it's currently between 38 and 42, at work. But I'm never resting, I'm either asleep or working.0

36 usually; about 32 in meditation.0
-
62 According to HRM.0

Mine is 52 - one less than my age, which seems a reasonable target to maintain.
Down from about 60 last summer when I started getting serious about my fitness.0 -
Just before I fall asleep it is usually around 50, sometimes as low as 44, when I wake up around 56-60, once I kept my heart rate monitor on and the average was 50.0
-
Before starting my healthy eating and exercising my resting heart was 85bpm NOW 53bpm ))0

Wow, some of these are so low. Is that what it's "supposed" to be? Like lower the better type of thing?0
-
around 55 that's down from 64 in December. Yay running!0
-
56 - sitting at work. Is that resting? :-)0
-
Wow...mine is always in the 80's/90's. When I exercise, it gets up to the 110's/120's. I have no heart problems either...0

46 bpm0

Mine is around the low 90s.
I had a virus that affected my heart muscle a few years ago. I'm on beta blockers and ACE inhibitor tablets to 'control' it... So I dread to think what it might be without the meds!
I'm hoping becoming active might improve my health0 -
58, down from 78 before MFP0
-
42
I feel pretty heart-healthy.0 -
Got 61 this morning.. time to quit smoking as I noticed my HR is about 20 beats higher after I've had a smoke for the day! :laugh:0

59!
Last checked my RHR about 6 months ago, and it was 78 - all that swimming is obviously doing me some good0 -
Mine tends to average between 45-48 when I'm just stood still checking final texts/emails etc before I start a workout (at home). No idea what sitting/laying and resting would be.
You people with really low heart rates make me feel less worried, lol. I'm still debating about mentioning it to my Dr next time I'm there as I don't consider myself as fit enough to warrant a heart rate that low and it's probably best to be sure I'm not about to randomly keel over and die.0 -
Are you measuring this with a HRM or only counting your heartbeats?
Counting at my carotid by feel.0 -

Yes. The more you improve your cardiac and respiratory function, the less hard those organ systems have to work. Instead of needing 70, 80, or more beats (squeezes) per minute to supply your body with all the blood it needs, your strengthened heart muscle can output the same volume with only 40 or 50 squeezes0 -

52 right now, it varies from the low 40's to high 50's. Once, an EMT friend of mine said that I should technically be dead because my heartrate was below 30 at the time. Haha!0

Mine is usually around 60 at the CVS when I check it. My doctor always gets a high reading because I'm a 40 year old child who is still afraid of the doctor. I never remember to get my heart rate right after I wake up.0
-
But I believe 60-100 is considered normal.

47ish lying in bed in the morning and around 50-55 when I am sitting up working on computer, etc. I'm a runner as well. :-)0

So glad to see other peoples low readings! Mine is anywhere between 38 and 50 at the moment. I am no athelete but I have been running and hitting the cardio pretty hard the last few months.
At my heaviest it was above 90. Guess I am just getting much more fit and healthy.0 -
Average is 66 for me, first thing in the morning before I get out of bed it measures at 58.
Last ear at this time when I went for my physical my resting heart rate was 74.0
