Ah I should point out that when I joined I was using a picture of me when I was 19 since I had no recent pics and had no desire to put one up and didn't have my age listed on my profile. Many months went by and many people helped.

The results you are looking for can be achieved with exercise
You already look super skinny so try Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred - I think you will be closer to what you want to be by following her routine in that DVD
It is free on youtube if you just look for level 1 level 2 and level 3 (you do 10 days on each level)

No-one bothers to look at profiles to check how old someone is before they respond. They respond to what's being said in the post.

no. I don't think you're an idiot or that you should gtfo. Actually what I think might help is if you stop perceiving everyone who's disagreeing with you as attacks, and instead think about what they're saying, because it might contain some good advice that could benefit you. (or maybe it doesn't... but if you don't consider it then how will you know?)

I didn't even know you were younger than average on here until you stated that you were. I responded to the content of what you wrote in your posts. If you're perceiving that people are being mean on account of your age, then maybe your perception is wrong. And I feel that knowing that and altering your perception will make your experience on this site better and more beneficial, hence why I'm pointing it out.

This is a cry for attention. I say this as someone (when younger) had body/food issues. This is something I could have seen myself doing and she knows the type of responses she is going to get by saying "I'm fat".

Sometimes you think about how much you hate your body even if to others, you look great, that you use unhealthy outlets to just get it out of you. It sounds weird but it's true.

Now I am not saying you have any type of actual disorder, But I don't think you will find the help you need here. Find a therapist that will help you deal with the real emotions as to why you feel this way. Much luck.

    This. Yes. And Yes again.

A different demographic just seems to use this site. There's bb.com, pro ana forums and here. I choose here.

Why would anyone even CONSIDER a pro-ana forum? Unless they wanted to be or wanted to be thought of as an anorexic anyway. I never did get it even when I WAS a teenager.

To the OP, like others have said, lift weights and eat close to your TDEE. You may never have a thigh gap, genetics plays a huge role in that (and you look small framed from the little avatar, so of course I could be wrong on that).
  • Every time I see perfectly lovely young women talk about attaining 'thigh gaps' a little piece of me dies inside

Maybe my threads are inane but they don't get responses like the threads from bigger women. Hmm. I'm scared of the attacks now. Nvm this.

The thing is...if you're 30 pounds overweight and have 35% body fat, there are basic changes you need to think about. You might have a question or two about it and most people who have been on here for a minute can offer some insight. Also there are a number of different approaches that can work for different people.

If you are 20% body fat and want a flat stomach...it's a little harder. I've been down to 18% body fat, with ab definition, without having a completely flat tummy. My body isn't built that way. The OP's may or may not be. The answer is weight lifting and once somebody says that, there's not much else to say.

And if you want to have a completely flat tummy sitting down, well, you need Photoshop. So there's a reality-check element there. Maybe people could be more tactful about that, but this is the Internet.

Untrue about the flat belly while sitting.

    Pics or it didn't happen.
  • I looked at this post because I struggle with eating enough and have gained quite a bit of weight over the years as a result. Reading all of the posts, I have found that I should try lifting heavy weights. I do some strength training but I thought that low weights, high reps was the way to go so that I don't become bulky. I am only 5'1.25" and don't want to look all muscle-ly. So thanks for the advise to lift heavier. I will work on that as soon as my torn ligaments in my thumb heals.

As for the rest...well...there are no words. It was very eye opening to read the judgements, the excuses, the...everything. I am not quoting anyone, I am not judging, I am just very surprised.

    My best to all!

  • Wow okay that got alot more comments than I thought, so to clear a few things up.
-not a troll, I'm not happy with the way I look and I want to change it. I may not be overweight but I just want to be fit healthy and tonned.
    - I do not have a ED, like really when I'm hungry I eat but I just ment I'm never hungry much anymore, and I didn't know what that could mean.
    - I don't have anything against fat people, I just never want to be the fat girl again, and I would rather not have any fat on my body. I didn't mean it to offended anyone.
    - I'm sick of my thighs that touch, personally I want a thigh gap, and I don't see what's so bad about that. I think the hype around them is stupid and putting expectations on people, seeing that it's not possible for everyone to have one. However, my hips are large enough for one.
-I'm going to start lifting like many of you susgested, as well as further toning and cardio.
Thank you all for your comments, and I'm not going to even bother commenting on some of the less kind ones.

    1) Fair enough. I'm going to ignore the word toned since it seems to mean a million different things to a million different people. If your version is "strong and firmer body" and has nothing to d owith weight then way to go.
    2) yeah....not going to go there
    3) Saying you didn't want to offend the "fat people" isn't probably a good start to this. Also, if 'would rather not have any fat' on your body....well...I'll just go back to 2)
    4) There is nothing wrong with a thigh gap. It's more the goal of getting a thigh gap that is concerning and a indicator of...going back to 2) I also know lots of people who have large hips, are small, and have nowhere near a thigh gap. It is not all about hips. And that's coming from a person with a thigh gap.
    5) Yayyy for the first part and nobody knows what you mean by 'further toning', as that sentence can indicate many things, including many things that don't make sense. Going back to not going to go there.

First off, if you have "nothing against fat people" it might be best to remove the "ew fat ppl" from your profile as that is insulting to some.

Second, you HAVE to have fat on your body. It is part of how everyone is made up. Having too low of a body fat can cause health issues.

And you may not be able to get a thigh gap. It isn't something everyone can achieve regardless of how much weight they lose. I've seen incredibly thin ladies that have thighs that touch. It depends on how your body is built. Focusing on achieving that can lead to an disorder.

Stop focusing on the scale. If you are lifting properly and eating enough you WILL gain weight or just not lose anything.

Wow, I just don't know what to say. I really think that you have some distorted body image problems. You are by no means "fat". You may need to do some lifting to get some definition, but posting in the General Diet and Weight Loss section may not be for you. And to feel the way you do about "fat" people (eww...fat ppl) is not going to go over well in a forum with many people that are currently "fat" and here trying to do something about it.

So, first get over your body images and feelings about "fat"...you should want to be fit but you are certainly not fat. Then I would worry about you not reaching your calorie goals on a daily basis as you don't look like you could stand to lose any weight. It could be a mental issue that you are having (yes, I'm referring to an ED) and needs to be addressed before you become anorexic. I would start by seeing your doctor and explain what is going on with your body and psyche.

Best of luck to you on reaching your goals and changing your mindset.
Im never really hungry much at all. i never reach my calorie goal but im still fat. I dont know if i should eat more, or if i even could. I could possibly be gluten introlent i dont know!

The point is that she asked a question and because she's relatively slim, people ignored her. It's her body and she can do what she wants with it.

OP, I'm not sure how much you're eating, but if you're under for an extended period of time, your metabolism will slow down. Weight lifting helps me..

No one ignored her. Multiple people told her that if she wanted to create the toned body she was looking for, she should build muscle. She's not overweight.

Just read your profile.... eeewww shallow people. Maybe some day you'll be addressing your lifestyle for optimal health, not just for a thigh gap.

Fat people gross you out, but people like you gross me out.
