After reading some comments from the USA peeps, I wondered who would win in a slang/phrase/sayings SHOW DOWN!
Some examples of the UK sayings: -
"She has had more pricks than a second hand dartboard" <- a lady who engages in numerous activities of a sexual nature
"Shaking like a ******ng dog" <-trembling
"Bobs your uncle" <- Job done
"Boat race" <- Face
"Big girl's blouse" <- Girly boy
"Popped his clogs" <- Died
Bring it on.............!!!

HAHA, I love "Bob's your uncle". Hmmm...hard to top those. Maybe:
"I'm sweatin' like a *kitten* in church"0 -
That is excellent - pretty much describes how I am feeling in this office today...0
-
Same!!0
-
In NY we say "I was sweatin' like a dawg in a chinese restaurant"...0
-
Uk -
Apples n pears - stairs0 -
Haha do I have to do a NY accent with that?
See in England its slightly less subtle.... "Sweating like a paedophile in a playground"
My Mum is from Liverpool she has some cracking sayings like "her *kitten* was like two rhino's fighting in a sack" and "curby kiss"0 -
One I heard growing up is "If momma aint happy aint nobody happy"
lol at the rhono's haha!0 -
"That would run a buzzard off a gut wagon" - means it stinks
"gag a maggot" -same as above
In the Army we have a few unique sayings too....
"You're a soup sandwich" -you are all kinds of messed up.
"Monkey f**king a football" -thats just wrong.
"Get your meatbeaters off me" -get your HANDS off me.0 -
UK wins the slang fest, no doubt...0
-
hahaha my uncle made one up - ruptured spleens = pair of jeans hahaha!0
-
In the words of Charlie Sheen UK = "Winning"
"Her face is like a bulldog chewing a wasp" / "Face like a slapped *kitten*"
"My *kitten* is a cream cake" (You have to put that one into context to get it) "If she's 30, then my *kitten* is a cream cake"
"Bent as a nine bob note"0 -

I love this so much I am using it when my boyfriends cockney Grandad comes round.0 -

UK , When some one is giving you a hard time we say

2 Listen to rent a mouth
3 My ears are a ringing

US:
it was cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey
Up **** creek without a paddle
The whole nine yards
If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen0 -
"Up and down like a fart in a bottle"
Man, some stuff we say really doesn't make any sense....
I wanna see what Canadian people say.... Let it rain RavenKellie0 -
I'm American and I'm casting all of my votes for British sayings!
An Xbox friend is from the U.K. and we were playing Skyrim the other day when he found a rare weapon. He goes, "I just found X weapon! That's as rare as rocking horse *kitten*!" ha ha ha ha ha ha! I've never heard anyone say that before and he says it's a British thing.
I wish I had a British thing.0 -
this one is funny: ...and a set of balls like the King of Bayonne
Pull the wool over your eyes
A sledgehammer to crack a nut0 -
Well I would be better in french Canadian sayings than in english... but you can bet that francos in France are pissing their pants with laughter when we do that lol0
-
UK will always win the slang contest as the US is not that creative. We just say it.
Canada...well they will just look on and jump on the winner bandwagon. :laugh:0 -

Awww! You know we are more neutral that that!0 -
This will burn you guys, but in the UK we really can't tell the difference between an American and a Canadian accent....0

I'm American and I can't either... There really isn't one. Its not like UK English, Irish English etc.0 -

There really isn't a difference except for the southerners, I find Canadians use UK words though, like saying chips instead of saying fries.0 -
One used in a movie
"hotter than Georgia asphalt"
That's really hot in case you are wondering. LOL!0 -
I really wish I had time to research the origins of some of these sayings.... Bizarre.0

I once got into a flame war with a British kid whose heavy artillery insults were things like "Get stuffed" and "Pillock."
Coming from the land of the F-bomb that is the US, I was not intimidated. Plus, pillock, as I told him, sounds like a combo of a pillow and a hammock. Which I would buy ten of.0 -
"Get your head out of the Clouds" = Delusional
"Not pot to piss in or a window to throw it out"= Person who thinks they have it all and have NOTHING in others eyes
"I'm outtie 5000"= I'm leaving
She's a Dime= Hot chic!
