What is your daily calorie allowance?

I'm between 5'4" and 5'5" somewhere, and weigh in the 111-113 range.
Calories set to 2000 but I come in around 1850-1900 most week days to allow cushion for overage on the weekends. This is maintenance for me. I also use the TDEE method so this includes exercise.
I do 3 days of full body lifting a week and do some form of cardio on two other days, two days of rest.0 -
I've just changed mine. I must admit, i was a bit silly and placed mine at 1000...i lost a couple of pounds and then got carried away, and because i've had a few problems with food in the past it was easy to slip into bad habits again. However, i've given myself a boot up the backside and have got back to being sensible with this and have upped it to 1,200. I usually do a decent amount of exercise each day, whether it's walking to work and back, (takes 180 minutes altogether) or going to the gym where i burn between 150 and 200 calories, depending on how motivated i'm feeling. Plus i usually have a cheat day once a week, as i really do love my food
I'm 5ft 4 and currently weight 120lbs, i used to weigh less and have put on a bit of weight recently so that some of my jeans don't fit anymore. It's only a few pounds that i want to lose, so i know it's going to be difficult and quite slow. Unfortunately i know i'm just gonna have to accept that and be happy for any sort of progress0 -
Thank you all so much for this info! It's clear that my calories are way too low at 1200. I'm upping it to 1400 this week to see where that takes me. After that, maybe I'll try 1600. My BMR says 1900! I feel like thats way too many.
We'll see!
Loving the input!0 -
I aim for 1200 calories a day. I am trying to walk 1 mile a day for at least 3 to 4 days a week. I weighed 220 when I started in January and I have lost down to 201 pounds as of this morning. I am 50 years old and I am in fair health. I have noticed when I don't eat enough calories, my weight loss stalls. I am happy with myself and that is very important0

I felt that way too but I never reach it nor do I stress over it. If you eat a well balanced healthy diet you will not be hungry. Stressing all day to not go over a too low calorie setting is what makes ppl give up. Eat...if we were meant to starve we would look beautiful fat because that is what happens when you starve...your body takes what ever food you eat and stores it as fat.0 -

I have been playing around with calorie counts and recently adjusted mine back to 1200. I feel great and have a lot of energy. I was on 1000 a day and felt pretty good, but I read all the horror stories about not eating enough calories and I decided to not put my body in jeopardy anymore.
edit: oh and I work out 6 times a week for at least 30 minutes. My GW is 140.0 -
I'm 5'4, 145 pounds with a goal weight of 135. I had been eating around 1700 calories while training for a half marathon because I'm close to goal and was running a lot. Right now I'm not able to run due to an injury so I started up NROLW. I'm still eating at a slight deficit while doing the program so 1700 on non-workout days and 1900 on lifting days. I'm pretty sedentary otherwise and haven't gained by eating at this level.0

I'm in maintenance.

I'm 5'7", 134 pounds. I have a sedentary job, lift heavy weights 3x a week, and walk my dog about 3-4 times a week.0 -

I am 5'2 and 135lbs.
I shoot for around 1450 calories per day. My TDEE is about 1800 so I subract 20% and that is how I came up with it.
I set my calories on here to 1200 and then usually burn at least 250 calories exercising, so it stays close to my daily goal that way as well.0 -
Hi,
Well did try a lot with swimming, yoga and little stretching has lost 4 kgs in one month.
am feeling very positive.0 -
I eat around 1200 calories a day, give or take a little. I work out daily right now as I'm doing the 30DS, and after working out I have a protein shake (Bio Synergy Skinny Shake) and count that as the calories I need to eat back.
I am 5'8" and weigh 156lbs, and aiming for 135 - 140lbs.0 -
I'm on a cut now after having allowed myself 2200 a day. My limit while cutting is now 1820 day(and losing weight FAST). I'm sedentary most of the day because I'm in school, but I try to walk 5 days a week if I can. Some days that's as much as 10 km just to get to and from school. I lift heavy 4 days a week. Following a workout plan derived by Roger Lockridge that I found on BodyBuilding.com and I'm gaining muscle fast. Love it.
Stats: 5 foot 7 and 136 pounds
Macros: <30% carbs, ~30% protein and 40% fat. Oh yes. Love it.0 -
Calorie Allowance: 1790
Exercise: I lift dumb bells and run when I have the time, otherwise, I'm on my feet most of the day from 7 a.m. to ? (7-8 p.pm., and when I think I'm not going to be on my feet a lot , I walk for 30 minutes).
Height: 5'7
Weight: 180-183 lbs. (I go by measurement mostly, I have a 35 inch waist)0 -
I eat between 1900-2300 a day, depending on exercise. Lifting always makes me ravenous!0
-
Current height 5ft 1in
Current weight 123 lbs
Goal Weight 120 lbs
Goal Calories 1200
Exercise 5-6 days a week
I usually burn 200 calories on the elliptical so i get 1400 day.0 -
I stay around 1,300.
If you go under 1,200 calories your body will go into starvation mode, store fat to give you energy for the lack of eating, this too happens if you skip meals. If you go over 1,500 calories, you will gain weight.
I'm 5'6 and weigh 148lbs
I don't exercise and I've lost 25 pounds so far. Don't focus too much on the calorie intake, make sure you get a lot of nutrients in your body because that will help you lose that unwanted weight.
I've been doing the 90 Day Challenge and feeling great!0 -
My net goal is 1450 calories. I hit a slight plateau until i incorporated the TDEE-20% idea. I eat my workout calories back until I hit the number I'm looking for (which is still around my net of 1450). I workout 5-6 times a week for about an hour each. I started out at 183, I'm now at 153.8. My first goal was 150, but I'm thinking of pushing it to 135. :drinker:0

Sorry...guess this may not have been the best post to start posting on. Sometimes my honesty gets me in trouble.0

My goal on MFP is 1350, but I eat anywhere between 1500-2000 cals/day. I run 4 times a week, walk/bike to work, and weight train on off days. Mostly I try to shoot for 1350 net.

Myth. Blanket statement. Evidence against part one: TONS of supervised diets on obese individuals following "crash diets" under medical supervision. Also, Minnesota starvation experiments. Though they were technically starving, they were not consuming less than 1200 calories a day. I will concede that; however, they were certainly consuming less than they needed to survive. Evidence against part 2: Me, and just about everyone else who strength trains. I didn't gain weight even at 2200 calories a day.0
