'm recovering from a major sporting event a few weeks back.

woooow. you guys all have really low resting heart rates!
I haven't checked mine in a while, but last time I did (a couple months ago) it was 80 something. That was before I started working out, I assume it may be a tad lower now, but it's always been on the higher side for me.

Ok thx guys! I'm a cardiac RN so I'm well aware of what brady is. I just thought it was odd, ESP since I don't consider myself an athlete. Well, til tonight. W00t!

Currently about 48-51. It has been as low as 39 when I've been fitter; that's been a while... :-)
